| Months before the massacre in Newtown, Conn., put the National Rifle Association on the defensive, the powerful gun rights group faced an unexpected problem. One of its most loyal Democratic friends in Congress was leading a rebellion against an NRA effort to hold Attorney General Eric H. Holder Jr. in contempt of Congress, a cause viewed by Democrats as a political sideshow that had nothing to do with gun rights. “This, my friends, is not a position I relish,” Rep. John D. Dingell (Mich.) wrote in an anguished letter urging fellow gun lovers to reject the NRA’s position.

NRA has had the habit of supporting Democrats even when viable Republicans were available. When I complained they dropped me a form letter that NRA was a
´single issue´ organization. I wrote back that they Democrats were also a ´single issue´ organization……for a gun ban.

This lame piece of nonsense is part of pathetically co-ordinated campaign to first, ban the AR-15, and then make it harder and harder to buy a gun and criminalized the use of a gun. The liberals want to gleefully shove it down our throats like they did with the abortion that is ObamaCare.

The NRA backed Dingy Harry and in Oregon Kurt Shrader one of our representatives. Both big dems. I wrote them, complained and quickly dropped my membership at the time. Lot they cared. Supposedly they said Dingy Harry was very supportive of them. We´ll see.

The left is stuck on this idea that if you get rid of the NRA,lawmakers could just steamroll anti-gun measures through. They don´t get the seriousness of how people take the 2nd amendment at all. Obama knows it,that´s why he assigned the dolt Biden to head the task force. Plus Biden´s bored anyway.

Dingell´s entire career can be summed up in two words- union whore. He´s only pretended to care about the 2nd ammendent on occasions when he was trying to round off enough votes to stay in power for 50+ years.

The latest reporting in the matter of Fox News Channel’s James Rosen indicates the Obama administration fought to keep the search warrant for Rosen’s private email account secret, arguing that the government might need to monitor the account for a lengthy period of time. WASHINGTON — Haynes Johnson, a pioneering Washington journalist who won a Pulitzer Prize for his coverage of the civil rights movement and migrated from newspapers to television, books and teaching, died Friday. The FBI has arrested a San Antonio man on charges he lied to get into the United States and tried to get a sensitive Defense Department position. A FREE press in a democracy demands a delicate balance. The First Amendment means the media must have the right to inquire without hindrance. The government has a legitimate interest in keeping some national security information secret. When these come into conflict, the balance often has been struck this way: The media are free to pursue secrets, but it is up to those in government to keep them. When the media come into possession of information that, if disclosed, could be damaging, the government can plead the case for secrecy — and the media generally are open to persuasion.

The Boy Scouts of America (BSA) have reversed their longstanding membership guidelines to allow homosexuals to join the organization. Abuse Of Power: Any scandal investigation that expects a "Eureka!" moment, a White House e-mail, or Oval Office smoking gun will be misguided. In fact, the dots are already connected directly to the president. Barack Obama is not foolish enough to have a tape recording system hidden in his desk. And his administration staff are not careless enough to send one another incriminating e-mails. If the president was behind the IRS unlawfully harassing conservative groups seeking tax-exempt status, we can be sure the communications were all sotto voce and in persona, like any good Chicago political operator.
