NRA sees rise in membership
after Connecticut school shooting

Fox News, by Staff

Original Article

The National Rifle Association, while staying mostly quiet in the immediate aftermath of the mass shooting in Connecticut, has registered an average of 8,000 new members a day since the tragedy, an NRA source told Fox News. While this broadly aligns with trends seen after similar incidents in the past, the surge in membership this time is said to dwarf past trends. The source, based on his access to an internal memo prepared by the organization’s membership division, said both the number of individual contributions to the NRA and their average amount have risen significantly in this period.

Story obviously false as lefties have been telling us the NRA is directly responsible for Newtown and every other shooting. Who would want to join a group that supports an inalienable right?

An NRA membership card should be the ID for all real Americans. Let it be a show of unity and protest against Obama and the Leftist libs as well as a show of support for the Constitution of the United States.

If they succeed in passing some idiotic, unconstitutional gun control law, this should go through the roof. Sometimes one feels like saying, "Go ahead make my day..."

What would have happened if the principal and the teachers all had guns that day. I doubt this tragedy would have concluded the same way.

I´m already an Endowment Life member, and my wife and daughter are lifers.

So I contributed to the NRA-ILA and the Second Amendment Foundation this week.

I don´t own a gun, or even held a gun, but I certainly believe that people have a right to bear arms based on our 2nd amendment.

Every possible gun-control action was done in CT, but the killer was determined and even killed his mother FIRST where he was able to steal the legally obtained guns.

During the same time frame, an off duty policewoman shot a nut in San Antonio who was trying to shoot up a movie theater. Where are all the stories about her saving lives by being armed and trained?

I have been a Benefactor Member of the NRA for many years. When the media talks about the "Gun Lobby", they´re talking about me.

I am the NRA (and Sarah Palin, and Rhett Butler...).

I wonder what the lefties would be saying if the kid´s mother was an FBI agent and he had stolen her Gov´t issue guns.

This is a shred of good news in a demoralizing, discouraging, heartbreaking 2012. I´m a member of the NRA, but do not own a gun-- yet.

Better hurry #10. If you can still find what you want that is. There has been a run on gun stores lately for some reason.

Over the years, exit polls and other surveys have found that many times as many citizens claim to be NRA members than actually are. Of course you could make the same argument about most other indicators of citizenship as well, but the statistic supports an argument for practicing what you preach.

The character of the country has declined precipitously since Theodore Roosevelt (actually the first progressive candidate for president) held shooting events on the White House lawn and established the National Board for the Promotion of Rifle Practice and Public Law 149 which allowed selling surplus government firearms at cost to civilian shooting clubs. Today we have the government melting down even very valuable historic relic weapons to keep them from collectors.

Every american who has or may someday have a gun or who believes that a constitutional republic is more important than the progressive agenda and/or "world opinion" should join and support the NRA.

A year´s NRA membership costs less than half a tank of gas or taking your significant other out for one meal at a reasonably priced restaurant.

I´ve been an NRA member a couple of times. They teach responsibility and gun safety - not mass murder.

You can pass thousands of laws about something but you can´t stop crazy. This person had committed numerous felonies before he fired the 1st shot. No law restricting magazine size would have stopped him.

Sent them $$$ today. Bill Ayers (Obama) mentor stated that approx. 25,000,000 Americans would have to die in order to inplement leftist agenda. I guess they are not all going to be unarmed citizens like in every other leftist regime.

Well I just re-upped for 3 years. As a side benefit, or penalty, if a jury questionnaire asks for your associations, it will guarantee the defense will use a challenge to get rid of you.

Life member here too along with husband. Our daughter is looking into buying her first gun and we told her to go to our local shooting range to rent and try out different models to see what works best for her. That´s how I settled on my Glock 26. We had an NRA safety instructor friend teach her to shoot when she was 8 years old.

I want to see the stats on gun sales for last weekend. Bet they were through the roof, even with Dick´s no longer selling them.

A Farmers´ Rebellion Lifts
the California GOP

Democrats were writing obituaries for California´s GOP after winning a supermajority in the state legislature last November, thus gaining veto-proof power to raise taxes. But their legislative lock may have slipped after this week´s special election in which Republican farmer Andy Vidak appears to have defeated a Democrat—in a heavily Democratic senate district—who had championed high-speed rail and a higher minimum wage. If Mr. Vidak wins an outright majority—late Friday, he led with 49.8% of the vote and provisional ballots were still being counted—his victory would put Republicans two senate seats short of reclaiming their veto on tax hikes.

CRAWFORD —Former President George W. Bush needed little help to blaze a trail Friday for 14 veterans mountain biking with him through open prairies, slick ravines and steep canyons. That’s because he brought the third annual Warrior 100K Ride — a three-day mountain biking trek to honor service members injured in Afghanistan and Iraq — to the well-worn paths at his Prairie Chapel Ranch outside of Waco. But even as Bush welcomed the wounded warriors to his home to thank them for their service, he made clear that his mission to help veterans extends well beyond the trails

Every Memorial Day, when I run into the grocery store to pick up those last minute items for the three day weekend’s picnic, I’m met with members of the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) selling their poppies. We cherish, too, the poppy red/ that grows on fields where valor led; It seems to signal to the skies/that blood of heroes never dies-- “We Shall Keep the Faith” by Moina Michael -I remember as a kid that it was very common to see paper poppies being sold around Memorial Day. Michelle Obama certainly knows how to work a room! In this case, it was a kindergarten classroom at Savoy Elementary School in Washington D.C., where the patrons were, well, pint-size. The first lady paid a visit to the youngsters, brightening their day with some silly dance moves performed in unison and imparting an important message about hard work and perseverance.Awww. According to the Huffington Post, Obama encouraged the kiddos to "try new things and not be afraid to fail, because we have all failed," and referenced Kerry Washington (also in the audience),

Conservative radio host Mark Levin is very skeptical of the idea that President Obama had absolutely no idea about the IRS tea party targeting before the story broke in the news mere weeks ago. Levin declared adamantly that it is a “flat-out, bald-faced lie” that Obama didn’t know beforehand, citing prior reports by a few conservative news outlets picking up on the news well before the 2012 presidential election. Levin said, “I don’t believe for two seconds that Obama wasn’t aware of this.”

President Obama on Thursday nominated Victoria Nuland, a State Department official involved in the editing of the administration´s talking points on Benghazi, to be the next assistant secretary of state for European and Eurasian affairs. Nuland, a career foreign service officer who was until recently State´s top spokesperson, had long been expected to be nominated the post to replace Philip Gordon, who Obama picked to serve as Middle East coordinator for the National Security Council. Nuland´s nomination -- which requires Senate confirmation -- could come under scrutiny from Republicans who see her as playing a central role in shaping

Anthony Weiner’s New York mayoral candidacy was only made more improbable today after he revealed that he visited a Houston psychiatric facility following his resignation from Congress in 2011. Haunted by scandal surrounding his sexually explicit online communications with women, the Democratic former congressman sought treatment for his compulsive behavior from mental health professionals at the Gabbard Center. According to its website, the facility provides “3-day outpatient psychiatric evaluation,” particularly to “professionals who are in personal or professional crises.” While Weiner did not disclose

Why didn´t Chairman Camp, all Republicans, hold an investigative hearing a year ago, and all the other tripping over themselves right now? I´ll tell you why. Because the establishment Republicans, the RINO Republicans, despise the Tea Party. They despise the conservative movement. We exist to be managed, to be shuttled to the polling place, to vote for their candidates. The Karl Roves of the world, and all the rest of them. On Wednesday, Drummer Lee Rigby of the Royal Regiment of Fusiliers, a man who had served Queen and country honorably in the hell of Helmand Province in Afghanistan, emerged from his barracks on Wellington Street, named after the Duke thereof, in southeast London. Minutes later, he was hacked to death in broad daylight and in full view of onlookers by two men with machetes who crowed "Allahu Akbar!" as they dumped his carcass in the middle of the street like so much roadkill. As grotesque as this act of savagery was, the aftermath was even more unsettling
