So? During the 20th century, more Christians were killed for being Christians than during the whole 2000 year history of the religion put together. So what´s the big deal about today. It´s just more of the same.

This is why the claim, made popular by Ron Paul among others, that terrorism was just the chickens coming home to roost against Americans. It doesn´t explain the terrorism against non-Muslims in almost every country from Nigeria to the Philippines.

#3´s point is absolutely correct. In Nigeria, the North is mostly warlike Muslims. The South is mostly peaceful Christians. Unfortunately for the Christians, most of the oil wealth is in the South. The Muslims are constantly scheming to take the oil away from the Christians. And through brute force, they succeed. There has been perpetual war since the Brits gave up and left the country.

Big box discount churches will have little to say on the subject of Christians being murdered in Nigeria. Perhaps they will decry the martyrdoms in a general sense, but will lift no finger to move our government to do a thing. To thine own self be true seems to be the motto of the American Church these days.

RUSH: According to latest CNN poll, Obama´s job approval is down from 53% in May to 45% now. Approval of his handling of the economy is down 2% to 42%. On foreign affairs Obama´s down five points to 44. On illegal immigration, Obama´s disapproval is up to 56. And only 49% of respondents say Obama is honest or trustworthy. You know, this polling data, this is huge, folks. We haven´t seen this before. We have not seen this kind of intense evidence of Obama losing approval, losing popularity, and losing support.

Charlie Rose last night asked President Obama his new Syria policy. The president first objected to it being called a new policy. "I´m not sure you can characterize this as a new policy. This is consistent with the policy that I´ve had throughout," he said. Obama then explained the goal is regional stability, and especially in Syria. "Really, what we´re trying to do is take sides against extremists of all sorts and in favor of people who are in favor of moderation, tolerance, representative government, and over the long-term, stability and prosperity for the people of Syria," said Obama.
