Boehner´s tactics
leave supporters puzzled

Conservative congressmen don´t question House Speaker John Boehner´s dedication to the cause. But as chaos overtakes GOP efforts to prevent a Jan. 1 tax hike, members do have doubts about his effectiveness. Here´s the latest turn of events: Over the summer, House Republicans passed a bill extending the Bush-era tax rates, which are set to expire, resulting in higher rates Jan. 1. That was Boehner´s Plan A. Senate Democrats said no, and so Boehner rolled out Plan B: extend current rates for all income below $1 million, and rein in Social Security spending.

Comments:
The problem is that Weepy Bonehead really, really believes he can negotiate with Obama.
Of course, that implies that Obama means what he says (ha !) and will keep any promises made (chortle, guffaw !)
The time has come to pass a bare bones budget ( NO funding for EPA, Dept of Energy, Dept of Education, TSA and 10 % cuts across the board for the rest) along with a proposal to cut taxes by 10 % for all, send it to the Senate and WH with a Take it or leave it message.

Scorched earth policy, in other words.

I´d like to see a 25% cut across ALL agencies...except the military. I will settle for 10% cut there but we need to retire all the excess brass.

Republicans need to stop playing to the nation and start just playing to their constituents. When the press asks a Republican Congressmen some question about national sentiment, he needs to answer some variation of the following, "I wasn´t elected to represent the nation. I was elected by my district to do what they and I believe is best for the country. I don´t represent everybody. I only represent my district. If you are concerned about what the whole country thinks, go ask the President."

My guess is Reid and McConnell will come up with a 2 month extension that´ll run through the next debt ceiling increase at the end of Feb. Obama will fly back in town long enough to sign it and waste another million on plane trips.

I don´t think a big payroll handler like ADP can turn on a dime and start taking more money out.Obama also never gave 2 month warnings of layoffs to military contractors which to me means something is in the bag.Of course he could always violate the law and surprise no one.

Well, I think it´s pretty much a done deal. I am going to go out on a limb and say, I bet Øbama and the Dems come back post -Xmas, only hours left to legilate, and go full court press for their version of a bill- and the Pubbies will not co-operate with it- calling it outright coercion - and then, we go to the edge of oblivion and over- Dems gleeful and the rush will be on for the so-called "President" to take over everything- "Save us!" they will be shouting and Øbama will rush to his nanny, Valerie Jarrett and say, "Tell me what you want me to do!". From then on- the long march to slavery for the American people will be a well guided course.

Why is Tammy Faye Boehner always looking at cutting Social Security. Why doesn´t he loook at cutting welfare or unemployment or SSI or .... Or maybe even the perks our electeds so enjoy while working 100+ days a year. I seem to remember having Social Security deductions taken out my paycheck for around 42 years.

Obama can keep rates at their current level indefinitely while negotiations continue. It´s one of the powers of the Presidency. Other presidents have done it. I think #3 is right, a negotiated extension, the debt ceiling rises 2.5 trillion, taxes go up, nothing happens on entitlements. Credit downgrade soon to follow.

I think Boehner´s done a creditable job with the hand he was dealt with Obama´s re-election and the disposition of the MSM. We´d be no better off right now if anyone else had been heading the GOP House effort. Some here might have been more entertained, but no better off.

I think I am starting to understand the Kabuki theater between Obama and some Republican traitors. Remember when Obama made a show of disrespecting the supreme court during one of his SOTU speeches? So we all thought, there must be bad blood between Obama and the Conservative supremes. But then when the supreme court had the chance to disqualify Obama´s Healthcare disaster, along comes the traitor Justice Roberts practically falling all over himself to save Obama´s plan. Lately I see that Obama has made a show of being at odds with Republican Speaker of the House Boehner. So we are all supposed to think, gee there must be bad blood between Obama and Boehner? So who do you think is ready to make a secret deal with Obama so he can continue his reckless spending? Bingo - Boehner. Let´s dump Boehner now before he becomes another Justice Roberts. Even Kabuki theater can be deciphered once in a while.

Well #6, that is because you have been lied to for 42 years. You have as much legal right to your social security benefits they have taken out of your pay last 42 years as I have the right´s to the white house property. Your SS taxes are just that, a tax! Thinking it´s "your" money is all part of the lie. It´s not your money!

The first statement of the post about Conservatives thoughts on Boehner is fallacious. He;s a quack-Liberal posing as a Republican. His cause is every bit as much for big government as any Obamamite.

The only reason they´re not openly saying so is they still hope to salvage something out of his mess.

That "conservative congressmen" do not question bonehead´s dedication to the cause, speaks volumes on where these RINOs, (bonehead AND the " conservative congressmen"), have gotten us.

President Barack Obama offered on Saturday to provide any assistance the Algerian government needs after a deadly hostage siege at a desert gas plant and said the United States was seeking a "fuller understanding" from Algerian authorities of what took place there. "The thoughts and prayers of the American people are with the families of all those who were killed and injured in the terrorist attack in Algeria," Obama said in his first comments on the hostage crisis.

GOP Strategy and the Fiscal Cliff

Both Speaker John Boehner and media analysts have been spun into a state of confusion by the fiscal cliff issue and President Obama´s reelection. The fiscal cliff exists because the president and the GOP Congress could not decide in 2011 on a permanent general policy toward the budget. And now the president has added another factor: he is determined to usurp the Congressional authority to raise the debt ceiling. If the budget goes over the cliff, two things will happen: tax rates on everyone will rise, and across the board spending cuts will be made.

Earlier this year, the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra (ASO) decided to disinvite two predominantly white high school choral groups from performance in the ASO´s holiday concert. The ASO´s decision was reportedly motivated by the high schools´ lack of diversity, which caused a stir among people who believe in racial justice as opposed to racial favoritism.

At a recent exhibition against Maria Sharapova in Brazil, the former world No. 1 stuffed courtside towels down her kit to replicate the body of the curvaceous Grand Slam champion. But now the 22-year-old Dane, whose boyfriend golfer Rory McIlroy was in the crowd, has now been accused of racism by some observers.

President Obama addressed the White House press corps today, announcing that with the final numbers in, Obamacare´s exchanges have attracted eight million sign-ups -- 35 percent of whom are "under the age of 35," he said. Several elements of his comments were misleading: (1) At first blush, the 35 percent stat is both significant and impressive. As recently as last month, the share of "young invincibles" signing up for plans was struggling in the 25 percent range, far short of the actuarial target of nearly 40 percent. A leap into the mid-30´s, while still shy of the goal, would constitute a major step, and would bode well for the risk pools'

He hasn’t paid grazing fees since 1993, and refuses to renew the necessary grazing permit.(Snip)Rather than using the avenues and pathways presented to him, Bundy has staunchly declared his own law and allegiances. The White House is going to war with another fox — and this time, it’s personal. The Wall Street Journal reports that a red fox has been causing chaos around the White House, tripping security alarms, digging up Michelle’s garden and distracting the president from his duties. The Secret Service won’t give any details about how often the fox trips the White House’s obviously sophisticated security alarms, but rest assured, officials say, they’re watching. President Obama was apparently “stunned” to see the fox roaming freely down the oft-photographed White House colonnade, home to the world’s shortest, but most dramatic, outdoor strolls. These are some of the measures — some would say gimmicks — that golf courses across the country have experimented with to stop people from quitting the game. Golf has always reveled in its standards and rich tradition. But increasingly a victim of its own image and hidebound ways, golf has lost five million players in the last decade, according to the National Golf Foundation, with 20 percent of the existing 25 million golfers apt to quit in the next few years. To "honor the dignity and work of immigrants," Democratic House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi helps Bishop Marc Andrus wash the feet of two children Thursday at Saint John the Evangelist Episcopal Church in San Francisco. Pelosi also used the occasion to talk about passing HR15 - bipartisan immigration legislation that her office says would "reduce the deficit by nearly $1 trillion, secure our borders, unite our families, protect our workers and provide an earned pathway to citizenship." The Democratic leader´s ceremony coincides with Pope Francis´ similar ceremony in Rome to mark Holy Week.
