| After November 6, the amount of blue on the presidential electoral map made it appear as if the entire Midwest had been swallowed by the Great Lakes. Ohio, Michigan, Illinois, Wisconsin, Iowa, and Minnesota all went for Barack Obama. Most weren’t close. One might think, then, that the American Midwest is hopelessly lost to the forces of big government. Yet within many of these states, something else is happening: conservatives are enacting some of the boldest reforms in the country, to broad public approval. That is right. Blue is the color of the right in politics. Red is the color of the political left! That is why the flag of Red China, get it, RED China is well..red! California is a RED state, so is New York where the lefties are in full control.

Good news! However, until all the states get voter i.d. laws, Repubs will never win another presidential election. Sorry, folks, many are convinced there were "high crimes and misdemeanor" on election day or before (much early voting, not much oversight) in the battleground states!

Sure, local politicians will, hopefully, fix the awful mess the dems have caused....but in the end, with the help of the media, obama will get whatever credit there is to be had. Bet on it.

Republicans are doing well at the State level, holding their own at the House level, unable to exploit opportunities at the Senate level and suffering disaster at the Presidential level. Sound familiar?
It is obvious that the grass roots energy is not being transformed into political success as we go higher. IMO, two reasons. One, the Tea Party is still a novice at coalescing around winning candidates and two, Beltway RINOs are taking advantage of #1.

#3, it´s easier than than having I.D. (though Obama was required to show his, so if it´s good enough for the president, right?)
Finger-print technology -
can´t forge it, and can be easily cross-checked to determine if more than one vote cast, and anywhere in the U.S. too.
That´s what the Republicans should be advocating in conjunction with I.D. (since it was good enough for our president in Illinois).

The Last Hurrah was a novel about the last of the dying breed of Local Politicians who had by sheer political talent assembled a machine with loyal electorate that won election after election. He finally loses to a nobody who appears only on TV because he has no skills in one on one contact. The Local can´t understand how he lost. An adviser finally concludes that FDR was responsible for the shift in patronage politic from local to federal. Ultimately this last election was about race and patronage politics. It´s not surprising that conservatives survived in the House or gained at the state and local levels.

#5 is insightful. Many continue to bang the voter fraud drum. Must give them solace. Facts intervene. Virtually every battle ground state has an R Gov, AG, Secy of State, Assembly and Senate Leader. Reality is simple. Romney was a feckless and inept doofus who stood for nothing. Principled conservatives warned of this fraud, from day one but were told to sit down and shut up. The outcome was predictable.

The first lady went to Bowie State and addressed the graduating class. Her speech was a mix of black history and a salute to the graduates. (Snip) It takes a man of particular vision to know, as Obama did, that the country really was ready to send an African American to the White House. But I also think that some day historians will pore over his many speeches to black audiences. They will see a president who sought to hold black people accountable for their communities, but was disdainful of those who looked at him and sought the same.

One of two men allegedly being questioned in connection with the Boston Marathon bombings was shot and killed by an FBI agent in Florida on Tuesday, (Snip)A friend of Ibragim Todashev said he and Todashev were being investigated as part of the Boston bombings. He said Todashev, 27, knew bombing suspect Tamerlan Tsarnaev because both were MMA fighters. The man claims he and Todashev were interviewed by the FBI for nearly three hours on Tuesday. The friend said he left the interview, and when he came back to the apartment he found that there had been a shooting.

The fact that this bit of information was conveyed to the protesters by a Department of Homeland Security officer who was also in attendance. Longoria, 38, took home a real degree (not an honorary one) in Chicano studies from Cal State Northridge, where she physically attended classes for three years, according to TMZ. "Big day today!!! On “Fox News Sunday” last weekend, White House aide Dan Pfeiffer was asked about President Barack Obama’s whereabouts the night of the Sept. 11 attack in Benghazi. This was the night when we lost our first ambassador in 30 years, and when three other Americans were killed in an attack that lasted all night long at multiple locations within the eastern Libyan city. Since the president is commander in chief, one would think where he was and what he did during such an event would be of obvious public concern.
