Well, said, Ted. Agree with everything said, here. Sadly, our American society will probably not recover. I expect more unrest, more violence, more death, more government intervention, and the viscious cycle will continue until all collapses. (Mad Max of the US is coming.)

There is such contempt for anything moral, spiritual and right - led by the DemoRat Socialist party. Look at who we elected? A man who spent 20 years listening to hate speak and total contempt for America spewed by Reverand (and I use that term with suspect) Wright. And we wonder why we´re collapsing? Greed & power. Agree that our culture is declining. It´s the decay caused by the "It takes a village" mentality. It doesn´t take a village. It takes a family, a mom and dad if possible, who instill decent moral values in their children without the interference of Leftists who want to introduce all manner of deviancy into those children´s lives.

I was talking with a friend today. We were discussing the things that all the good parents we knew had tried to do with their kids. It boiled down to church or synagogue, scouting or team sports, music or swimming or other lessons, family dinner most nights, no TV until homework was done, no cable TV, no TV in the kid´s rooms, little or no video games (and the only ones permitted were challenging, not violent). As the kids got older, we knew who their friends were and where they were going.

Most good parents we knew had worked hard to keep the evils of our culture out of their homes. Sometimes, even that hadn´t been enough.

It took less than five minutes to read Ted´s comments and he says it all. We must re-do the goodness in our pasts. Family supper together, shared chores, mutual love and respect. Speak and touch one another...express your love to your family members and respect them. Be a unit, a family. Face the world knowing that you have a bond of love among you. It works! But we must work to keep it. It´s God´s will.

Let me add that libs have spent decades coddling youth, refusing to push them or hold them to standards, more concerned about their self-esteem and fragile psyches rather than preparing them for life out in the harsh, cruel world. When the kids finally get there, they aren´t prepared for it. Most turn to mom and dad or some government hack like Obumbler to bail them out, but some just snap and start firing. If conservatives really want to make a difference, they need to make inroads into the educational system. As long as education is dominated by libtards, our kids are doomed.

Obama said something the other day that more or less endorsed pot smoking. When you have the sort of p*** poor moral leadership from the preident,social decay isn´t far behind.

Obama was out shedding crocodile tears over this shooting but didn´t bat an eye whe nhe heard about botched abortion babies being left to die in utility closets.

We also have a very bad spoiled brat culture going on in this country.Just look as a supposed reverend threatening to gov. of Mich.over a duly passed law.

Kids play brinkmanship with their parents all the time when they don´t get their way as far making suicide attempts.I can´t think of anything more intimidating to a parent than that. The peer pressure in schools to wear this or that clothing or having the latest gadget phone are running parents into deep debt.

You have websites glorifying anorexia and it doesn´t seem to bother anybody.

Ted, you don´t know what you are talking about. I would have agreed with you 30 years ago...before I had a family member with serious mental illness and learned the truth. Serious mental illness doesn´t care whether you are a Democrat or a Republican. It doesn´t matter if you go to church every Sunday. It doesn´t matter if two loving parents stay together for life or divorce. It doesn´t matter whether you watch Disney movies or violent movies. Rich or poor. Black or white.

No one goes around pontificating that different values or morals or whatever would stop cancer in its tracks. Or Alzheimers. We are wise enough to realize that these are diseases, treatable in some cases, but also sometimes fatal. The serious mental illnesses - schizophrenia, schzioaffective, bipolar, depression and obsessive-compulsive disorders - are diseases. On average, they cut about 20 years off of a lifespan. They can be effectively treated with medication, but often the person is unaware that he/she is ill because of how the disease affects the brain.

Moral decay didn´t cause the Connecticut killings. Untreated mental illness did.

However if you read the lyrics to some of his songs from his younger days, you might appreciate the irony here. He would have been the epitome of moral decay, according to my parents´ generation. I guess what I´m saying is that every generation says this about the ones coming up. Doesn´t make them wrong...there are some very troubling things about kids these days.
But adulthood does bring a new perspective, and every generation says this. Yes, there is moral decay...no question. But I know a lot of young people and they are wonderful, generous, caring, and have their heads on straight.
