PRINCE Harry has killed his first Taliban commander, The Sun can reveal. The 28-year-old gunship co-pilot was called on to unleash a missile strike to eliminate a senior terror leader. Harry has proved a massive hit with comrades in Helmand, Afghanistan, who have nicknamed him Big H. A defence insider said: "Big H is a legend. “We were on patrol and the Apache helicopters were called in. We heard this posh voice come over the radio and knew it was Big H. They were tracking a Taliban leader — he was commander level.

Irresponsible reporting ! This man must live the remainder of his life in a fishbowl, and this report puts him in lifelong danger.
Very foolish.

Disagree #1. If I were a subject in England, I would much rather have Harry as my king than his retarded isolated cocooned father.

To address specifically #1´s complaint. It is not news that he is an apache gunner. The article gives no indication of his current location.

Good job, Harry. Kill a few more.

#1 & #4,

The incident happened in October and is being reported now. Looks like there´s been some control on release of information.

Aren´t the brits brining a bunch of their soldiers home right now? I suspect Big H is on the list.

This is what the news media does, create controversy, no matter who they victimize in the end. That´s how they sell their newspapers.

Harry is part of a big flying team over there, it is not like he would ever be in a one on one duel with some Taliban commander like this newspaper makes out for a lot of stupid readers. It´s almost impossible for the Taliban to single out Harry, as they don´t know where is is located. For that matter, he may be flying with a US Apache unit as a head fake to the Taliban. Harry will soon be finishing his current tour in that hell hole anyway.

The news of it just now being released- obviously putting Harry in line for at least a DSO or/and possibly a DFC, (kings must have medals, you know) meas he is on the way home or already in a very safe place, possibly Gibraltar. No way the Brits would release this info if H was still in the armpit. Too much danger of retaliation or worse, what if they actually shot him down or he accidentally crashed- can you imagine the outrage of the Brits watching H´s body being dragged down a dirt road behind a donkey?

Harry, you are a mensch. Too bad that you are serving at a time when the British military are being downsized and given little to do.

I still love you man.

I believe Big H is scheduled to remain in Afg for another few months. Conservatives in GB back the monarchy; I know I sure do (Charlies the Camiller aside). What a great kid.

Surely most posters are aware that if anything, the Muslims are patient. If a fatwa is put out on Harry, it could be 10-15 years before it is acted upon.

Reply 19 - Posted by: bighambone, 12/24/2012 9:04:14 PM     (No. 9082567)

There are already a lot of fatwas out there ordering Muslims to kill the entire British and US Armies. If those armies worrying about fatwas, they would not be able to perform their missions. Those armies know that they are in more danger from politicians in both the UK and the US then the Taliban could ever pile on them.

President Barack Obama offered on Saturday to provide any assistance the Algerian government needs after a deadly hostage siege at a desert gas plant and said the United States was seeking a "fuller understanding" from Algerian authorities of what took place there. "The thoughts and prayers of the American people are with the families of all those who were killed and injured in the terrorist attack in Algeria," Obama said in his first comments on the hostage crisis.

Boehner´s tactics
leave supporters puzzled

Conservative congressmen don´t question House Speaker John Boehner´s dedication to the cause. But as chaos overtakes GOP efforts to prevent a Jan. 1 tax hike, members do have doubts about his effectiveness. Here´s the latest turn of events: Over the summer, House Republicans passed a bill extending the Bush-era tax rates, which are set to expire, resulting in higher rates Jan. 1. That was Boehner´s Plan A. Senate Democrats said no, and so Boehner rolled out Plan B: extend current rates for all income below $1 million, and rein in Social Security spending.

GOP Strategy and the Fiscal Cliff

Both Speaker John Boehner and media analysts have been spun into a state of confusion by the fiscal cliff issue and President Obama´s reelection. The fiscal cliff exists because the president and the GOP Congress could not decide in 2011 on a permanent general policy toward the budget. And now the president has added another factor: he is determined to usurp the Congressional authority to raise the debt ceiling. If the budget goes over the cliff, two things will happen: tax rates on everyone will rise, and across the board spending cuts will be made.

Earlier this year, the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra (ASO) decided to disinvite two predominantly white high school choral groups from performance in the ASO´s holiday concert. The ASO´s decision was reportedly motivated by the high schools´ lack of diversity, which caused a stir among people who believe in racial justice as opposed to racial favoritism.

Caroline Wozniacki has been accused of doing a ´racist´ impersonation of fellow tennis player Serena Williams after stuffing her bra and shorts. At a recent exhibition against Maria Sharapova in Brazil, the former world No. 1 stuffed courtside towels down her kit to replicate the body of the curvaceous Grand Slam champion. But now the 22-year-old Dane, whose boyfriend golfer Rory McIlroy was in the crowd, has now been accused of racism by some observers.

Obama administration officials who were in key positions on Sept. 11, 2012, acknowledge that a range of mistakes were made the night of the attacks on the U.S. missions in Benghazi, and in messaging to Congress and the public in the aftermath. The officials spoke to CBS News in a series of interviews and communications under the condition of anonymity so that they could be more frank in their assessments. They do not all agree on the list of mistakes and it's important to note that they universally claim that any errors or missteps did not cost lives and reflect "incompetence rather than malice or cover up.

In the wake of one of the worst abuses of government power in recent history, many are rushing to frame the Internal Revenue Service scandal as simply an attack on conservative activists. That view risks creating a partisan political football and misses a fundamentally scarier abuse that exceeds the scandals of Watergate or any other prior government abuse. The IRS has admitted that since May 2010 it targeted grassroots-conservative organizations that had applied for tax-exempt status, unfairly subjecting them to rigorous scrutiny due to their political leanings. Such groups were told they were required to comply with IRS requests,

Treasury Secretary Jack Lew on Friday urged congressional leaders to raise the debt limit and insisted that the White House is not going to negotiate over the increase because lawmakers have "no choice." "We will not negotiate over the debt limit," Lew wrote. "The creditworthiness of the United States is non-negotiable. The question of whether the country must pay obligations it has already incurred is not open to debate." Lew said that while President Obama is willing to discuss plans to reduce the nation´s deficit with Congress, those talks must be kept separate from any effort to raise the nation´s debt cap.

The Internal Revenue Service´s watchdog told top Treasury officials around June 2012 he was investigating allegations the tax agency had targeted conservative groups, for the first time indicating that Obama administration officials were aware of the explosive matter in the midst of the president´s re-election campaign. The disclosure to the Treasury general counsel and the deputy secretary was a cursory one, according to J. Russell George, the Treasury inspector general for tax administration. He said he didn´t reveal conclusions of the probe, which was in its early stages, and his disclosure came as part

The lawmaker leading the charge to investigate the Benghazi terror attack on Friday subpoenaed the co-author of a report that slammed the State Department but didn´t interview Hillary Clinton. House Oversight Committee Chairman Darrell Issa (R-Calif.) formally demanded that retired ambassador Thomas Pickering submit to being deposed by the committee next Thursday. The subpoena comes in the wake of a series of acrimonious public exchanges this week between the two men. Issa didn´t issue a subpoena to former chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Michael Mullen, who co-authored the Benghazi report with Pickering.

A healthcare provider has sued the Internal Revenue Service and 15 of its agents, charging they wrongfully seized 60 million medical records from 10 million Americans. The name of the provider is not yet known, United Press International said. But Courthouse News Service said the suit claims the agency violated the Fourth Amendment in 2011, when agents executed a search warrant for financial data on one employee – and that led to the seizure of information on 10 million, including state judges. The search warrant did not specify that the IRS could take medical information, UPI said.
