Bo, Bo, Bo! Adorable White House

Michelle Obama is typically the star of the show when she attends a charity event. That wasn´t the case when she recently read Twas The Night Before Christmas at a Washington area children´s hospital. As she sat down on stage to begin reading the classic tale to the tiny tots, Bo the First Dog jumped right up on his mother´s lap. He seemed quite comfy as well, since he didn´t move from the position throughout the seven minute session.[Snip] That was no matter for Michelle, however, as she gamefully played along and even jokingly held the book out so that

Comments:
Bo was trained to do that--staged. Where´s M´s usual surliness? Botoxed out? Yes, it´s the Christmas season; yes, I´m jaded and cynical; no, I don´t have any evidence--do I need it this time?

May be botoxed, but most unattractive. You´d think her many makeup people could do a little better than that.

It´s Christmas give her a break.

A ticking click keeping time would be a scene stealer too vs wookie posturing.

All animals entering a hospital are supposed to be certified "service" dogs. And certified service dogs do NOT jump on people.

Absolutely no limit to the special privilege that the obama´s take.

One does wonder if it was staged, but from what else we´ve seen of Bo, he is probably untrained. (The Obamas are notorious rule-breakers.)

"Adorable W.H. dog"? Hardly. BTW, we´ll give them a "break" when they give US, a break on what it is costing US for THEIR many excellent adventures back and forth to whatever parts unknown they choose. Now the "family" and their clown-posse have to fly back to D.C. on separate jets, AGAIN at OUR expense, so that obama can have another photo-op to beat up on John Boehner and Republicans. A "break"? They don´t need one.

what a difference! Remember the Bush´s reading to children? A lot of the time, they were gathered right around the First Lady and the President.
Now they are many feet away behind a rope. Even the royals in England get closer.

Since it´s Christmas,I´m not going to beat up on this witch. However, if she and Barky had a third child by in-vitro fertilization and it was a boy , he would look like Bo.

And no one in the media smart enough to realize that the president named the dog after himself.

The Mail is hammering away on this cutesy story. Second article I´ve seen this morning.

The video shows that she plops down in the chair and promptly beckons to Bo to come into her lap, where she wrestles a bit to get him positioned just right. And she continues to stroke him.

She was not surprised. More Mail drama where there is none.

Re #5, the hospitals in our area allow certain dogs to be brought in to soothe and comfort patients. Especially in the rehab units. (They would not be in the CCU or other acute care areas.) None of these dogs is a certified service dog. Just mannerly pets.

Let me just say right off the bat that I have no intention of reading this article. I will, however, point out that the headline calls Bo the ´White House dog´, not ´the Obama´s dog´ or ´President Obama´s dog´, but the ´White House dog´. I find that interesting.

Was the dog named "Bo" in honor of his owner?

LBJ used to name everything he could with the moniker intials "LBJ"--Lady Bird Johnson, Lucy Baines Johnson, Linda Bird Johnson... he was a megalomaniac too, so...

If you watch the video, it is actually the little boy on the left who steals the spotlight. He keeps waving at someone off stage--his parents, presumably--and at the audience and reprimands Michelle when she isn´t letting the dog see the book (and can´t "read" it). He is more interested in the dog than the story or the First Lady.

Bo wants to sit on her lap and races to get there before the girls. Really? Girls that old want to sit on mommy´s lap? Enough! (and that goes for the girls always holding their parents´ hands. Sure.)

This is the dramatic moment a woman appears to remonstrate with a man carrying a knife following a brutal attack in Woolwich. The image shows a man wearing a brown jacket and carrying what appears to be a large knife, speaking to the woman beside a blue car which has significant damage to its front end at the scene where another man died following the attack. The two alleged attackers are thought to have waited around for 20 minutes until Metropolitan Police officers arrived and then tried to attack them--but were swiftly shot by armed policemen, including a woman.

On May 3 1999, Moore was one of several cities left devastated after 74 tornadoes touched down across Oklahoma and Kansas in just 21 hours. Following a path similar to yesterday´s lethal twister, the storms that struck the city 14 years ago to the month left 46 dead and 800 injured. Due to the high number of mobile homes and less robust housing in this part of the US, more than 8,000 homes were destroyed. It caused almost $1.5 billion in property damage making it the fourth costliest in the world. The National Weather Service also recorded wind speeds

Former Rep. I’m running for mayor because I’ve been fighting for the middle class and those struggling to make it for my entire life.

The dam protecting the IRS scandal began to crack today when Lois Lerner, the IRS official who announced, and apologized for, the improper singling out of conservative-leaning organizations by IRS employees under her command, announced through her criminal defense lawyer that she will not testify as scheduled tomorrow before the House Oversight Committee. Rather, she will assert her Fifth Amendment right against self-incrimination. This marks an enormous milestone in the IRS investigation. It can now be taken as more or less established that crimes were committed by Obama administration employees. Lerner’s lawyer tried to minimize the significance

The wheels came off the Obama administration yesterday. We learned of a startling assault on freedom of the press by the Department of Justice, following the revelation last week of the unprecedented information-gathering foray by that department against The Associated Press. Then, a few minutes later, the Justice Department’s inspector general released a report declaring that the US attorney in Arizona used the leak of a confidential memo to try to discredit a whistleblower in the notorious “gun-walking” scandal known as Fast and Furious (which got two federal agents killed). The leak was called “egregious.”

Lois Lerner, the head of the exempt organizations division of the IRS, won’t answer questions about what she knew about the improper screening – or why she didn’t reveal it to Congress, according to a letter from her defense lawyer, William W. The California Republican said Lerner’s Fifth Amendment right to avoid self-incrimination was voided when she gave an opening statement this morning denying any wrongdoing and professing pride in her government service. “When I asked her her questions from the very beginning, I did so so she could assert her rights prior to any statement,” Issa told POLITICO. “She chose not to do so — so she waived.”

Former Democratic National committee chairman Howard Dean considers the controversy over Benghazi a “joke” and “silly.” “Benghazi is a laughable joke,” Dean proclaimed twice in a discussion with Republican National Committee communications chairman Sean Spicer last week. “With all due respect, governor, when four Americans die serving this country, that’s not a joke, sir,” Spicer responded. “Oh, stop it,” said Dean. The former Democratic presidential candidate also said that there were “no serious questions being asked about Benghazi” and brushed it off as an effort by Republicans to score political points.
