Boehner failed as a negotiator. He got "bracketed"(experienced negotiators will know the term). Cutting spending never made it to the table. The entire discussion was about raising taxes. Played right into Obama´s hand.

Boehner has to go. He has no leadership skills.

Should have just offered 1 bill with 1 item - raising the top two tax rate levels.

Nothing else.

And expose the Democrat lie that it would solve our deficit problems.

Then, work on the other parts piece by piece.

Demanding the Democrats to explain how they expect to close the yearly deficit.

You see, the low-information voter and the MSM don´t correlate the yearly deficit to the national debt.

And Republicans need to stop trying to "do the right thing" by fixing all the problems which will only end up being blamed on them for cutting this and cutting that.

And point out how X program is expected to get Y amount increase, but the democrats are wanting more.
(we are increasing the program by 4% but the democrats are demanding 6%)

Lastly, state how gov´t programs need to become more effecient, more effective and more productive which will help reduce the rate of growth and impact.(that will get a lot of people excited).

Boehner should be replaced. Either let the Democrats raise taxes and let them them own it, or fight hard and no compromise. This in between pandering is letting the liberals beat the stuffing out of us in the media, protecting the rich and all that garbage.

I´m sorry but Boehner is a certified "bone head!" He is past his "best if used by date." Replace him in January and hopefully he will do the honorable thing and resign from the House....

Sanity requires Boehnor to bow out and put someone else not made of Jello in the role of speaker - Allen West for example.

Only a liberal would think he should be judged on intentions instead of results.

We are about to see what a "good man" Boehner is if he is challenged for the Speaker´s gavel. He has been outfoxed by Obama at every turn. Results are what matter not good intentions. It does no good to deny the truth. If he has any honor, any honor at all, he will not fight it and give this important job to a LEADER. The country is in way too much trouble to be playing around worrying about hurt feelings.

A friend has a good and simple measure for determining meaningful control of the federal budget and real cuts..the value of real estate in DC area will fall at least 25%. Until you see that, the looting is continuing and the laws and regs used for personal gain and destroying the competition.

No government spending can happen without approval of the House of Representatives. It is high time the house started exercising its authority to cut spending to somewhere below revenue levels.

John has to ways to go...walk away, or play Obama´s fool. His choice.

Whether it´s plan B from Boehner or Plan 9 from Outer Space, I say Dump Boehner Now.

I really believe that in spite of what Obama says, he wants taxes to go up for everyone and he wants to gut the military. He seems to be getting his wish.

Whatever, L-dotters. If taxes are to go up, they should go up on EVERYONE.
Besides, as someone to the right of Limbaugh I am here to say that the sequesters DO NOT gut the military.
Over the cliff we go! Increases in taxes and spending cuts will be the result which is EXACTLY what everyone has been saying we need.
