It´s almost as if many in the mainstream press wish we could switch temporarily to a monarchy. That way we could coronate Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and assure her role as our next leader and be done with it. Just weeks after the 2012 election, many in the chattering class already have her down as president-in-waiting. Former Republican House Speaker Newt Gingrich says it would be "virtually impossible" for her to lose the Democratic nomination in 2016 should she run, and Republicans would be "incapable" of competing against her in the general election. Headline resplit by staff.
Comments: "Not tonight Congress, I have a headache." The pathetic weaklings in Congress get the same treatment that drove Bill into Monica´s willing embrace.
Why do we INSIST on calling the Left Wing Press the mainstream press or the mainstream media? If we disagree with them and they are the mainstream, then aren´t we saying of outselves that we are out of the mainstream?
One more time - Charlene Lamb was responsible for answering Ambassador Stevens´ repeated requests for more security. She testified that she consulted with ´senior State Department offials´ (lamb was an assistant secretary of state) and then decided not to assign the requested security, but instead to train more locals and hire them to provide security. She also said money was not the issue, even though democrats repeatedly asked that question. So senior must mean Saint Hillary.
What #9 said. The verb is "crown". The ceremony is the (noun) "coronation".
That said, she´d best haul herself out of bed (or out from under it?), take a shower, wash her hair, and get herself to the hearings she was scheduled to appear before. Her job requires it. Part of the deal.
Hillary isn´t afraid of being assigned some of the blame for Benghazi, she is afraid of being caught in a lie. During the testimony concerning the Rose Law Firm records and the FBI files scandal, she was smart enough to know that if you are caught in a lie the penalty is at least political suicide if not an indictment. She also knew that, if you claim not to remember and answer a question with her famous, "I don´t recall" response, you cannot be proven to be lying. She, like her husband, cannot help trying to minimize their culpability through semantic juggling. It is in their DNA. She knows that there are enough records concerning Benghazi that her "I don´t recall" responses will not be allowed to go unchallenged. She also knows that being caught in a lie would severely damage her 2016 Presidential aspirations. The only way out for Hillary is to avoid testifying under oath at all cost. So far, she is doing just that.
If it is true that the Ambassador knew those arms were intended for Al Queda all along and was sacrificed(along with the others)by Obama because of that--Obama absolutely needs to be charged with murder by intent. As Harry Truman said--the buck stops at the President.
George Mason’s home, Gunston Hall, just down the river from Mount Vernon, is closed on Thanksgiving Day but reopens to visitors the day after. In this season when Americans reflect upon all that we are grateful for, these stately and hallowed grounds are a good place to start. Commonly referred to as the “forgotten founder,” George Mason IV had a fair amount of contempt for politics. Especially politicians. It was a dirty, grubby affair that attracted mostly dirty, grubby people. In other words, Mason was clairvoyant.
SAN FRANCISCO — Interior Secretary Sally Jewell says she will recommend that President Obama act alone if necessary to create new national monuments and sidestep a gridlocked Congress that has failed to address dozens of public lands bills. Jewell said the logjam on Capitol Hill has created a conservation backlog, and she warned that the Obama administration would not "hold its breath forever" waiting for lawmakers to act. "The president will not hesitate," Jewell said in an interview in San Francisco last week. "I can tell you that there are places that are ripe for setting aside."
Of all the events commemorating the half-century since the Kennedy assassination, Ted Kennedy Jr. said Saturday night’s reunion of John F. Kennedy’s White House staff was the one not to be missed. “I don’t want to go to Arlington Cemetery,’’ he told hostess Nancy Hogan Dutton. “What I want is to be here in your home.’’ The point of the gathering of about 100 old friends was not the death of the president but his life — and theirs when they worked for him. No matter what they went on to achieve, reaching for the moon was hard to top.
An overdue measure to outlaw employment discrimination based on sexual orientation and gender identity cleared a procedural hurdle on Monday night in the Senate. The move is one step toward putting into federal law a basic principle most Americans support: Job applicants and employees should be judged on their professional credentials and the caliber of their work, and not be held back because of who they are. The Employment Nondiscrimination Act, however, has a significant flaw — a terribly broad religious exemption
Former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush was the honoree at the annual Jack Kemp Leadership Award Dinner on Monday night, delivering a speech that laid out ways conservatives can advance the “American idea” that the dinner’s namesake advocated. Bush advocated free market principles, especially in energy policy. We should let market forces, not crony capitalism, decide where to invest and how to incentivize citizens to conserve,” Bush, a possible GOP candidate in 2016, said, advocating approval of the Keystone XL pipeline, “rational” regulations on fracking, and opening federal lands to drilling. “A real energy strategy could add an additional 1 percent growth over
Our leaders unite — against us Just when you thought nobody around here could agree on anything, Democrats and Republicans in Congress come together to unanimously express their unified and unwavering view of the innocent American taxpayer: SCREW YOU! That’s right. You can’t get these people to agree on whether it’s raining outside, but when it comes to their deep disdain for us suckers paying all the bills around here, a hot case of venereal bipartisanship breaks out all over the place.
Appearing on Andrea Mitchell´s MSNBC 1 p.m. ET hour show on Tuesday, Wisconsin Congressman Sean Duffy slammed the press for not doing its job in pointing out the hypocrisy of ObamaCare being delayed for certain groups but not for all Americans: "...the media won´t even ask the question about, ´Why are you [the Obama administration] treating families different than big businesses?´...That´s how pathetic, I think, news reporting has become, when we won´t ask tough questions to the administration.
A veteran Washington adviser who has worked for four Presidents on both sides of the political aisle said that the stunning Government Accountability Report report that found President Barack Obama has not had a one-on-one meeting with Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius since the passage of Obamacare over three years ago is an indictment of the entire White House operation and shows that the Obama administration has bordered on "malfeasance." "I have no doubt the White House is right, that Secretary Sebelius was in several group meetings with the president about health care," Gergen caveated, "but the whole
President Barack Obama’s Facebook page on Saturday posted a message honoring the dead from Pearl Harbor—accompanied by a picture of Obama descending the stairs next to the Pearl Harbor Memorial. The picture barely fits the name of the Arizona Memorial so it can frame Obama in the foreground. The post´s statement reads: Today, with solemn pride and reverence, let us remember those who fought and died at Pearl Harbor, acknowledge everyone who carried their legacy forward, and reaffirm our commitment to upholding the ideals for which they served. President Obama The Obama Administration´s current shipbuilding plan shrinks the size of
On his way to the podium at the memorial ceremony for former South African president Nelson Mandela, President Obama walked down the line of dignitaries, greeting other leaders there to pay their respects. Among the hands shaken: that of Cuban leader Raul Castro. Obama neither made a special effort to shake Castro’s hand nor to avoid him. A snub might have been awkward: In his speech, Obama praised Mandela’s “greatest gift” as “his recognition that we are all bound together in ways that can be invisible to the eye; that there is a oneness to humanity; that we achieve ourselves by
A “presidential selfie” featuring President Barack Obama, British Prime Minister David Cameron, and Denmark’s Prime Minister Helle Thorning-Schmidt at Nelson Mandela’s memorial service began making the rounds this morning, but it’s the person not included in the frame who caught everyone’s attention: As anyone with two eyes and a Twitter account has noticed, Michelle Obama does not appear amused. Of course, though a picture says a thousand words, not all of those words are necessarily true. FLOTUS might not have even known the photo was taking place. Or she could disapprove of funeral selfies. Either way.
A black fashion student says he was brutally attacked by a gang of Hasidic men who shouted anti-gay slurs at him while he was walking through Williamsburg after a night of partying, the Daily News has learned. Taj Patterson, 22, was headed home to Fort Greene around 4:30 a.m. on Dec. 1 when he says more than a dozen ultra-Orthodox Jewish men began assaulting him on Flushing Ave. and yelling, “Stay down, f----t!”
Just how much do many Hollywood liberals hate conservatives? In an interview with Playboy, Ben Affleck said, "When I watch a guy [on film] I know is a big Republican, part of me thinks, I probably wouldn’t like this person if I met him": PLAYBOY: You developed a political profile campaigning for presidential candidates Al Gore, John Kerry and Barack Obama. How did that come about? AFFLECK: I grew up in a house with a mother who was a teacher and a Freedom Rider—very left-wing Democrats living in a heterogeneous working-class neighborhood. I picked up a lot of those values there, and I
The Obama State Department has finally released a second round of photos revealing the harrowing devastation wrought by a terrorist attack on the U.S. Consulate in Benghazi on Sept. 11, 2012. The new photographs depict rampant damage to the consulate. They show charred walls, smoldering fires, Arabic graffiti defacing exterior walls, and scattered debris throughout. The extent of the damage would lead any reasonably serious person to conclude that this was a cold, calculated attack, carefully coordinated to mark the 11th anniversary of Sept. 11, 2001. Unfortunately for the American people, the Obama-Clinton-Rice cabal that led to the Benghazi cover-up was
