| A day after efforts to avert the fiscal cliff collapsed, President Obama said Friday that he again asked Republican and Democratic leaders in Congress to work out a deal on middle-class tax cuts and unemployment benefits that would prevent taxes for most Americans going up on Jan. 1. “That’s an achievable goal that can get done in 10 days,” Mr. Obama said at the White House. “Everybody’s got to give a little bit in a sensible way. We move forward together, or we don’t move forward at all.” The president spoke Friday

Well, as long as the Autopen is still in DC, whatever deal Boehner negotiates with himself [and I hate to even think how much he´ll add to taxes on the next pass...] it can be signed.
#1: I don´t want this [pre-deleted] usurper doing anything. Everything he does -- everything -- hurts us. Often by intent, sometimes by luck. And as everything he does is invalid and will one day have to be declared moot, the less he does the better. Yes, I know that´s a lot to hope for, but it should be done.

One of the first casualties of the fiscal cliff is that 2.1 million Americans will lose their vacations in the form of unemployment benefits. I say cut these leeches off! They voted for Obama and his freebies. Let them learn the hard way that in the end, Obama will live like a King in Hawaii while their feeble Obama scraps will come to an end in the dead of winter. I´ve said it before. The middleclass fools who are screaming for the rich to pay more have no clue what is going to hit them come Jan. 1. The screaming will be heard from coast to coast. The plan has always been to get the rich first, then get the middleclass where all the money is. Rush is a genius when it comes to defining things. The latest reporting in the matter of Fox News Channel’s James Rosen indicates the Obama administration fought to keep the search warrant for Rosen’s private email account secret, arguing that the government might need to monitor the account for a lengthy period of time. WASHINGTON — Haynes Johnson, a pioneering Washington journalist who won a Pulitzer Prize for his coverage of the civil rights movement and migrated from newspapers to television, books and teaching, died Friday. The FBI has arrested a San Antonio man on charges he lied to get into the United States and tried to get a sensitive Defense Department position. A FREE press in a democracy demands a delicate balance. The First Amendment means the media must have the right to inquire without hindrance. The government has a legitimate interest in keeping some national security information secret. When these come into conflict, the balance often has been struck this way: The media are free to pursue secrets, but it is up to those in government to keep them. When the media come into possession of information that, if disclosed, could be damaging, the government can plead the case for secrecy — and the media generally are open to persuasion.

The brutal murder of an off-duty soldier by two Muslim activists continues to dominate the news in Great Britain. The scene was utterly bizarre: in broad daylight, in a busy section of London, the two Muslims apparently ran the soldier down with a car, within a block or two of his barracks, and then attacked him with knives and a meat cleaver. A day after insurers complained that Kathleen Sebelius and the Obama administration had pressured them to fund Enroll America, a House committee sent them a request for more information on the matter. Conservative radio host Mark Levin is very skeptical of the idea that President Obama had absolutely no idea about the IRS tea party targeting before the story broke in the news mere weeks ago. Levin declared adamantly that it is a “flat-out, bald-faced lie” that Obama didn’t know beforehand, citing prior reports by a few conservative news outlets picking up on the news well before the 2012 presidential election.
