| Both Speaker John Boehner and media analysts have been spun into a state of confusion by the fiscal cliff issue and President Obama´s reelection. The fiscal cliff exists because the president and the GOP Congress could not decide in 2011 on a permanent general policy toward the budget. And now the president has added another factor: he is determined to usurp the Congressional authority to raise the debt ceiling. If the budget goes over the cliff, two things will happen: tax rates on everyone will rise, and across the board spending cuts will be made.

Comments: When will Weepy learn that there is no ´negotiating´ with Bambi ?
Let the ´fiscal cliff´ happen, then send a bare-bones budget to the Senate and WH with the message ´take it or leave it´.
And please, no more of this ´continuing resolutions´ cr*p; do what the Constitution mandates.

A Democrat cannot allow spending cuts. He simply cannot.
"Don´t call my bluff," anyone?

Op is right on! No more of these continuing resolutions which do nothing more than spend trillions of dollars we don´t have for whole programs and departments we don´t need!!! In addition these resolutions allow the Senate Democrats to not even propose a budget. Just follow the Constitution for once!!!!

Okay- thinking time: We go over to the oblivion- that´s what it is really, because no one knows what will happen. Here is a possibility- People will suffer from the recession and suffer again with the outrage of Øbama Care taxes- 2 grand a year! Yikes! That´s a lot of oatmeal, eh? We start seeing mass layoffs, food lines and "Øbama-villes" sprouting up like asparagus shoots under a wet oak tree. The government then become a very strange thing- just as under Roosevelt with the Great Depression. Desperate people don´t give a hoot whose fault it is- they just want a slice of bread for their kids every day- and really, that´s all they want! Government then has free license to do anything they want, including force people into work camps- remember, that´s exactly what CCCP and WPA was! Prison for idled youth and unemployed men, desperate to get food for their families! Prisons overflowed and pain was common- children died, and the media refused to even mention them- It took John Steinbeck to bring the real picture of what America was becoming to the public- the gvt and media kept right on painting Roosevelt cheery picture and carrying his line of "Hopeful" BS- the public, in desperation, kept right on re-electing that a-hat! This fall will not be one bit different and that is what Valerie jarrett knows!

Aternative Minimum Tax will probably hit half of all middle class taxpayers.
Those on entitlements actually make as much as the middle class, after taxes. As a landlord, I have seen $30,000 a year many times.
Both will see incomes shrink, if the ´fiscal cliff´ occurs. QE´s amounting to $1 Trillion a year, will continue to inflate the money supply. This will shrink incomes of everyone. Merry Christmas.

All the people who voted for Obama, should put their money where their vote went - a vote for big government. They -dragging the other 47% with them - need to support total return to Clinton era taxes. You won so now you pay the freight. All my Obama friends will of course squeal like stuck pigs. They deserve nothing less.

The GOP has no strategy other than keeping their little plush lives inside the Beltway preserved, and that happens no matter who´s in power, so they just don´t give a tinker´s damn.

The legislation to increase taxes on everyone and cut spending a little is already done. This will result in increased government revenue of 4.6 trillion over 10 years and cuts of 1 trillion. Republicans should go into the debt limit talks demanding that the President match the new revenue 3:1 with cuts, or 14 trillion over 10 years.

President Barack Obama offered on Saturday to provide any assistance the Algerian government needs after a deadly hostage siege at a desert gas plant and said the United States was seeking a "fuller understanding" from Algerian authorities of what took place there. "The thoughts and prayers of the American people are with the families of all those who were killed and injured in the terrorist attack in Algeria," Obama said in his first comments on the hostage crisis. Conservative congressmen don´t question House Speaker John Boehner´s dedication to the cause. But as chaos overtakes GOP efforts to prevent a Jan. 1 tax hike, members do have doubts about his effectiveness. Here´s the latest turn of events: Over the summer, House Republicans passed a bill extending the Bush-era tax rates, which are set to expire, resulting in higher rates Jan. 1. That was Boehner´s Plan A. Senate Democrats said no, and so Boehner rolled out Plan B: extend current rates for all income below $1 million, and rein in Social Security spending.

Earlier this year, the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra (ASO) decided to disinvite two predominantly white high school choral groups from performance in the ASO´s holiday concert. The ASO´s decision was reportedly motivated by the high schools´ lack of diversity, which caused a stir among people who believe in racial justice as opposed to racial favoritism. PRINCE Harry has killed his first Taliban commander, The Sun can reveal. The 28-year-old gunship co-pilot was called on to unleash a missile strike to eliminate a senior terror leader. Harry has proved a massive hit with comrades in Helmand, Afghanistan, who have nicknamed him Big H. A defence insider said: "Big H is a legend. “We were on patrol and the Apache helicopters were called in. We heard this posh voice come over the radio and knew it was Big H. They were tracking a Taliban leader — he was commander level. Text added by Staff.

New York - Federal agents raided an eastern Connecticut gun shop on Thursday, the same gun shop that sold one of the weapons used by the Newtown elementary school shooter. Agents with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms, assisted by police, moved in on Riverview Sales at 4 Prospect Hill Road in East Windsor at around 5:15 p.m., reported Len Besthoff of CBS 2 sister station WFSB in Hartford. What did President Obama do on the evening of 9/11/12 when our men were under attack in Benghazi? The invaluable Andrew McCarthy reminds us that Obama and Secretary Clinton had a 10:00 p.m. phone call of which many (including, I think, Chris Wallace) have lost sight. This morning when Wallace asked Obama aide Dan Pfeiffer what Obama was up to that evening, Pfeiffer declared the line of inquiry “offensive.” Translation: Obama and his minions would prefer to “move on” and are warning the likes of FNC off:(Snip for video)The Weekly Standard’s Daniel Halper has posted the rush transcript

PRESIDENT OBAMA: You are the mantle of Frederick Douglass and Booker T. Washington and Ralph Bunche and Langston Hughes and George Washington Carver and Ralph Abernathy and Thurgood Marshall and, yes, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. These men were many things to many people and they knew full well the role that racism played in their life. But when it came to their own accomplishments and sense of purpose, they had no time for excuses. Every one of you has a grandma or an uncle or a parent whose told you at some point in life

WASHINGTON – The Internal Revenue Serviced scandal today spread further within the White House and closer to President Obama. White House spokesman Jay Carney today disclosed that Obama’s chief of staff, Dennis McDonough, and other top White House officials had advance warning that the IRS was targeting conservative groups. But he insisted McDonough and the other White House officials purposely kept Obama out of the loop.McDonough “rightly chose not to take action” to inform Obama, Carney told reporters at the daily White House briefing.

The Washington Post on Monday reported that Obama’s Department of Justice was investigating journalists before they started wiretapping the Associated Press – for one, Fox News correspondent James Rosen in 2010. Their headline wasn´t "Obama Team Also Spied on Fox News." Fox wasn´t in the headline, on A-1 or on A-12, where the story continued. Newly obtained court documents “reveal how deeply investigators explored the private communications of a working journalist — and raise the question of how often journalists have been investigated as closely as Rosen was in 2010.” Reporter Ann Marimow began:

"Can you see in your mind´s eye a way that this might not have been political, that this was a misguided stupid way to sort, but that they didn´t intend it to be some kind of political attempt to harass the Tea Party?" So actually asked CNN´s Candy Crowley of her guest Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) concerning the Internal Revenue Service scandal Sunday (video follows with transcript and commentary):CANDY CROWLEY, HOST: Moving on to the IRS problem at this moment, which is really sort of in its infancy. There will be lots more hearings coming up this week

A senior adviser to President Obama mounted a combative defense of the administration on Sunday, saying the controversies enveloping the White House were the result of Republican lawmakers’ trying to “drag Washington into a swamp of partisan fishing expeditions, trumped-up hearings and false allegations.”The remarks came from Dan Pfeiffer, a member of the president’s inner circle, as he appeared on all five major Sunday morning talk shows in an effort to move the administration past what commentators have described as a “hell week” of controversy and missteps.

Stuart Varney said this morning on "Varney & Co." that one of his producers was given a questionnaire with some surprisingly intrusive questions on it when he switched doctors. One of the questions was whether he/she was concerned about unsecured weapons in the home. Another asked whether he/she was "in a relationship in which you have been physically hurt or are you afraid of your partner?" Judge Andrew Napolitano explained that the question about guns comes out of a post-Sandy Hook executive order by President Obama, but it will be required under Obamacare. Varney expressed amazement
