Congress protects diplomats? Who knew? I always thought this was the responsibility of the Executive Branch.

If we are going to have diplomats in dangerous places, Congress needs to appropriate enough money to protect them.

When Hillary concocted her phony "concussion" hoax story, she was thumbing her nose at the American people who want accountability. By avoiding appearing at the hearings, Hillary is telling us she has NO accountability. In her twisted mind, the words "responsibilty" and "accountability" mean two different things. That´s why she told the world she takes "full responsibility" for what heppened in Libya. Kind of like it all depends on what the meaning of "is" is.

There is plenty of money being appropriated for very useful things like saving the snail darter or 9 million dollar studies that tell us that people are unhappiest when a tragedy befalls them. (Don´t take my word for that, look in todays news). There is also the little matter of a $5.4 million dollar Christmas vacation for the first family because they would rather be in Hawaii than Washington. Do you think that maybe there was enough money spent on these items to give adequate security to the compound in Benghazi? Any by the way Horsey, isn´t it the Secretary of State´s responsibility to make sure there is enough money in her budget to provide security? I mean, after all, with all the money that the governement is urinating away, all they would have to do is call Bernanke and tell him to print up a couple of million more.

Here´s a though. Just have the embassies and surrounding areas declared "gun-free zones". Should handle the problem.

The state dept has tons of money for security. It´s costing tens of millions at least in Iraq.Plus from what I remember the requests for more security went right to Hill´s office.Pleading ignorance is no excuse. Excuse 2nd post, but as others said, interviews by Foreign Relations committee members last few days ALL declared there was plenty of money for that security. Hillary did not do her job.

President Obama spent more than $1.45 million on his first two official state dinners, according to White House financial documents obtained by The Washington Examiner.

The White House Executive Residence sent two invoices to the State Department´s Office of Protocol, seeking reimbursement for the White House dinners honoring visiting Indian and Mexican heads of state.

The October 2009 Indian dinner cost $487,168.86 or $1,485 per person, according to the invoices. The May 2010 Mexican dinner price tag was $969,793.92 and was attended by 200 people at a cost of $4,770 each.
