| Ion Perdicaris, a Greek-American, was kidnapped in 1904 in Tangier by Mulai Ahmed er Raisuli and held for $70,000 ransom. Outraged, President Theodore Roosevelt sent warships and Marines to Morocco, along with a message: “This government wants Perdicaris alive or Raisuli dead.” Perdicaris was freed. Today, not one, but hundreds of Americans rot in Mexican jails. The State Department stopped reporting numbers years ago, but in 1998 CNN reported 400 U.S. citizens were imprisoned in Mexico, more than in any other nation.

When you think about it, obama´s foreign policies have been basically, bloody failures. The only reason he has any power/effect in the USA is due to the gutless wonders in the congress, the criminal gang in his administration, the anti-Constitution judges and a supine public.

It´s WAY past time to say ´enough´ and send in the Army, Navy, Air Force and Marines and depose the current leadership, kill off the drug cartels, and annex this third-world cr*p-hole to the US.
At one time we can end the ´drug trade´, get our people back, and give the people of Mexico a decent living.

And thanks to the fiasco of Fast and Furious, there is at least one marine who will languish there as retribution for the deaths of all those Mexican citizens Obama and Holder don´t care about.
It was surprising that the Mexican government finally admitted that fact, in diplospeak, this week. Obama will continue to ignore the Mexican disaster at his and this country´s peril.

Like "Read my lips..." Roosevelt´s words were empty. Nothing militarily happened to free Perdicaris, who renounced his American passport 40 years earlier. The ransom was paid, and everyone walked away quietly. The other odd fact is that Perdicaris was not held by the government, but a "terrorist" group, with which he became sympathetic.

The situation with the corrupt Mexican criminal justice system could be straightened out pretty quickly if President Obama would make a friendly telephone call to the new Mexican Presidente, and tell him that until that situation is straightened out and American families are no longer victims of criminal extortion when one of their members is arrested in Mexico, that he was going to issue an Executive Order that Mexican citizens will no longer be eligible to obtain any sort of US visa or border crossing cards until all that stops.
You can safely bet that US Presidential action would get the Mexicans´ attention like nothing else.

The bad news: Since he was jailed on a firearms-related charge in Mexico, the ATF has almost certainly added his name to the "prohibited persons" list, essentially stripping of his rights guaranteed by the Second Amendment.

Former Cambridge neighbors of a Russian mixed martial arts brawler shot dead by an FBI agent early yesterday in Florida — after ?being questioned about his ties to the marathon bombing and a Waltham triple murder — said he was nasty. The 2012 election season was filled with angry cries of “voter suppression,” almost all of them regarding attempts by states to require voter ID and otherwise improve ballot integrity. Bill Clinton warned that “there has never been — in my lifetime, since we got rid of the poll tax and all the other Jim Crow burdens on voting — the determined effort to limit the franchise that we see today.” Democratic-party chairwoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz said “photo-ID laws, we think, are very similar to a poll tax.” All of this proved to be twaddle.

One of two men allegedly being questioned in connection with the Boston Marathon bombings was shot and killed by an FBI agent in Florida on Tuesday, (Snip)A friend of Ibragim Todashev said he and Todashev were being investigated as part of the Boston bombings. He said Todashev, 27, knew bombing suspect Tamerlan Tsarnaev because both were MMA fighters. The man claims he and Todashev were interviewed by the FBI for nearly three hours on Tuesday. The friend said he left the interview, and when he came back to the apartment he found that there had been a shooting.

WASHINGTON – A top IRS official in the division that reviews nonprofit groups will invoke the Fifth Amendment and refuse to answer questions before a House committee investigating the agency’s improper screening of conservative nonprofit groups. Lois Lerner, the head of the exempt organizations division of the IRS, won’t answer questions about what she knew about the improper screening – or why she didn’t reveal it to Congress, according to a letter from her defense lawyer, William W. House Oversight and Government Reform Committee Chairman Darrell Issa said embattled IRS official Lois Lerner waived her Fifth Amendment rights and will be hauled back to appear before his panel again. The California Republican said Lerner’s Fifth Amendment right to avoid self-incrimination was voided when she gave an opening statement this morning denying any wrongdoing and professing pride in her government service. “When I asked her her questions from the very beginning, I did so so she could assert her rights prior to any statement,” Issa told POLITICO. “She chose not to do so — so she waived.”
