for Wednesday

HONOLULU- U.S. President Barack Obama heads back to Washington from Hawaii Wednesday, cutting his Christmas vacation short. First lady Michelle Obama and his daughters will not accompany him when he boards Air Force One at Hickam Air Force Base in Honolulu for a red-eye flight. The president is returning to Washington, hoping to reach agreement with Congress to avert the so-called "fiscal cliff," the combination of automatic tax increases and spending cuts scheduled to kick in Jan. 1.

Short? Yes he´s a saint and a martyr. But wasn´t the problem there before he left? And doesn´t this give Michelle an excuse to luxuriate in the islands a while longer and take Air Force Chew thus doubling the cost of the transportation?

Does this family truly enjoy their time together? From news of the last few days, since they arrived in Hawaii Obama has played golf, worked out, played golf - all with his men friends. And now Mo and the girls remain on vacation while he returns to DC.

Obama will surely return to Hawaii on Friday evening, possibly with Reggie Love, who Mooch does not allow aboard AF1 when she is aboard. BO will fly back to WH next Wednesday with Reggie if a cliff deal has been reached with a mentally exhausted Boehner. With a smirking expression at his "I won, again" announcement that he has saved the last several hundred middle class families known to exist, he will return to Hawaii for an extended vacation.

Before heading off for golf, Obama will announce that Joe Biden will head a study on how to save those remaining middle class families from extinction.

I hardly think a flight from Hawaii on AF1 qualifies as a
´red-eye flight.´ Mercy! Speaking of ´lap of luxury!´

Skyways cleared of riff-raff flights of ordinary citizens for a bullet run at max. cruising speed!

What a waste of (our) money! It only takes a few million to fly AF1 to Hawaii, and then the Obamas always end up using multiple aircraft for all their vacations (including one for Bo). One would think that he, and all of Congress, for that matter, would have stayed in DC to try to resolve this crisis. Better yet, they could/should have done something months ago, but getting reelected was more important. They have no regard for we taxpayers/business people/families, insofar as our need to try to do intelligent financial, tax and estate planning. I wish they would do something intelligent for a change.

Too bad. He´s President. He´s a grown up. I am so tired of hearing how he´s cutting his vacation short, and that it´s the first "real" vacation in over a year (really? Even if we only count last Christmas, it´s a year) and on and on. 4 more years.

When a video of high school student Jeff Bliss calling out his teacher went viral, a lot of people started talking about the state of our education system and ways to improve it. However, almost a year since the video was posted, not much has changed. In fact, many would say that with the extension of Common Core curriculum across most of the country, it has actually gotten worse. Take this attempted explanation of Common Core’s approach to math: (Letter & Charts) How is this helping? In man-on-the-street interviews held in front of the NRA’s headquarters in Virginia, anti-gun protestors shared some true gems of logic: Only law enforcement officers should be allowed to use weapons ~30,000 Americans die every year due to gun violence ~Gun violence is the NRA’s fault ~The majority of Americans want these (gun control) laws passed ~Only the second comment really deserves a response. In 2010, just over eleven thousand homicides in this country were due to the use of firearms. The thirty-thousand figure is composed of all deaths due to firearms, regardless of the situation, and the word ‘violent’ is

It´s not just carriage horse drivers saying neigh to plans for vintage cars tooling around Central Park. The Central Park Conservancy, the nonprofit organization that manages the city’s most famous greenspace, is coming out against a proposal backed by Mayor de Blasio to replace the horse-drawn carriages with replica old-time cars. Doug Blonsky, the conservancy’s president & CEO, told the Daily News that introducing the electric vehicles to the park would be a bad idea. “Forty million people visit Central Park each year, including runners, bicyclists, kids and dog owners,” Blonsky said Wednesday. “Adding vehicles to the mix will make the

Shortly after 1 a.m. Wednesday, a 19-year-old in a hoodie and baggy jeans was captured on a grainy black-and-white surveillance video urinating into a reservoir that slakes the thirst of Portland, Ore.’s 600,000 or so residents. (Cue the disgusted “Ewwwwwwwws!” right here.) But really, Portland Water Bureau officials, do you have to flush 38 million gallons of potable water for the sake of a cup or two of human urine? That’s how much the bladder comfortably holds, although the bladder in question obviously wasn’t comfortable. We get the fact that Beervana prides itself on its water supply. The water bureau

BISMARCK, N.D. — A federal judge on Wednesday overturned a North Dakota law that bans abortions when a fetal heartbeat can be detected, which can be as early as six weeks into pregnancy and before many women know they’re pregnant. U.S. District Judge Daniel Hovland said the law is “invalid and unconstitutional” and that it “cannot withstand a constitutional challenge.” The state attorney general said he was looking at whether to appeal the decision by the Bismarck-based judge. North Dakota is among several conservative states that have passed new abortion restrictions in recent years, but abortion rights supporters called

The team behind the upcoming TV movie about convicted killer Kermit Gosnell counted on the public to help them fund their project. They said that the mainstream media and Hollywood didn´t give Gosnell´s horrific crimes the attention they deserved. The result? The most successful crowdfunding campaign in Indiegogo´s history, beating projects spearheaded by actors James Franco and Shemar Moore. Filmmakers Phelim McAleer and Ann McElhinney credit the support of popular actors Kevin Sorbo and Nick Searcy for starring in videos promoting the project. After devoting 15 minutes to a Barack Obama interview in the last 24 hours, CBS piled on with another seven minutes devoted to a "scary powerful" top aide. Charlie Rose offered a puff piece on Alyssa Mastromonaco, Obama´s deputy chief of staff. The CBS This Morning co-anchor on Thursday offered no tough questions and instead repeatedly underlined just how important she is. Rose marveled, "You know what somebody called you? Scary powerful." The co-host narrated, "We recently spoke to her about her low profile, high power role. Every time I read a piece about you, it talks about power."

Like him or hate him, there is no disputing that Rush Limbaugh’s very special brand of mixing right-wing politics with his flare for entertainment has produced one of the most successful radio programs in the medium’s long history. Whatever the burning political question of the day, millions of Americans have relished the opportunity to tune into Rush’s program, knowing that he would quickly take that hot potato, throw a few gallons of verbal kerosene into the mix and elevate the matter into a five alarm fire with a just a few well-chosen words spoken in the style only Rush Limbaugh could

When it comes to tracking the cost of Obama family vacations, there are two primary challenges. First, the Obamas are prolific jet-setters, so there are many details to track. Second, the Obama administration, clearly embarrassed by these lavish and frequent family vacations, stonewalls the release of records at every turn. But we have been relentless in pursuit of this information. Our attorneys file the lawsuits and make our case, and our investigators pour through pages of records and crunch the numbers. And the information we’ve uncovered – information that would otherwise remain under lock and key – shows that the

I live in Las Vegas. I live and breath Nevada politics. Something is very wrong. Something smells rotten in the Nevada desert. And Senator Harry Reid’s fingerprints are all over it. I am of course referring to the Bundy Ranch siege. This was a dispute between a Nevada ranching family with rights to the land in question for 140 years and the BLM (Bureayu of Land Management). The government claims they haven’t paid grazing fees for 20 years. The result was a government assault on the ranch- including snipers with assault rifles, SUV’s, helicopters, airplanes and over 200 heavily armed troops. No

Look, everyone loves Sean Connery, particularly Sean Connery. That’s why he plays Sean Connery in every movie he’s in. People love that Scottish brogue so much, they don’t mind that he has it when he plays Juan Sánchez Villa-Lobos Ramírez, an immortal Spaniard in Highlander. The guy even won an Oscar for playing an Irish cop with a Scottish accent. Talk about sexist double standards: Meryl Streep has to master foreign dialects to get her golden statuettes. Connery just has to show up on time. In economics you devalue a currency by printing too much of it. In film you
