| I have to admit to a certain amount of amusement at this petition to get Piers Morgan deported from the United States. As you can see, the petition itself has quite easily reached the numbers required to gain a response from the White House. There are a number of problems with the petition of course. The first one being that while what Morgan actually said (“You’re an unbelievably stupid man, aren’t you” being not the sort of thing we expect a TV host to say) is undoubtedly protected by the First Amendment. His bosses have every right to fire him if they want:

Ironically, the Brits really don´t want the fool back. I heard that the man he attacked was not a mental giant. But, that just shows what TV producers do to have their mental midget look good.

#2 Hey,it is Christmas -not a good idea to lump all Brits in your Limey Pukes definition of Piers Morgan - Piers must be judged on his own demerits and lapses of politeness, not necessarily shared by a great many who love America or who were once Brits now proud to be Americans.

The writer says “But the government almost certainly does not have the power to punish him for such statements and deportation would be a punishment by the government.”
That is incorrect. Here is a message on Twitter from James Taranto of the WSJ to Morgan:“Your opinion is protected, your presence in the U.S. is not. See Kleindienst v. Mandel (1972),” Taranto replied to Morgan.
Taranto linked to transcripts from a 1972 U.S. Supreme Court ruling that the U.S. Attorney General’s refusal to allow a foreign journalist into the United States did not violate the First Amendment. The case resulted from Nixon administration attorney general Richard Kleindienst’s refusal to grant a temporary nonimmigrant visa to Marxist Belgian journalist Ernest Mandel. (The Daily Caller)

What is truly dreadful is that after Morgan published photoshopped pictures and was roundly dismissed, CNN decides to hire him.
Perhaps the focus should be on them for hiring a man who clearly has no morals, much less any common decency or sense.
CNN is has become, along with MSNBC, an example of the depraved minds of elite liberals.

I have never seen the man´s program, nor do I ever watch the CNN channel. According to the ratings services, he is down near the bottom. Its sad that CNN has moved from a news channel to a sneaky slanted-Left partisan outlet. I know that from online comments, not from first hand viewing. Anyways, just don´t watch the channel and at some point Mr Morgan will be removed. I don´t believe that you can deport a person just because you do not agree with their opinion. That´s not the American way. Best to just contact CNN and voice YOUR opinion.

WASHINGTON - There were new questions Saturday night concerning if anyone in the White House was aware of the IRS´ targeting of conservative groups. Inspector General Russell George said he informed a deputy at the Treasury Department in June of 2012 about the probe into the IRS. The Treasury Department confirmed the timeline but said they did not know the details of the investigation until last week.(Snip)Marcus Owens ran the tax-exempt division at the IRS for 10 years. Treasury Secretary Jack Lew on Friday urged congressional leaders to raise the debt limit and insisted that the White House is not going to negotiate over the increase because lawmakers have "no choice." "We will not negotiate over the debt limit," Lew wrote. "The creditworthiness of the United States is non-negotiable. House Oversight Committee Chairman Darrell Issa (R-Calif.) formally demanded that retired ambassador Thomas Pickering submit to being deposed by the committee next Thursday.
