| The late Sen. Daniel Inouye was remembered Sunday as an American hero whose legacy as a war veteran and longtime senator would be felt across Hawaii for years to come. The memorial service at Honolulu´s National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific was attended by more than 1,000 people, including an emotional President Barack Obama, who had previously called the late senator one of his first political inspirations. Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, Hawaii´s congressional delegation and a number of other senators, cabinet secretaries and other dignitaries were also on hand at Sunday´s service.

How great for all the senators and their staff, relatives and friends to have to attend a funeral in Hawaii. Check out their attendance at other fallen senators and I think you´ll find that they were just a bit closer to Sen. Inouye in death than in life. I realize this sounds cynical, but how can it be otherwise with this group? They spend on themselves and their constituents as if there is no tomorrow, and tomorrow is coming very soon. Their gig is up, and we´re all going to suffer the consequences; at least Sen. Inouye won´t have to endure it.

It reminds me of Bill Clinton´s behavior at Ron Brown´s funeral. Bill was a shuckin´ and a jivin´ as he walked out of the ceremony, until he saw the cameras, and immediately started to look sad and teary eyed. He was good at that sort of thing.
As an old white guy, who has no sense of fashion or style for women - what´s up with Michelle´s dress? Is that appropriate for a funeral???

Who cares about the death of some old fogey liberal Democrat senator? All that senator did was vote for more debt, more entitlements, more spending, and more fiscal nonsense. Part of our problem is that our people re-elect these moron senators until they die in office in senility. And then we wonder why we have the problems we do?

Emotion: The only emotion Obama feels is self love, no one else exist.
As for Inouye he got the send off he deserved, with his President doing self worship.
The Senator was a legitimate War hero for that I salute him. His political career is another matter.

Inouye was a legitimate WWII hero.
Unfortunately he squandered that legacy of putting body and soul in harms way to defend the US Constitution. With his lock step support of the Democrat Welfare State Agenda, his uber-liberal politics spit on the very heart of the Constitution.
His legacy is one of massive debt, government dependency, unconstitutional Federal power grabs and indebtedness.
Not a pretty end result for a man who sacrificed so much in War to defend the Constitution.

Re #6´s question about MO´s attire at Sen. Onouye´s funeral -- NO, MO´s dress/sweater is NOT appropriate for a First Lady to wear to a Senator´s funeral, in Hawaii or anywhere else. Nor is the rag tied around her head or her hair style appropriate for a Senator´s funeral. Never, in the history of America, prior to the Obama pResidency, has a first lady dressed in such a disrespectful, unladylike manner.

A major tea party group is planning protests at Internal Revenue Services nationwide Tuesday following revelations earlier this month that the tax agency had flagged organizations with the words "tea party" or "patriot" for additional scrutiny. The protests were originally scheduled only for Cincinnati, where the IRS has said employees responsible for the targeting were based. But Tea Party Patriots head Jenny Beth Martin tells Whispers she received requests to protest across the country. A call to action on the group´s web site tells supporters that "the IRS is out of control" and so

President Obama will meet with Chinese President Xi Jinping in California on June 7-8, the White House announced Monday. It will be Mr. Obama’s first meeting with Mr. Xi since he became president of China in March. They previously met in Washington in 2011 when Mr. Xi was vice president. The talks come amid heightened U.S. tensions over cyberattacks reportedly originating in China. But the Obama administration said it has been pleased with Beijing’s cooperation in trying to persuade North Korea to reduce its belligerent military actions this spring.

The Indiana attorney general’s office confirmed Monday it is investigating a security breach in which Social Security numbers and other personal information were posted online for roughly 44,000 low-income Americans who applied for a federal program that provides discount Internet and phone service. The program was nicknamed the “Obamaphone” during the 2012 election, though it actually started long before President Obama took office. Indiana reportedly has the highest number of applicants, roughly 17,400, who were signed up by TerraCom Inc. and the affiliated YourTel America Inc. Applicants from at least 26 states were exposed to the security breach,

WASHINGTON- Apple Inc. has used an elaborate web of offshore subsidiaries to avoid paying billions of dollars in U.S. taxes on $44 billion in foreign income over the past four years, a Senate investigation has found. Many of the tactics, such as cost-sharing arrangements, are common among large multinational corporations seeking to shift profits to countries with lower tax rates. The investigation did not find Apple violated any laws. But three of its subsidiaries in Ireland claim to have no responsibility to pay income taxes to any country, according to a 40-page, bipartisan report released Monday

Monday afternoon, ABC News released a chilling report that details what journalists have faced while trying to get some answers from the Cincinnati IRS office, which is where a majority of the Tea Party targeting took place. According to ABC, an "armed uniform police officer with the Federal Protective Service" "escorted" reporters through the public building. ABC says if the intent wasn´t to "scare off" employees who might talk, "it was the effect." ABC News is also hearing conflicting reports from Cincinnati IRS employees and the IRS Headquarters in Washington.

CINCINNATI- Few workers know the IRS Cincinnati office better than Bonnie Esrig, who worked there for 24 years. She retired from her job as a senior manager in January. Esrig said she did not recall any discussion of politics in the office. "Politics and religion were things people generally didn´t talk about at work," she said. Esrig did not work on political cases and was not connected to the applications at the center of the controversy. But she worked in the same office where fewer than 200 people were dealing with 73,000 applications for exemptions last year.

On her blog this afternoon, Fox News’ On the Record host Greta Van Susteren wrote that the Department of Justice should feel “lucky” they did not hack into her emails like they did with her colleague James Rosen several years ago. While that sounds like a veiled threat against the DOJ, Van Susteren was actually making a joke about how her personal email account mostly contains correspondence and information regarding her sick dog named Audrey: Had Justice hacked into my personal email account this weekend, they would have had to sort through all the emails from the vet

What did President Obama do on the evening of 9/11/12 when our men were under attack in Benghazi? The invaluable Andrew McCarthy reminds us that Obama and Secretary Clinton had a 10:00 p.m. phone call of which many (including, I think, Chris Wallace) have lost sight. This morning when Wallace asked Obama aide Dan Pfeiffer what Obama was up to that evening, Pfeiffer declared the line of inquiry “offensive.” Translation: Obama and his minions would prefer to “move on” and are warning the likes of FNC off:(Snip for video)The Weekly Standard’s Daniel Halper has posted the rush transcript

WASHINGTON – The Internal Revenue Serviced scandal today spread further within the White House and closer to President Obama. White House spokesman Jay Carney today disclosed that Obama’s chief of staff, Dennis McDonough, and other top White House officials had advance warning that the IRS was targeting conservative groups. But he insisted McDonough and the other White House officials purposely kept Obama out of the loop.McDonough “rightly chose not to take action” to inform Obama, Carney told reporters at the daily White House briefing.

The Washington Post on Monday reported that Obama’s Department of Justice was investigating journalists before they started wiretapping the Associated Press – for one, Fox News correspondent James Rosen in 2010. Their headline wasn´t "Obama Team Also Spied on Fox News." Fox wasn´t in the headline, on A-1 or on A-12, where the story continued. Newly obtained court documents “reveal how deeply investigators explored the private communications of a working journalist — and raise the question of how often journalists have been investigated as closely as Rosen was in 2010.” Reporter Ann Marimow began:

A senior adviser to President Obama mounted a combative defense of the administration on Sunday, saying the controversies enveloping the White House were the result of Republican lawmakers’ trying to “drag Washington into a swamp of partisan fishing expeditions, trumped-up hearings and false allegations.”The remarks came from Dan Pfeiffer, a member of the president’s inner circle, as he appeared on all five major Sunday morning talk shows in an effort to move the administration past what commentators have described as a “hell week” of controversy and missteps.

Stuart Varney said this morning on "Varney & Co." that one of his producers was given a questionnaire with some surprisingly intrusive questions on it when he switched doctors. One of the questions was whether he/she was concerned about unsecured weapons in the home. Another asked whether he/she was "in a relationship in which you have been physically hurt or are you afraid of your partner?" Judge Andrew Napolitano explained that the question about guns comes out of a post-Sandy Hook executive order by President Obama, but it will be required under Obamacare. Varney expressed amazement
