I grow tired of screaming at my TV every time I see Mr. Speaker complaining about how the pResident won´t work with him. Cut the funding for the EPA and Education. Defund EVERYTHING that has "Corps" in it´s name but doesn´t begin with United States Marines do not fund Obamacare. There, that´s a start...

Speaker Boehner has made his own frustration by caving every chance he gets. He needs to go. We need somebody with guts to stand up to the dems.

Talking with Obama about something economically sensible is like debating the Devil about schoolgirl skirt lengths. Obama was never intelligent or serious enough to do anything. I think he´s idiot enough to think that the tax rates don´t matter to the economy (and will get his comeuppance when the economy tanks), he´s lazy enough not to make his party agree to anything and so ill-prepared for his position that he couldn´t negotiate getting an apple out of a wet paper bag. Boehner should have been THAT pessimistic when the whole thing started, used HIS position to pass a serious budget and tax rate proposals and sent them to the Senate to die...

The thesis in the article is - we understand your frustration but just one last strategic retreat then we will start winning... It all reminds me of another perpetual issue that goes back to the time of Reagan. Reagan accepted amnesty on the border in return for border security. This has been repeated multiple times and now people are saying enough, first we have border security and then one last amnesty. They are all called extremist, inflexible, etc. etc... The same with spending and taxes. Spending is the problem and Obama gets the republicans to talk about taxes. Enough already! Get serious! Obama must be forced to make real concessions on spending cuts for right away NOW before any discussion of tax increases. Without that you may as well wipe out all taxes because the printing of money is a perfectly fair tax on all wealth and income because it will destroy the currency making it worthless!!

You don´t get you best deal standing around loooking for it. John Boehner should take a cue from the Chief Executive of the United States...walk away. If you truly believe you´ve done your part, John, then you have no reason to stick around. Let ol´ Harry Reid start doing some heavy lifting, starting with the "DOA" bi-partisan budget you put in his in-basket months ago.

I don´t blame anyone, I blame them all. Maybe we´ll get a new speaker for a belated Christmas present.

Have you seen the President´s poll numbers? Something like 54% approval. The Republican House of Representatives has no backing in the country. The President knows he has a chance to make the Republicans so unpopular that they will lose the House in the next election. If you were Boehner, would you try to side step his trap or step into it? Boehner is twisting and turning every way he can think of to salvage what he can. Larry Kudlow is a strong conservative and a very smart man.

His defense of Boehner is pathetic. John Kyl says he is annoyed with both republicans and democrats that won´t go along with Plan B. We need a NEW SPEAKER.....He needs to be using the Speakers´ bully pulpit of HIS/HER office like that louse Nancy Pelosi always did. Can´t stand any of these jerks.

#7 said it well. The threats and empty promises from the GOP are no longer going to motivate millions of conservatives. We are constantly told to "wait" and when we do? We are told to "take what we can get." Pelosi is what she is but when she had the Speaker´s gavel, she knew how to use it. Dems have no problem when they are in the minority - they fight like a banshee every day to move THEIR agenda. Now, right on time, the DC GOP consultant class out there trying to put a smiley face on this disaster of a Speaker. Truth matters. Boehner is not fit to be the Speaker. His own caucus knows it.

This is tripe, Kudlow. This is not about any politician, it is about this country. You can spend your money, or politicians can, and right now they are spending all they can tax, borrow, and print. When Russia and Israel´s economy failed, they passes a law against printing money to finance deficits. We need one to. We also need an economist, apparently not Kudlow, that will tell the truth and stand up for what needs to be done.

Boehner´s been in a no-win situation from the get-go. As long as Obama was fully prepared, even eager, to go over the cliff these talks were destined to go nowhere. And grandstanding over taxes would have gained our side (and American taxpayers) nothing.

For years now conservatives have allowed the left to control the narrative and take advantage of the public´s dismal ignorance of economics. It´s just not realistic to expect JB or any other Speaker to stand on a soapbox and try and make up for that in a couple of weeks, especially against a newly re-elected president and demagogue-in-chief.

And is any sitting congresscritter prepared to credibly challenge Boehner for the Speakership? No? Well then, everyone needs to take a deep breath.
