| One person was killed and 13 wounded in gun violence over the Christmas holiday, including an 11-year-old boy grazed by a bullet and a man who was shot to death during a dispute in the Englewood neighborhood. Joshua Davis, 18, was shot to death in the 2000 block of W. 69th Street — a few blocks from his home — after an altercation with several males on a CTA bus, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner’s office.

Comments: I´m confused. Chicago already has about the strictest gun laws in the US so what can we possibly do? We could ban the people doing the shooting. No, they won´t let us do that. What about putting criminals in jail and keeping them there. Put a little fear in them. No, won´t let us do that either. Wait, I´ve got it! Let´s take all guns away from honest citizens. That will do it.

Most amusing. Chicago has a body count equal to the ´current events school shooting´ - about every week...and as noted - the toughest city gun laws in the country...
Obama? Obama? Ob....Bueller?...Bueller?
And it *certainly* isn´t like the Judicial system in the US - of late more concerned with ´humanity´ than actual punishment of crime - has anything to do with this mess...
It sure didn´t seem to stop the ´Fireman Killer´ from obtaining firearms - after killing someone previously with a hammer.
Guess he forgot to check the ´Convicted Felon´ box at the gun store. Ya´ think?

Mistress e. holder of dog fame had great plans for population elimination (control in gov speak) with the covert well offending faster and furiouser plan and by packing the penal system with constituents. After all most felons are "heped" and paid to vote by the feral regime. This would have solved all of their problems with housing, welfare, but they over looked one facet.
Who would be left to carry out the dimfecal multiple voter plan? Perhaps the dims are not as smart as they think.
Of course the Plan B might be to simply have the gummit printing presses print the ballots and keep the press running until they win.

Black folks wake up, stop murdering each other, stop aborting your children, look inward and heal yourselves. There has to be a point at which the black community just says enough, and begins to clean their act up. When that epiphany comes will be a great day. Every life is precious and should not be squandered.

Judging by some (many) replies in this thread, it seems many must have missed the news just a couple of weeks ago? Guns are no longer banned in Chicago. The ban was found unconstitutional, and CCW is now legal. They were given sonething like 180 days to cone up with guidelines for CCW. I would presume with the state of affairs in Chicago open carry would be a death sentence, albeit legal, a death by cop that is uneducated to the new laws would be of concern.
With legal guns in Chicago now, more if the statitistics you will be seeing will be the cleansing of the entitlement gene pool. Pay closer attention, you should.

Chicago has more killings now than military deaths. Thus, we get Rahm Emanuel´s version of the golden city the rest of us in the U.S. should emulate.

Homeland Insecurity: The White House assures that tracking our every phone call and keystroke is to stop terrorists, and yet it won´t snoop in mosques, where the terrorists are. That´s right, the government´s sweeping surveillance of our most private communications excludes the jihad factories where homegrown terrorists are radicalized. Since October 2011, mosques have been off-limits to FBI agents. No more surveillance or undercover string operations without high-level approval from a special oversight body at the Justice Department dubbed the Sensitive Operations Review Committee.

Hundreds of Christians were under siege inside Cairo’s Coptic cathedral last night as security forces and local residents, some armed with handguns, launched a prolonged and unprecedented attack on the seat of Egypt’s ancient Church. At least one person was killed and at least 84 injured as Christians inside the walled St Mark’s cathedral compound came under a frenzied assault from their assailants in the main road outside. The fighting erupted after a mass funeral for five Copts who were killed during violent clashes in a north Egyptian town on Saturday.

Does this sound familiar? 1. A group of Americans on a diplomatic mission to reach out to Muslims are pinned down by al-Qaeda and come under overwhelming fire. 2. They repeatedly call for support fire missions, which are denied because they cannot absolutely guarantee no civilians are in the area. 3. A frustrated American warrior disobeys orders to go on what appears to be a suicide mission to try to save them.

So what lessons should Republicans learn from the 2016 election? I don’t think anyone other than me has thought to ask this question, as Republicans tend not to be very analytical. But I think the answer is pretty obvious when you look at the failure of their presidential candidate this year and the one in 2008: Republicans need to stop nominating right-wing extremists like John McCain and Mitt Romney. Obviously, the two most recent Republican presidential candidates were far too extreme to the right to be elected by the American public.

A group of whistleblowers, including a number of aviation experts, have come forward in a new documentary to claim that the official explanation for the crash of TWA Flight 800 was wrong and a gas tank explosion did not bring down the flight off the coast of Long Island 17 years ago. However, the six whistleblowers, all part of the original investigation team, stopped short of saying the plane was shot down. Flight 800, a Boeing 747, had just taken off from JFK airport with 230 people aboard on July 17, 1996 enroute to Paris when it exploded

An attorney whose firm represents two Benghazi whistleblowers said Gen. Martin Dempsey, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, lied to the Senate when he said there was never a “stand down” order during the Benghazi attack on Sept. 11, 2012. “What was fascinating is that he explained his lie to them,” Joe DiGenova, an attorney representing one of the whistleblowers, told CNSNews.com. “He actually said they were sent to Tripoli. They were needed in Benghazi,” said DiGenova, a former U.S. attorney, now with the Washington firm of DiGenova & Toensing.

Likening religious schools to segregation--a racist system that forced blacks to attend different schools and use different facilities than whites in the American South--President Barack Obama told a town hall meeting for youth in Belfast, Northern Ireland on Monday that there should not be Catholic and Protestant schools because such schools cause division. "Because issues like segregated schools and housing, lack of jobs and opportunity--symbols of history that are a source of pride for some and pain for others--these are not tangential to peace; they’re essential to it,"

Amid a steady rise of backlash, Edward Snowden, the 29-year-old former National Security Agency contractor who was the source of a spring of leaks about the agency´s surveillance methods, conducted a live chat on The Guardian´s website Monday morning. Judging from some of the pointed questions he´s been asked and the reaction to newly leaked revelations over the past few days, it´s clear that much of the sympathy and support Snowden had built up for his early exposures is eroding. Many Americans supported his decision to leak information about a pair of National Security Agency surveillance programs, which, he detailed, gathered information

Listening to Barack Obama give his speech in Belfast on Monday, it was hard not to stifle a yawn. I kept waiting for the part when he would say something interesting, but, about three quarters of the way through, realised it wasn’t going to come. Judging from television pictures some of his young audience felt the same, after the initial rush of euphoria of receiving the rock star president in their midst had passed. This is not surprising, for we had already heard this number about the inspirational role of the Northern Ireland peace process and the Emerald Isle’s

Celebrity chef Paula Deen admitted in a recorded deposition to telling racist jokes, using the N-word, and planning a slavery-themed wedding, according to multiple reports. The May 17 deposition where she made the alleged admissions is part of a $1.2 million lawsuit brought by Lisa Jackson, the former manager of a Savannah, Georgia, restaurant run by Deen and her brother Bubba Hiers. Jackson alleges in the suit that Deen used the N-word at the restaurant and that Hiers sexually harassed her. According to the reports, in the deposition, Deen replied “Yes, of course,”

This is the thirtieth anniversary of the publication of How Democracies Perish, an analysis of the spread of world communism by Jean-François Revel, one of freedom´s most serious French defenders since Tocqueville. At the heart of this work, Revel details "The Tools of Communist Expansion," among which the most relevant for understanding our current situation comes in Chapter 16, "Ideological Warfare and Disinformation." The profound simplicity of Revel´s nuts and bolts account of totalitarianism´s Cold War advance, far from being obsolete
