CNN´s Don Lemon: ´Should
white men be profiled?´

Throughout the day on Saturday, CNN teased an upcoming segment pertaining to the recent Newtown, Conn. tragedy where the premise was “Should white men be profiled?” The discussion, which aired on “CNN Newsroom” hosted by Don Lemon, was based on a Salon.com column by David Sirota published just days after the Newtown shooting. Sirota explained his reasoning and suggested there was a double standard. “I think we should ask the question, ‘Why is America, 30 percent white guys and 70 percent of the shootings in the last many decades have been at the hands of white guys?’” Sirota said.

Comments:
I´ll take "Things you couldn´t get away with if it were another ethnic group for $500, Alex."

It´s come to this

I read somewhere that if guns were taken from non-whites, America´s murder rate would be comparable to Norways. I think the solution is clear. Couldn´t hurt. It only one life is saved, etc.

Where did that 70% figure come from. How many of the 450+ murders in Chicago, or the many more shootings that didn´t end in a death, involve white men?

Great idea ... right after they finish profiling Hispanics (illegal aliens), Middle Eastern men (terrorists), and black guys who dress and act like thugs or who travel in packs. /s

Don baby, it´s not white men killing black youths in Chicago.

Or don´t those deaths matter to you?

And should we profile RG3 - because he has a white girlfriend?

The ´ethnic´ murder rate is 8x that of whites. Draw your own conclusions.

Agree with #6. Black and Hispanic murder rates are far higher than whites. And non Hispanic White was 64% in 2010, not 30%.

Progressives like to make up their facts so any conclusions drawn from them are also fantasy.

Agree with all above, but if I were to see a young white man dressed all in black with a large bag or backpack, loitering outside a school/theater/ what have you, I´d be scared.

Interesting info - documentation at site.

Only a few systematic accounts of the race and ethnicity of serial killers exist. There is an exhaustive study of African American serial killers (Homicide Studies 2005; 9; 271) by criminologist Anthony Walsh, and also Eric W. Hickey’s book, Serial killers and their victims, Brooks/Cole, 1997. Walsh identified 90 African American and 323 white American serial murderers, all men operating between 1945 and 2004. (Though Asians, Hispanics and Native Americans were not included in the study, their addition would not alter the fact that most serial killers are white men.) African American serial killers made up 22% of Walsh’s sample, a figure in close agreement Hickey’s enumeration. But, as blacks number well below 22% of the U.S. population, they are actually overrepresented among the ranks of serial killers — roughly by a factor of 2.

"So it turns out that while whites make up a numerical superiority of serial killers, blacks make up a much higher percentage of serial killers relative to their percentage of the population".

I would hope they already are being profiled - just like other ethnic groups should be in certain conditions.

The whole shooting just reeks of ´special snowflakeness´ which is really a white thing, probably an asian one too but there haven´t been enough crazed asian shooters as of yet to differentiate.

You have a special snowflake in danger of losing his status, Adam Lanza, in a sea of special snowflakes that is CT, who shot his mom and too revenge on a whole roomful of special snowflakes who still had potential.

And yeah, that´s a white thing.

Black males between the ages of 18 and 39 are two and a half percent of the US population and commit 55% of all violent felonies. Anyone from the MSM willing to talk about that?

Lemon and his biases both personal and psychological, tend to overshadow any honesty he may have. His mental problems are serious and his employer should take appropriate steps.

Black criminals murder a lot more black people every year and get away with doing that, then dangerous white crazy people who perpetrate the few mass shooting ever murder during their shooting sprees each year that usually culminate with the perpetrator´s suicide.

CNN is just attempting to play the race card and drum up more controversy, in order to pursue assisting the Obama Administration and the liberal Democrats in their quest for overriding gun control.

Long before the Internal Revenue Service revealed it had improperly targeted conservative 501(c)(4) groups, a group of Democratic senators led by New York Sen. Chuck Schumer urged the IRS to do just that. The IRS’s admission last Friday that it had singled out tea party and other groups for extra audits and delays has raised concerns that President Barack Obama’s administration quietly attempted to stymy opponents through intimidation. But many prominent Democrats — including Montana Sen. Max Baucus, Americans United for the Separation of Church and State and the New York Times editorial board — had been

On Hugh Hewitt’s Thursday night program, National Review columnist Mark Steyn explained why the Obama administration’s response to last September’s terrorist attack on the U.S. consulate in Benghazi was so appalling.“They let him die, and then told lies over his coffin,” he told fill-in host Guy Benson. Steyn said that the late U.S. ambassador to Libya Chris Stevens was a true believer of President Barack Obama and then-Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s view of the Arab Spring, that it was a positive movement and was trying to make the best of it. On Aaron Klein’s weekend show on New York City’s WABC radio, Oklahoma Republican Sen. James Inhofe accused the Obama administration of buying up ammunition at an unprecedented level to bypass the Second Amendment so gun-owners “can’t even buy ammunition because government is purchasing so much.” “Let’s make sure that your audience out there is aware, Aaron, that our president, Obama, has been doing everything he could to stop the private ownership of guns in America,” Inhofe said. “You know that, everyone knows that. And yet he’s been voted down in a big way by a large majority.

On Thursday night’s edition of "The O’Reilly Factor" on the Fox News Channel, host Bill Bill O’Reilly and former Clinton campaign adviser James Carville debated whether liberals have been pushed further to left by activists and various media factions. O’Reilly pointed to Wednesday’s May Day protest in Seattle as one piece of evidence. He also pinned the blame on MSNBC, arguing that his employer’s cable news rival is “putting forth” a far left ideology. Carville disagreed and said the hosts on MSNBC network, including Rachel Maddow, Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski do not hold views of the far left.

During a Senate hearing on immigration reform Tuesday, Republican Sen. Sessions challenged Napolitano on whether she had met with leader of the ICE employees’ union in the wake of reports of low morale among ICE agents. Napolitano replied that she had not. “I think you should have met with them,” Sessions said. “I think there’s a real problem there. We have a very real problem. The wheels came off the Obama administration yesterday. We learned of a startling assault on freedom of the press by the Department of Justice, following the revelation last week of the unprecedented information-gathering foray by that department against The Associated Press. Then, a few minutes later, the Justice Department’s inspector general released a report declaring that the US attorney in Arizona used the leak of a confidential memo to try to discredit a whistleblower in the notorious “gun-walking” scandal known as Fast and Furious (which got two federal agents killed). The leak was called “egregious.”
