| Hillary Rodham Clinton has won consistent praise during her four years as secretary of State, but it looks as if she’ll be leaving her post with one big failure on her record. If she seeks the presidency in 2016, you can bet we will all be hearing the word “Benghazi” in every attack ad Republicans run against her. (Snip) Four of those officials resigned Tuesday. The independent panel stated that blame rose only to the assistant secretary level, but Clinton will still be sporting a political black eye when she steps down from her job as planned at the beginning of President Obama’s second term.
|
Comments: The Los Angeles Times is already on its knees, even before 0bama´s inauguration, to prop up the "falling" SOS. Still, too late to stop Herself´s faux concussion.

Congress protects diplomats? Who knew? I always thought this was the responsibility of the Executive Branch.

If we are going to have diplomats in dangerous places, Congress needs to appropriate enough money to protect them.

Yeah, she got "consistent praise" but only from you kneepad-wearing excuses for journalists.
Now you are going to call her a quitter, right? Like you skewered Sarah Palin for resigning when you apes hounded her out of her job? No, of course not, you will praise her as the best secstate ever. You certainly are a sickening bunch.

Just curious. Wouldn´t the Secrectary of State go before Congress to request additional funding if she believes it is needed? Wouldn´t that be one of her jobs?

When Hillary concocted her phony "concussion" hoax story, she was thumbing her nose at the American people who want accountability. By avoiding appearing at the hearings, Hillary is telling us she has NO accountability. In her twisted mind, the words "responsibilty" and "accountability" mean two different things. That´s why she told the world she takes "full responsibility" for what heppened in Libya. Kind of like it all depends on what the meaning of "is" is. We have a criminal liar put in charge of SOS. Remember it was the criminal Obama who appointed Hillary to her position in the first place and apparently backs everything she does and says. He cannot pretend he has no responsibility in all of this.

There is plenty of money being appropriated for very useful things like saving the snail darter or 9 million dollar studies that tell us that people are unhappiest when a tragedy befalls them. (Don´t take my word for that, look in todays news). There is also the little matter of a $5.4 million dollar Christmas vacation for the first family because they would rather be in Hawaii than Washington. Do you think that maybe there was enough money spent on these items to give adequate security to the compound in Benghazi? Any by the way Horsey, isn´t it the Secretary of State´s responsibility to make sure there is enough money in her budget to provide security? I mean, after all, with all the money that the governement is urinating away, all they would have to do is call Bernanke and tell him to print up a couple of million more.

Unbelievable. Hillary Clinton being praised for her work? Has anyone looked at the growth of radical Islam in the Middle East since her reign? Is it a good thing that she is responsible for the rights of women in those countries being trampled and Christians being slaughtered? To top it off, she ran from confrontaion the news shows after September 11 and sent Susan Rice, who has no management control over embassies, to take the heat. Again with her supposed concussion she is shirking her responsibility to answer to Congress. The saddest thing is that idiots like you will vote for her to be president.

FTA: "My guess is that one big reason officials at the State Department failed to respond to the pleas for more protection coming from the diplomats in Libya is that those officials could not figure out how to pay for it."
State Dept. officials have already testified under oath that lack of funding was not an issue. So, as long as we´re guessing, I´m guessing this writer is a liberal idiot. But I repeat myself.

The state dept has tons of money for security. It´s costing tens of millions at least in Iraq.Plus from what I remember the requests for more security went right to Hill´s office.Pleading ignorance is no excuse. A captian in responsible for everybody on the ship. Then for good measure they excused the lack of military reprisal because of not enough time. But leave it up to idiots like at the LATimes to defend the indefensible.
Obama hasn´t taken the direct blame for anything that´s gone wrong under him either. These people are simple cowards.
What about this Hillary doing a great job? At what? the middle east is going backwards. Russia won´t allow any more us adoptions. Chinas mad about some of Obama´s embargos and special taxes like on tires.
It finally took a tourism threat of 2 republicans to get the marine in mexico freed.
The only trade agreements Obama has done are the ones Bush had already set up. Then that only passed because of a $3 billion slush fund they set up for union workers who lose their jobs overseas. Did anybody here get a deal like that?

State department manages money like the White House.
President Obama spent more than $1.45 million on his first two official state dinners, according to White House financial documents obtained by The Washington Examiner.
The White House Executive Residence sent two invoices to the State Department´s Office of Protocol, seeking reimbursement for the White House dinners honoring visiting Indian and Mexican heads of state.
Both invoices can be viewed following this news story.
The October 2009 Indian dinner cost $487,168.86 or $1,485 per person, according to the invoices. The May 2010 Mexican dinner price tag was $969,793.92 and was attended by 200 people at a cost of $4,770 each.

Seoul - North Korea fired three short-range missiles from its east coast on Saturday, South Korea´s Defence Ministry said, prompting Western powers to urge Pyongyang to exercise restraint. Launches by the North of short-range missiles are not uncommon but, after recent warnings from the communist state of impending nuclear war, such actions raise concerns about the region´s security. "North Korea fired short-range guided missiles twice in the morning and once in the afternoon off its east coast," an official at the South Korean Defence Ministry spokesman's office said by telephone.

An investigation of the Justice Department’s witness protection program uncovered glaring security problems that allowed terrorists who had been given new identities after cooperating with U.S. prosecutors to board commercial flights in the United States. In some cases, suspects whose names were on federal watchlists meant to keep them off commercial aircraft were nevertheless able to board flights because the Justice Department had failed to add their new, government-issued identities to counterterrorism databases. Overall, the Department of Justice Inspector General concluded that there

A senior Israeli official signaled on Wednesday that Israel was considering further military strikes on Syria to stop the transfer of advanced weapons to Islamist Hizbullah – and warned President Bashar Assad against any kind of retaliation against the Jewish state. The New York Times quoted the Israeli official who said, “Israel is determined to continue to prevent the transfer of advanced weapons to Hizbullah. The transfer of such weapons to Hizbullah will destabilize and endanger the entire region.” “If Syrian President Assad reacts by attacking Israel, or tries to strike Israel through his terrorist

Knock me over with a whisper. The mainstream press and politicians are outraged to discover that the Obama administration has been misusing the Internal Revenue Services (IRS) for political gain by deliberately targeting and harassing Conservative and Tea Party groups who applied for tax-exempt status. These same people are also shocked that a government agency would illegally leak out confidential information to the media. Where have you been all these years? Obama administration officials who were in key positions on Sept. 11, 2012, acknowledge that a range of mistakes were made the night of the attacks on the U.S. missions in Benghazi, and in messaging to Congress and the public in the aftermath. The officials spoke to CBS News in a series of interviews and communications under the condition of anonymity so that they could be more frank in their assessments. They do not all agree on the list of mistakes and it's important to note that they universally claim that any errors or missteps did not cost lives and reflect "incompetence rather than malice or cover up.

Watching President Obama trying to dodge raindrops and responsibility yesterday reminded me of the moment when Dorothy pulls back the curtain and discovers that the Wizard of Oz is “just a man.” Stripped of his spell of mystery and power, the wizard is worse than mortal. He’s a fake. So it was with Obama in the Rose Garden. His performance was tired and trite, ordinary to the point of dull. His veneer of passion was so transparent that you could see him trying to summon his old-time magic by pushing the buttons

STANDING BEFORE reporters Thursday, President Obama declined an invitation to compare the recent scandals weighing down his administration with those that forced President Nixon to resign in 1974. So allow us to do the work for him: There is no comparison. Nixon, in a series of crimes that collectively came to be known as Watergate, directed from the White House and Justice Department a concerted campaign against those he perceived as political enemies, in the process subverting the FBI, the IRS, other government agencies and the electoral process to his nefarious purposes. Mr. Obama has done nothing of the kind.

Ms. Abedin did not disclose the arrangement — or how much income she earned — on her financial report. It requires officials to make public any significant sources of income. In the wake of one of the worst abuses of government power in recent history, many are rushing to frame the Internal Revenue Service scandal as simply an attack on conservative activists. That view risks creating a partisan political football and misses a fundamentally scarier abuse that exceeds the scandals of Watergate or any other prior government abuse. The IRS has admitted that since May 2010 it targeted grassroots-conservative organizations that had applied for tax-exempt status, unfairly subjecting them to rigorous scrutiny due to their political leanings. Such groups were told they were required to comply with IRS requests,

President Obama’s press conference in the rain was not a success, if by success, his supporters would mean an event which convinces anyone who doesn’t work for him that he’s getting ahead of the scandal deluge. The sight of a Marine holding an umbrella over his head only added to the weirdness of the event. So what did we learn? 1. He has full confidence in Attorney General Eric Holder, the man who purportedly recused himself (whenever) without putting it in writing (whatever). When asked about the untrammeled snooping on Associated Press reporters and editors,
