Lanzas´ divorce appears
to have been amicable

Associated Press, by Matt Appuzzo and Adam Geller

STAMFORD, Conn. -- The mother of Connecticut school shooter Adam Lanza told a divorce mediator in 2009 that she didn´t like to leave him alone and that she would care for him as long as he needed it. When Lanza´s parents divorced in 2009, the settlement left his mother with a comfortable income and the knowledge that the then-17-year-old boy´s education would be paid for and his medical insurance covered. If there was bitterness and anger between Nancy and Peter Lanza, it is not described in court papers. And there was no mention of any lingering mental health or medical

Insufficient space in Intro to include more of Levy´s observations, but they were positive regarding the Lanzas - their attitude toward each other and toward Adam. His Asperger´s diagnosis was mentioned.

OK, AP has nosed into the Lanzas´ divorce papers. Now, how about Stinky´s real birth certificate, Social Security number, passports, and college admission records and grade transcripts?

AP relishes digging into someone´s private life, what a shock

Agree with #1. The press is a total failure at releasing information and facts on the Obamas. Everyone else is fair game.

Why and how is a court appointed mediator talking to the press about confidential mediation issues?

Let´s try to understand that the lad could have had aspergers, just as many of my fellow professors (and probably I) had. Then along came another problem which caused a psychotic break. And he was intelligent enough to concoct a plan to kill people.
I suppose if I had a psychotic break (I think I had one in 1992 which caused me to vote for Bill Clinton) and someone or something was telling me to kill alot of fellow humans, it would oddly logical for me to go to an elementary school and go to the youngest chilluns´ classroom, to minimize any resistence.
Finally, I must note that the lad did not scream Allah Akbar as he shot the chillun. But Major Hasan, the homegrown filthy islamofascist terrorist pig screamed Allah Akbar when he shot and killed 13 fellow soldiers, and wounded many more.
And which set of killings caused the president to go on national tv, visit the site of the killings, set up a taskforce?
You got it. I guess the psychotic lad should have screamed Allah Akbar, which would have immunized the president from having to deal with ´assault weapons´ thus leaving him time to deal with our fiscal mess.

Why don´t we leave the Lanzas alone?

Where is the father? He could clear up some of these questions.

"Lanzas´ divorce appears to have been amicable."

Boy, that´s a relief. Thank you AP for staying on top of things. A non-amicable divorce might have resulted in some kind of trouble for the family.

You can go home now, media. You´ve done far more than your share.

The endless speculation and the endless digging for dirt is disgusting.

None of us have walked in this family´s shoes.

Thank G-d.

Can´t we please turn off the media hacks and pay our own blessings forward.

Abandoning State Tax System

California should abandon its current tax system and charge everyone the same rate. That’s the proposal made by famed economist Arthur Laffer in a report released Thursday that is highly critical of California’s business climate. Laffer,(Snip) said in an interview that moving to a flat tax rate of about 6.5 percent would reduce complexity over the tax system and free up money for businesses to invest. He also said the rate would be revenue-neutral at full employment, meaning the state would collect the same revenue as it does under the current system. Otherwise, under our current progressive system

Biden Praises Jews, Goes Too Far,

Joe Biden spoke last night in honor of Jewish American Heritage Month. Biden has long, deep ties to the Jewish community — Obama actually picked him in 2008 in part to reassure skittish Jewish Democrats. Biden indeed offered fulsome, heartfelt praise in his remarks, before wandering into highly uncomfortable terrain and delivering a speech that is likely to be quoted by anti-Semites for years and decades to come. (It’s already the subject of excited discussion among the white supremacist community.)

Grief and politics don´t mix. When raw, aching grief and the dirtiest kind of politics meet, a hot volcano of pain and outrage erupts that is unstoppable. But it is necessary.(Snip)before Benghazi, there was Extortion 17, the call sign of a special operations mission in Afghanistan on Aug. 6, 2011. Three months after the strike on Osama bin Laden, 30 Americans -- including 15 from the bin Laden strike-team unit, Navy SEAL Team 6, and two other SEALs -- were killed in the costliest single-day loss for the U.S. military in the Afghanistan war, and the largest SEAL loss

A faulty steering apparatus may bring an early end to NASA’s Kepler space telescope, a $600 million tool in the space agency’s quest for life elsewhere in the universe. Kepler is the first NASA mission capable of finding Earth-size planets in or near the habitable zone, the range of distance from a star where the surface temperature of an orbiting planet might be suitable for liquid water. Launched in 2009, it has discovered thousands of such planets, including a pair just 1,200 light years away.(Snip) But yesterday, Kepler’s mission ran into trouble.

The IRS´s Nonprofit Helper

The Internal Revenue Service last year supplied a left-leaning nonprofit charity with confidential information about conservative organizations, which the charity disseminated to the public, ProPublica reported yesterday. The charity in question was ProPublica itself. We should acknowledge that "left-leaning" is our characterization; ProPublica describes itself in its own tax filings as "entirely non-partisan and non-ideological." ProPublica is legally obliged to be nonpartisan, for it enjoys tax-exempt status under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code, which means that contributions to it are tax-deductible.

If it is proven that the IRS thwarted some groups from obtaining tax-exempt status in fear that their traditional or conservative messages might hurt the 2012 Obama campaign (especially if it did so under pressure from White House-affiliated operatives), and if it is proven that the Obama administration deliberately ignored warnings about lax security at the Benghazi consulate, missed real opportunities to send help, or deliberately massaged intelligence reports in order to mislead the pre-election public about the true nature of Benghazi in order to further a false campaign narrative of a near dormant al-Qaeda

Conservative radio host Mark Levin is very skeptical of the idea that President Obama had absolutely no idea about the IRS tea party targeting before the story broke in the news mere weeks ago. Levin declared adamantly that it is a “flat-out, bald-faced lie” that Obama didn’t know beforehand, citing prior reports by a few conservative news outlets picking up on the news well before the 2012 presidential election. Levin said, “I don’t believe for two seconds that Obama wasn’t aware of this.”

President Obama on Thursday nominated Victoria Nuland, a State Department official involved in the editing of the administration´s talking points on Benghazi, to be the next assistant secretary of state for European and Eurasian affairs. Nuland, a career foreign service officer who was until recently State´s top spokesperson, had long been expected to be nominated the post to replace Philip Gordon, who Obama picked to serve as Middle East coordinator for the National Security Council. Nuland´s nomination -- which requires Senate confirmation -- could come under scrutiny from Republicans who see her as playing a central role in shaping

Anthony Weiner’s New York mayoral candidacy was only made more improbable today after he revealed that he visited a Houston psychiatric facility following his resignation from Congress in 2011. Haunted by scandal surrounding his sexually explicit online communications with women, the Democratic former congressman sought treatment for his compulsive behavior from mental health professionals at the Gabbard Center. According to its website, the facility provides “3-day outpatient psychiatric evaluation,” particularly to “professionals who are in personal or professional crises.” While Weiner did not disclose

MARK LEVIN: So why didn´t Chairman Issa hold an investigative hearing a year ago? Why didn´t Chairman Camp, all Republicans, hold an investigative hearing a year ago, and all the other tripping over themselves right now? I´ll tell you why. Because the establishment Republicans, the RINO Republicans, despise the Tea Party. They despise the conservative movement. We exist to be managed, to be shuttled to the polling place, to vote for their candidates. The Karl Roves of the world, and all the rest of them. They fight us in the primaries, they fight us at the grassroots.

Fox News chief Roger Ailes has sent a memo to his subordinates at the leading cable news network. He sent this memo to his staff today in connection with the federal investigation into an alleged leak to Fox News reporter James Rosen, a story that the Washington Post’s Ann E. Marimow broke earlier this week. The memo’s a masterpiece, too. For all those who wonder what it is about Ailes that endears his people to him — and that makes him such a good interviewee for any media reporter lucky enough to get an audience

WASHINGTON —In a dramatic departure from existing White House procedures, President Obama requested today that his staff start cc’ing him on stuff. “Look, I know a lot of you think I’m really busy and you don’t want to bother me,” the President reportedly told his staff in an Oval Office meeting. “But cc me anyway. It’s good for me to keep up on what’s going on around here.” “It’s not good when I turn on the news and they’re talking about something at the White House and I’m like, whoa, when did that happen?”
