WASHINGTON — Attorney General Eric Holder is heading to Newtown, Conn., to meet with first responders and law enforcement officials about last week´s school shooting. A Justice Department official says Holder is set to depart Washington after meeting with Vice President Joe Biden, who´s leading an administration effort to develop ways for reducing gun violence. The official requested anonymity because Holder´s visit to Newtown has not been publicly announced. The attorney general isn´t expected to participate in any public events during the visit.

Comments:
More political grandstanding by these exploitive ghouls.

What´s he going to do? Sell them guns like he did for the Mexican drug cartels.

Will they be 20 minutes late again?

This problem goes so much deeper than this...

Sorry to sound callous, but what could they tell him? "We went into the school and there were 27 dead persons, mostly little kids."

What foolishness.

The first responders weren´t 20 minutes late. The shooting lasted about 8 minutes and ended when Adam Lanza heard their sirens approaching. He shot himself.

Sending this corrupt, white-hating incompetent jerk to photo op with these people is the worst of insults and contempt!

Is this why there has not been a clear report yet? The 60`s raciest moron will have a meeting with the first responders to tell them what they need to say? what else would it be.

The Fast and Furious Fool is in a town where people were murdered? Where next? Mexico City?
Chicago? Philly?

Watch closely when the deceived green earth people of Newtown pass in their weapons. Are they being laid carefully into vehicles {so they can later be shipped out of country for a profit }, or tossed into heaps like they were somehow tools of the devil ? I suspect the former. Also why does Holder need to show up ? Does he think this will put distance between himself and the Fast and Furious mess ?

Reply 14 - Posted by: MMC, 12/20/2012 6:01:31 PM     (No. 9076697)

When will Holder answer to Fast and Furious gun running? A gun used to kill the beauty queen was traced to FNF.... ´splain please.

I wondered too,#5. If a 911 call comes from an elementary school that a shooter is on the premises, how about 2 minutes, tops, for someone to get there?
I don´t want to second-guess but what happened?

COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) — Ohio State University President Gordon Gee abruptly announced his retirement Tuesday after he came under fire for jokingly referring to ``those damn Catholics´´ at Notre Dame and poking fun at the academic quality of other schools. The remarks were first reported last week by The Associated Press, and Ohio State at the time called them unacceptable and said it had placed Gee on a ``remediation plan´´ to change his behavior.

COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) — The president of Ohio State University could be fired for any more verbal gaffes, trustees told him in a letter that said his mockery of Notre Dame, Roman Catholics and the Southeastern Conference have embarrassed and divided the university and run the risk of diminishing the effectiveness of its efforts. Trustees warned Gordon Gee that comments or actions he makes detracting from Ohio State´s core values are not productive and are unacceptable, according to a copy of the March 11 letter obtained Friday by The Associated Press.

Beverly - This Sunday, the streets of Beverly will look just like they always do. And that’s the problem, some veterans say. The city has cancelled its annual Memorial Day parade for what’s believed to be the first time since the end of the Civil War. Many veterans who were gathered at the Herman A. Spear American Legion Post on Friday night are upset by the decision. “It’s not right to me,” says Ron Innocenti. He is a Vietnam veteran who has not only marched in the city’s Memorial Day parade in the past, he says he has also been its grand marshal. He hates to cancel because

As Americans prepare for Memorial Day—the official kickoff to a summer grilling season of burgers and T-bones—rising beef prices have some consumers balking in the grocery aisles. Retail beef prices are widely expected to set new records in coming weeks after wholesale prices, or the amount meatpackers charge sellers for beef, hit an all-time peak this past week. After achieving new highs for three weeks, choice-grade beef, the most common variety in the U.S., jumped to $2.1137 a pound Thursday, according to the U.S. Department of Agriculture.

Colorado sheriffs suing

DENVER - A group of Colorado sheriffs unhappy with recent gun control laws are planning to file a lawsuit to block them. The sheriffs have called a Friday morning news conference to detail their federal challenge. The lawmen said they would challenge two new laws, one limiting the size of ammunition magazines and another law to expand gun background checks. The laws were passed earlier this year in response to mass shootings in Aurora and at a school in Connecticut. Not all sheriffs opposed the bills, but some were frequent visitors to the state Capitol in an effort to prevent the gun controls.

Washington - Boston Mayor Tom Menino says information he has indicates that the suspects in the Boston Marathon bombing acted alone. Menino tells ABC's "This Week" that he agreed with the decision to lock down Boston all day Friday, based on information officials had at the time. He tells ABC's "This Week" that a pipe bomb was found at another location and that another person was taken into custody. The mayor did not elaborate. One suspect, Dzhokhar Tsarnaev (joh-KHAR' tsahr-NEYE'-ehv), is in the hospital in serious condition. His older brother, Tamerlan, died in a police shootout

Gun control backers:
Senate defeat won´t stop us

WASHINGTON (AP) — President Barack Obama and his gun control allies say Senate rejection of expanded background checks and other restrictions won´t stop their drive to reduce firearms violence. But their path to enacting gun curbs this year seems blocked by the National Rifle Association, and supporters of restrictions appear befuddled about what it will take to push legislation through this Congress. The Senate planned to vote Thursday on two more amendments to a gun control bill. One by Sen. John Barrasso, R-Wyo., would cut aid to state and local governments that release information on gun owners.

A group of whistleblowers, including a number of aviation experts, have come forward in a new documentary to claim that the official explanation for the crash of TWA Flight 800 was wrong and a gas tank explosion did not bring down the flight off the coast of Long Island 17 years ago. However, the six whistleblowers, all part of the original investigation team, stopped short of saying the plane was shot down. Flight 800, a Boeing 747, had just taken off from JFK airport with 230 people aboard on July 17, 1996 enroute to Paris when it exploded

An attorney whose firm represents two Benghazi whistleblowers said Gen. Martin Dempsey, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, lied to the Senate when he said there was never a “stand down” order during the Benghazi attack on Sept. 11, 2012. “What was fascinating is that he explained his lie to them,” Joe DiGenova, an attorney representing one of the whistleblowers, told CNSNews.com. “He actually said they were sent to Tripoli. They were needed in Benghazi,” said DiGenova, a former U.S. attorney, now with the Washington firm of DiGenova & Toensing.

Likening religious schools to segregation--a racist system that forced blacks to attend different schools and use different facilities than whites in the American South--President Barack Obama told a town hall meeting for youth in Belfast, Northern Ireland on Monday that there should not be Catholic and Protestant schools because such schools cause division. "Because issues like segregated schools and housing, lack of jobs and opportunity--symbols of history that are a source of pride for some and pain for others--these are not tangential to peace; they’re essential to it,"

Amid a steady rise of backlash, Edward Snowden, the 29-year-old former National Security Agency contractor who was the source of a spring of leaks about the agency´s surveillance methods, conducted a live chat on The Guardian´s website Monday morning. Judging from some of the pointed questions he´s been asked and the reaction to newly leaked revelations over the past few days, it´s clear that much of the sympathy and support Snowden had built up for his early exposures is eroding. Many Americans supported his decision to leak information about a pair of National Security Agency surveillance programs, which, he detailed, gathered information

Listening to Barack Obama give his speech in Belfast on Monday, it was hard not to stifle a yawn. I kept waiting for the part when he would say something interesting, but, about three quarters of the way through, realised it wasn’t going to come. Judging from television pictures some of his young audience felt the same, after the initial rush of euphoria of receiving the rock star president in their midst had passed. This is not surprising, for we had already heard this number about the inspirational role of the Northern Ireland peace process and the Emerald Isle’s

This is the thirtieth anniversary of the publication of How Democracies Perish, an analysis of the spread of world communism by Jean-François Revel, one of freedom´s most serious French defenders since Tocqueville. At the heart of this work, Revel details "The Tools of Communist Expansion," among which the most relevant for understanding our current situation comes in Chapter 16, "Ideological Warfare and Disinformation." The profound simplicity of Revel´s nuts and bolts account of totalitarianism´s Cold War advance, far from being obsolete

Celebrity chef Paula Deen admitted in a recorded deposition to telling racist jokes, using the N-word, and planning a slavery-themed wedding, according to multiple reports. The May 17 deposition where she made the alleged admissions is part of a $1.2 million lawsuit brought by Lisa Jackson, the former manager of a Savannah, Georgia, restaurant run by Deen and her brother Bubba Hiers. Jackson alleges in the suit that Deen used the N-word at the restaurant and that Hiers sexually harassed her. According to the reports, in the deposition, Deen replied “Yes, of course,”
