Piers Morgan, David Gregory
and guns - We´re pathetic

Baltimore Sun, by David Zurawik

Original Article

Posted By:DaddyO, 12/27/2012 8:17:48 AM

Remember all the big, high-sounding media talk right after the massacre at Sandy Hook about how maybe now we will have a "national dialogue" about guns? Remember how many members of the media vowed to put aside their own little, selfish, partisan agendas and get serious about making this a safer and saner country for our children? Well, here we are 12 days out, and what´s that big media conversation on guns about? Whether or not "Meet the Press" host David Gregory broke a law by waving an empty ammunition clip on the air Sunday

Comments:
Why stop at Gregory and Morgan? Continue on to most of the rest of the idiot media.

I grew up reading the Sun every single day, mostly for sports but it was fairly conservative in the news back then,Haven´t read the news section for at least 15 years. When I see this guys name,it time to take off.

The article went in the trash with it´s description of Katie Couric. David, you have got to be kidding! Why have we been importing these pompous brits to lecture us? (including fox) Are there no more Americans who can speak English?

Davey, Gregory did break the law if that magazine was real. As for McCarthy, he didn´t break the law, and he was right.
And for your whining over the petition, did you say the same things when all the libs were doing it before?

Reply 7 - Posted by: HicksvilleKid59, 12/27/2012 9:55:28 AM     (No. 9085623)

As is usual with "conversations" with the left, they quickly devolve into blasting everything the right says before the echos stop.

Look at what the NRA chief said...it was roundly blasted by the left within 12 nanoseconds. That´s not a "conversation". Those dimwits seem to forget that what he said was pretty much what Bubba suggested a few years ago. Who knew? Certainly not the low/no information voters.

So on top of being dimwits they are having memory loss problems. You can´t have a conversation with someone with those conditions.

David ... the reason we hold the media in contempt is because they lie, hide facts about the dems, make up stories about conservatives and etc. David, you have to earn respect and you all have failed.

Just as well. We aren´t missing anything.

Whenever Leftists talk about "dialogue" or "a national conversation" on something, anything, we can be sure they are gearing up to try to ram their ideology down our throats.

"Conversation" and "dialogue," like "compromise" and "bipartisanship" are code words for Leftists. They mean agreeing and going along with whatever Leftists want, no questions asked.

In a way, it actually makes sense. Leftists think they know everything and are always right, that their motives are pure, and that no rational, ethical, decent person could possibly fail to see things their way.

So what is there, really, to talk about? Nothing. It is a mere formality before signing on the dotted line.

In Liberalville, "conversation" means "a lecture."

David Gregory performed the ultimate demonstration of why gun control laws don´t work. Because he had been denied permission by the authorities to possess the 30-round magazine, he broke the law to do so. Validating, "when guns are outlawed, only outlaws will have guns."

Zurawik, you ARE pathetic.

Does David Zurawik have a mouse in his pocket? I am not part of his "we". What is pathetic how liberal started politicizing this shooting even before the blood had stopped oozing.

It was the first time in recent memory that the Iowa GOP Lincoln Day Dinner sold out nearly two weeks in advance, and it was on the strength of its headliner, Kentucky Senator Rand Paul (snip) "They say the Federal Reserve has been robbed. And we said, really?!” Paul said, his voice nearly cracking in mock disbelief. “They said, ‘Yeah, but we caught the thieves. They got in front of the safe, they had the big safe open, but they were perplexed. They were flummoxed. They didn’t know what to do with minus sixteen trillion dollars!’ ”

Just get on a bike. It works. It really does. It doesn´t matter if you´re exhausted by the bike debate, or the alleged bike debate, or whatever this supposedly acid conflict should be called, because I´m pretty sure bikes are nowhere near as divisive as they are sometimes portrayed. I don´t know anyone who would identify themselves as ´anti-bike.´ I don´t actually know what ´anti-bike´ means. It sounds more miserable than being ´anti-beer.´ Anti-bike? Really? I believe there are some worthy issues about the growing role of the bicycle in daily lives,

Keith Olbermann, the talented but difficult talk show host, has had a rather checkered resume. ESPN. Fox Sports. MSNBC. Current TV. His departures have generally been unpretty, including his last gig with Al Gore´s network (soon to become Al-Jazeera). But he has found new employment at Turner Broadcasting. And it´s not CNN. Rather, he´s joining TBS as a studio host for its baseball coverage during the post season with Hall of Famer pitcher Dennis Eckersley. In other words, he´s going back to his roots as a sports guy.

In a bizarre op-ed in The Charleston Gazette last week, journalism professor Christopher Swindell argued that the National Rifle Association “advocates armed rebellion against the duly elected government of the United States of America.” Stirring words, to be sure, but Swindell was hardly done — not even close. He also said that the NRA is guilty of “treason” “worthy of the firing squad.” “To support the new NRA president’s agenda of arming the populace for confrontation with the government is bloody treason,” Swindell charged in his wacky essay.

´Mars Rat´ Taking Internet by Storm

A Mars rock that bears a passing resemblance to a rodent is scuttling across the Internet with gusto, even inspiring some fans to set up a Twitter account in its name. UFO buffs spotted the purported "Mars rat" in a panoramic photo snapped in September 2012 by NASA´s Curiosity rover. Zooming in on a portion of the image reveals what appears to be a rodent crouching between two rocks, its nose to the ground. "It´s a cute rodent on Mars. Note its lighter-color upper and lower eyelids, its nose and cheek areas, its ear, its front leg and stomach,"

In an email to LAObserved.com, our erstwhile antagonist Cynthia Rawitch responded yesterday to our Friday reminiscence of our long-ago college free-speech dispute. Here are her comments in their entirety: Writing more than 7,000 words about an event that took place in college nearly 25 years ago seems to represent a level of obsession that I can´t understand. James leaves out a number of salient facts because they don´t fit the narrative he recalls.

The vice provost of California State University, Northridge, retires today. Former student James Taranto, now editor of OpinionJournal.com and a member of The Wall Street Journal editorial board, sued for being suspended after he printed a cartoon on the paper´s opinion page.

Amid a steady rise of backlash, Edward Snowden, the 29-year-old former National Security Agency contractor who was the source of a spring of leaks about the agency´s surveillance methods, conducted a live chat on The Guardian´s website Monday morning. Judging from some of the pointed questions he´s been asked and the reaction to newly leaked revelations over the past few days, it´s clear that much of the sympathy and support Snowden had built up for his early exposures is eroding. Many Americans supported his decision to leak information about a pair of National Security Agency surveillance programs, which, he detailed, gathered information

As NewsBusters reported last week, former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin called out vulgarian comedian Bill Maher for referring to her Down Syndrome son Trig as "retarded." On ABC´s The View Monday, co-host Barbara Walters astonishingly defended Maher saying, "I don´t think he intended it to be mean-spirited" (video follows with transcript and commentary): WHOOPI GOLDBERG: At a recent standup show in Las Vegas, comedian Bill Maher apparently called Sarah Palin’s five-year-old developmentally-challenged son Trig retarded. A group of whistleblowers, including a number of aviation experts, have come forward in a new documentary to claim that the official explanation for the crash of TWA Flight 800 was wrong and a gas tank explosion did not bring down the flight off the coast of Long Island 17 years ago. However, the six whistleblowers, all part of the original investigation team, stopped short of saying the plane was shot down. Flight 800, a Boeing 747, had just taken off from JFK airport with 230 people aboard on July 17, 1996 enroute to Paris when it exploded

Charlie Rose last night asked President Obama his new Syria policy. The president first objected to it being called a new policy. "I´m not sure you can characterize this as a new policy. This is consistent with the policy that I´ve had throughout," he said. Obama then explained the goal is regional stability, and especially in Syria. "Really, what we´re trying to do is take sides against extremists of all sorts and in favor of people who are in favor of moderation, tolerance, representative government, and over the long-term, stability and prosperity for the people of Syria," said Obama.

We’ll come back in a minute to Senator Rubio and Congressman Ryan. For those who came in late, a year before the IRS scandals burst onto the scene in early May of 2013, an alert investigative reporter for WTHR-Indianapolis (Channel 13), Bob Segall by name, produced a stunning piece of journalism. Segall’s video report is found here and we will quote from his story for the basics.

It is understood that a contingency plan is in place for the unlikely event that an attempt would be made on the President’s life. The Secret Service also have diplomatic immunity which will allow them to shoot to kill a would-be assassin without fear of prosecution. As part of the “evacuation route” plan, they would be able to spirit the President by chopper to one of the carriers where a jet is on standby to take him back to the United States.
