A gunman shot four firefighters and killed two of them at the scene of a house fire in the upstate New York town of Webster on Monday morning, officials said. Details were still emerging as the Monroe County Sherrif´s Office said there could be more than one shooter involved in the attack near Rochester. Authorities didn´t say whether they had apprehended any suspects, but were combing the area.Fire crews were called to the scene on Lake Road just after 5:30 a.m. The shooting, however, forced officials to halt fighting the blaze, which spread to two other neighboring homes,
This is awful, but it´s nothing new in some bad urban areas. Why gangstas would want to shoot firemen is unclear, but it happens. (Quite possibly the shooters are morons.)Remember during Katrina, when people on rooftops shot at their rescuers?
I wonder if the firefighters were white and shooters were black. I´m just curious. If so we will never know due to the msm hiding black on white attacks. If it was reversed it would be front page headline material.
I have some first hand knowledge in this area and I can tell you assults such as this is NOT reported by the MSM. Also the number of criminal acts, conducted by a certain group are not reported and if so some are reported under categories that do not discribe in incident by the law departments and again the MSM.
Like I´ve said before, evil is on the march like we have not seen in a very long time. It is not finished. The worst thing we can do is allow ourselves to be made defenseless. We all know that is part of evil´s plan.
This article ends with the reminder about Newtown. Another article about this fire from the AP ended with a reminder of the violence in this small community last December. A 15-year-old boy in Webster doused his home with gasoline and set it ablaze, killing his father and two brothers, 16 and 12. His mother and 13-year-old sister escaped with injuries. He is being prosecuted as an adult. In large groups now, I look at all the young males with suspicion.
Oakland is an example of a town where this kind of thing regularly happens. A lot of rough spots have seen this kind of thing. This is not new.
Naturally, the media wants to rush out the first rumors of the incident before any specifics are known. Get everyone freaked out: "guns! guns! guns!" and then, when they find out specific demographics and such ... story´s gone. But the initial reaction remains with the emotionalist puppets.
Yes evil is everywhere now. I am twlling you that mass media glorification of evil is making things a LOT worse. While certain groups are being affected worse than others (yes, I concede that there is a lot more violence among blacks and other people of color these days), it does seem to be mostly prevalent among younger males of all races.
However, with regard to this incident, my first instinct was that the shooter(s) was the arsonist as #15 said.
#11 and #21 should cite evidence for what is certainly an urban myth...34 Blacks died in the Watts riots...there were reports some firefighter crews were blocked from fires...my son rose through the ranks of the LAFD over two decades, from his first station assignment in Watts, and didn´t experience being fired upon...ditto his wife, a LAPD sargeant...SOP is for firefighters and EMS roll with LAPD during a riot and even to delay approaches to the every day crime scene until it´s cleared...
Clearly the link noted in #30 is not the most definitive, because that’s where I went to obtain the MLK, Jr. quote about 34 Blacks dieing which is not correct…Among the 34 was a White firefighter who died when a wall collapsed while fighting a blaze and an officer who was accidentally shot by another officer…
John McCone headed the post riot commission and it IS definitive…met this good man and former CIA director in the late 60’s in his capacity as a member of LA’s Committee of 25 which effectively ran every component of SoCal public life…McCone elected to focus on Blacks
It is reported that ONE shooter is dead at the scene. It may or not be related, but I´m guessing that the shooter is the same guy who was tried, convicted and served 17 years for the manslaughter murder of his grandmother who owned one of the houses that burned. The convict was released in the 1990s. Two of the 4 houses were owned by his family. I don´t think anyone was shot with a handgun. No description of the weapon used, yet.
His name was William Spangler. He lived in the house with his sister, who has not been accounted for. He set the house and a car afire to lure the firefighters there. His body was found on the lake shore; he had shot himself to death.
It´s unknown why he wanted to ambush the firemen.
Spangler has a long criminal record; he was convicted of murdering his grandmother in 1980.
Where´s the outrage over the ease with which Americans can purchase as many hammers as they want? This insane shooter beat his own mother to death with a hammer several years ago. If he had not been able to get his hands on a hammer, his mother would be alive today.

The sad irony is that the media´s 24/7 coverage of these events is actually feeding them. These nut jobs are counting on lots of media coverage. If the media spent less time publicizing these events trying to pursue their anti-gun agenda, my guess is that we would see fewer of these events.
Why was the perpetrator out running around after being convicted of murdering his grandmother by repeatedly hitting her in the head with a hammer?
He has already smelled human blood. If he were a bear in the wild and killed a human, they would have hunted him down and killed him on sight. I am not advocating that, but it is obvious that the perpetrator here was a dangerous mental case, he should have been locked up for life.
They say that they can´t find his sister, unfortunately she is probably a murder victim and burnt up in the remains of the house.
Since this perpetrator is a convicted felon and is crazy, the law says that he is prohibited from possessing firearms, but criminals don´t obey the law. The perpetrator here is exactly the type of person that law abiding people have firearms to protect themselves from.
SHAW AIR FORCE BASE, S.C. -Officials at Shaw Air Force Base are trying to determine what to do about a holiday display after a Nativity scene was taken down last week. Air Force spokeswoman Lt. Keavy Rake said Tuesday a Nativity display was set up Friday by a group of volunteers from the base chapel at a small lake on the installation. The site was near where a tree lighting ceremony was scheduled Friday evening. Rake says the Military Religious Freedom Foundation lodged a complaint about the display through the Air Force in Washington. Paul Loebe, spokesman for the foundation, said
Majority Leader Harry Reid says the Senate will not extend current farm law if Congress can´t agree on a new farm bill before adjourning next week. House leaders have reserved space on their agenda this week for extending the current law until the end of January. Lawmakers fear that milk prices might rise sharply if dairy subsidies expire Jan. 1. The House and Senate have passed separate versions, but with widespread differences over crop subsidies and how much to cut food stamps. House Speaker John Boehner said last week that the House should extend the current law while negotiators seek
WASHINGTON — Majority Democrats in the Senate won approval Tuesday for one of President Barack Obama´s key judicial nominees, the first of his picks to win confirmation since they weakened the chamber´s filibuster rules. Senators voted 56-38 to approve Washington lawyer Patricia Millett to join the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia, the nation´s second most powerful court. Both sides saw Millett´s appointment as pivotal. It will give Democratic-appointed judges a 5-4 majority over those chosen by Republican presidents for that court, which rules on the legality of White House actions and federal agency regulations. Obama praised
In response to Dylan Byers: MSNBC Is Everything the Left Accuses Fox News of Being: The Byers criticism of MSNBC was interesting and significant because it exists at all, but he´s still praising them with faint damn. He goes out of his way to drag Fox down to their level over and over again; he´s willing to concede that MSNBC might be as bad as Fox, when to any objective observer, there is simply no comparison. MSNBC is a gutter-dwelling performance-art interpretation of a shrieking-loon far left website, not a news channel with a high percentage of left-leaning opinion.
Environmental Protection Agency employees received light punishments for “employee integrity” violations and avoided prosecution when crimes allegedly occurred, according to the agency’s inspector general. The IG revealed a list of employee integrity violations that included assault, illegal possession of a weapon, and efforts to solicit improper personal payments from agency contractors, among other violations. Many received light punishments for the offenses, including ethics counseling, short leaves of absence, and informal discussions with supervisors. One employee was sentenced to 18 months of probation for attempting to carry a knife, stashed in one of his shoes, onto a plane. Despite the criminal prosecution, the
The Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) is spending an additional $55 million to “bolster” the healthcare workforce, as Obamacare contributes to shortages in the industry. HHS Secretary Kathleen Sebelius announced last week that her agency will provide over 270 grants “from diversity to dentistry” to address worker shortages in the healthcare industry. The funding includes $45.4 million to support the nursing workforce, $5.2 million of which will go towards “improving nursing diversity.” The grants also provide $2.4 million for training of doctoral-level psychologists to “address the behavioral health needs of vulnerable and underserved populations,” and $3 million to support
Office Depot said Tuesday it has chosen Boca Raton, Fla. for its new headquarters over Naperville. Office Depot completed its merger with Naperville-based OfficeMax last month, but the pair hadn´t yet announced where the combined company would be based. The companies asked for tax breaks from both states. Illinois lawmakers adjourned last week before making a decision. Last month, the company named Roland Smith, the former head of the U.S. unit of supermarkets operator Delhaize Group, as its new CEO, hoping to tap into his turnaround and integration background. The company said the evaluation of its headquarters selection was based
On his way to the podium at the memorial ceremony for former South African president Nelson Mandela, President Obama walked down the line of dignitaries, greeting other leaders there to pay their respects. Among the hands shaken: that of Cuban leader Raul Castro. Obama neither made a special effort to shake Castro’s hand nor to avoid him. A snub might have been awkward: In his speech, Obama praised Mandela’s “greatest gift” as “his recognition that we are all bound together in ways that can be invisible to the eye; that there is a oneness to humanity; that we achieve ourselves by
The Obama State Department has finally released a second round of photos revealing the harrowing devastation wrought by a terrorist attack on the U.S. Consulate in Benghazi on Sept. 11, 2012. The new photographs depict rampant damage to the consulate. They show charred walls, smoldering fires, Arabic graffiti defacing exterior walls, and scattered debris throughout. The extent of the damage would lead any reasonably serious person to conclude that this was a cold, calculated attack, carefully coordinated to mark the 11th anniversary of Sept. 11, 2001. Unfortunately for the American people, the Obama-Clinton-Rice cabal that led to the Benghazi cover-up was
A black fashion student says he was brutally attacked by a gang of Hasidic men who shouted anti-gay slurs at him while he was walking through Williamsburg after a night of partying, the Daily News has learned. Taj Patterson, 22, was headed home to Fort Greene around 4:30 a.m. on Dec. 1 when he says more than a dozen ultra-Orthodox Jewish men began assaulting him on Flushing Ave. and yelling, “Stay down, f----t!”
A “presidential selfie” featuring President Barack Obama, British Prime Minister David Cameron, and Denmark’s Prime Minister Helle Thorning-Schmidt at Nelson Mandela’s memorial service began making the rounds this morning, but it’s the person not included in the frame who caught everyone’s attention: As anyone with two eyes and a Twitter account has noticed, Michelle Obama does not appear amused. Of course, though a picture says a thousand words, not all of those words are necessarily true. FLOTUS might not have even known the photo was taking place. Or she could disapprove of funeral selfies. Either way.
Just how much do many Hollywood liberals hate conservatives? In an interview with Playboy, Ben Affleck said, "When I watch a guy [on film] I know is a big Republican, part of me thinks, I probably wouldn’t like this person if I met him": PLAYBOY: You developed a political profile campaigning for presidential candidates Al Gore, John Kerry and Barack Obama. How did that come about? AFFLECK: I grew up in a house with a mother who was a teacher and a Freedom Rider—very left-wing Democrats living in a heterogeneous working-class neighborhood. I picked up a lot of those values there, and I
MSNBC host Melissa Harris-Perry opened her program over the weekend with a commentary about the Affordable Care Act’s colloquial moniker: “Obamacare.” She said that the word was originally created as a “derogatory term,” designed by white men as a way to delegitimize President Barack Obama and his achievement. However, she said that the term will soon be synonymous with all of Obama’s accomplishments and she urged her audience to use the term with pride. “I want to talk today about a controversial word. It’s a word that has been with us for years, and like it or not, it’s indelibly
Barack Obama has arrived in South Africa to lead the American delegation at a memorial service for former South African President Nelson Mandela in Johannesburg.
