| WASHINGTON — The movie “Zero Dark Thirty” suggests that the CIA’s harsh interrogation techniques led to Osama bin Laden. Republican Sen. John McCain watched the movie Monday night and says it left him sick — because it’s wrong. McCain has said the waterboarding of al-Qaida’s No. 3 leader, Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, did not provide information that led to the bin Laden’s compound in Pakistan. McCain said Tuesday that he was provided a copy of the movie and the filmmakers fell “hook, line and sinker” for the notion that enhanced interrogation provided the critical information. The link worked fine for me.
I think John McCain is seeing the world as he´d like it to be. We´ve all read the stories of enhanced interrogation working, somewhere sometime. Maybe the movie took some artistic license, and changed the person it worked on. I don´t remember who squealed, but someone did. Since we do not torture, like other governments, if it didn´t work, we wouldn´t do it. Americans are generally good people. Even the interrogators.

KSM was waterboarded and it´s a known fact he spilled real, valuable intelligence. John McCain, with good reason, is not a rational voice on the subject of torture vs enhanced interrogation.

The guy who did the interrogating said it worked. Can´t remember his name but it´s hispanic.I think he´s written a book about it.
McCain thinks he´s the leading authority on this simply because he was a POW.
IIRC,lawyers and doctors were present during harsh interrogations,it wasn´t like one of Saddam´s testicle shocking torture rooms.

#3 is correct. We did get good information from waterboarding. But it did not lead us to bin Laden, however. If it had, we would have captured him long ago. Zero didn´t want to even try capturing him even though he was already practically on his deathbed--he had him assassinated just as he had Al Awlaki (sp?) assassinated. Obama, the tyrant, thinks it is okay to go around killing people aa he pleases.

McCain is right and wrong. From what I´ve read, while KSM provided no specific info on the courier who was tracked to UBL´s lair, his deceptive/evasive answers lead to greater
interest in this person that subsequently lead to his ID, tracking and the location of UBL´s lair. I refuse to believe Pakistan´s ISI did not know where UBL was.

#2 I respectfully disagree with your premise that "American" interrogators would be more humane. Having gone through the special forces "evade and capture" training, I know for a fact what "our" interrogators are capable of and still carry some of the scars from my incounters with them trying to get my "special word" BTW they didn´t get it either!

A shooting as the Warriors game let out Thursday night left two fans dead - the driver of a Porsche was killed by bullets and the passenger was killed as he staggered out onto Interstate 880 in Oakland. Now, police are turning to Warriors fans and nearby surveillance video from the O.co Coliseum for help in finding the killers. House Oversight Committee Chairman Darrell Issa (R-Calif.) formally demanded that retired ambassador Thomas Pickering submit to being deposed by the committee next Thursday. The subpoena comes in the wake of a series of acrimonious public exchanges this week between the two men. Issa didn´t issue a subpoena to former chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Michael Mullen, who co-authored the Benghazi report with Pickering.
