| U.S. Ambassador to Finland Bruce Oreck is offering Helskini “a different take on the elder statesman” for the holidays. Oreck posted a special edition of the embassy’s 2012 holiday card, featuring his bulging bicep, to his official Facebook account Tuesday and reportedly also mailed copies of it to friends. The image comes from a photo shoot Oreck did last month for the Finnish fitness magazine “ProBody.” A similar shot donned the cover of the Dec. 4 issue, which included an interview with the ambassador. “I say 60 is the new 40.

He really is a dork. So is she. Any wife worth her salt would say "don´t DO that!!!" instead of doing a Vogue pose for the same card. They look absurd. But that is Obama´s State Department.

This is a big pet peeve of mine.
It´s Christmas, a time to honor the birth of Jesus, our Savior.
So why do people send me Christmas cards with pictures of their families swimming with dolphins, or all dressed up in togas or a montage of all the places they´ve visited the past year? And these are all coming from families at my son´s Catholic school. When did the tide shift from religious Christmas cards to cards with pictures of people´s dogs and cats dressed up like Obama and Romney? It´s weird. And by the looks of the Ambassador´s card this trend has a ways to go before it reaches the bottom of the barrel.

While it is not appropriate for a Christmas card, I do admire the ambassador´s commitment to fitness. If more older Americans would exercise, we´d have lower Medicare costs, saving a huge amount of tax money (although I´m sure congress would spend it elsewhere).

On “Fox News Sunday” last weekend, White House aide Dan Pfeiffer was asked about President Barack Obama’s whereabouts the night of the Sept. 11 attack in Benghazi.
