Even if you had a house full of guns and ammunition, would you then murder a close relative, shoot your way into a nearby primary school and massacre as many children as you could? Of course you wouldn’t. You would have to be mad to do such a thing, and mad in a rather special way. And if you were mad in that way, and had no gun, you might use other weapons. There are recent instances in various parts of the world of what appear to be attempted mass murder by car, or by knife.

Just one problem with this argument. Most people, when psychotic, idealize a specific weapon. A non-psychotic angry person will consider options if his first choice of weapon isn´t available. A psychotic person won´t always make that leap in logic.
Most families of people who have psychotic breaks know the ideations of their loved one. If they have every spoken of guns in that fashion, then they absolutely need to be kept away from guns.

The worse mass murder of school children happened in 1927, in Michigan I believe.
An angry, bitter, and deranged man, upset about his school taxes, blew up an elementary school with 500 pounds of dynamite. Over 33 children were killed, plus teachers and administrators. More would have been killed if an additional 500 pounds of dynamite, planted in another area of the school, had gone off as planned.
So, in the case of the worse murder of school children, no firearms were involved.

#2, here is the killing you are talking about, which took place in Bath Twp, Michigan, killing 38 children, 2 teachers, 4 other adults, and injured 58 more people. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bath_School_disaster
The former site of the school is a park, and a memorial plaque is placed there.

Simple question: which town is the safest?
The town filled with experienced gun owners, or the town that prohibits private gun owner ship? Take a guess. Communist countries allow no private ownership. That´s the first step to their dictatorial, authoritarian power, the first big step.
We´re close enough to a dictatorship with dozens of Czars, to be concerned about this invaluable personal right.

Where, may I ask AGAIN, are the stats that show gun violence and gun related crimes dropped when the ban on "assault(?) weapons" was passed? Where are the stats that crime goes up when CCW laws are passed?
The only answers I ever get is, "That´s a pack of lies," or "Where´d you get that!"

David Cameron is planning new powers to muzzle Islamic hate preachers accused of provoking terrorist outrages such as the killing of soldier Lee Rigby. The Prime Minister wants to stop extremist clerics using schools, colleges, prisons and mosques to spread their ‘poison’ and is to head a new Tackling Extremism and Radicalisation Task Force (TERFOR) made up of senior Ministers, MI5, police and moderate religious leaders. The high-powered group will study a number of measures, including banning extremist clerics from being given public platforms to incite students, prisoners and other followers – and forcing mosque leaders to answer for ‘hate preachers’.

The Sunday Telegraph can disclose that Michael Adebolajo was held by police close to the Somali border with a band of "radicalised" Muslim youths who wanted to join the notorious al-Shabaab group. A uniformed French soldier on anti-terrorist duties in Paris had his throat cut by a knife-wielding man tonight. Barack Obama announced an end to America’s war on terror last week. In future, he declared, he would restrict the unmanned drone attacks that had been his own signature anti-terrorist initiative, and he would really, really make an effort to shut down the prison camp at Guantánamo Bay--as he had promised to do way back when he was running for president the first time. Presumably, this pronouncement was designed to win back the favour of the liberal media, which has been energetically disowning him ever since his administration staggered into the most spectacular series of Washington scandals since Watergate.

There has been a sixth night of rioting in Sweden´s capital, Stockholm, despite police reinforcements being deployed. Cars were set alight in poor suburbs inhabited largely by immigrants, although the unrest was reportedly not as serious as on previous nights. The rioting also spread outside the capital for the first time on Friday, with youths torching vehicles and buildings in two towns. The leader of the Lebanese Shia militant Hezbollah movement, Hassan Nasrallah, has promised his supporters victory in Syria, where his fighters are backing President Bashar al-Assad. Mr Nasrallah said Hezbollah would stay in the conflict till the end. Syrian rebels in the besieged town of Qusair say they are under heavy bombardment from Hezbollah combatants. The town is close to the Lebanese border, a conduit for both the government and rebels to get weapons. [Snip] He said his movement could never be aligned with Syrian rebels who, in his view, were supported by the United States and Israel.

The Boy Scouts of America (BSA) have reversed their longstanding membership guidelines to allow homosexuals to join the organization. Abuse Of Power: Any scandal investigation that expects a "Eureka!" moment, a White House e-mail, or Oval Office smoking gun will be misguided. In fact, the dots are already connected directly to the president. Barack Obama is not foolish enough to have a tape recording system hidden in his desk. And his administration staff are not careless enough to send one another incriminating e-mails. If the president was behind the IRS unlawfully harassing conservative groups seeking tax-exempt status, we can be sure the communications were all sotto voce and in persona, like any good Chicago political operator.
