Great Scott! Racist GOP Picks
An African-American Senator

Congress: The first black Republican senator in three decades will be a spokesman for Tea Party conservatism and a proud member of the party that was founded to fight slavery and made the civil rights revolution possible. Though he´ll inevitably be dismissed as a "token" or worse, Rep. Tim Scott, the next Republican senator from the former slave state of South Carolina, and the first black GOP senator since Edward Brooke of Massachusetts, shatters once again the stereotype of the GOP as a party of racists and sexists.

The Tea Party and conservatives are old white men, according to the msm and all democrats. So, following that , there is no such thing as a black conservative.

It wouldn´t matter if this were on the news 24/7 for a month. Many of Ø´s voters, who have no idea who represents them in Congress, wouldn´t know Tim Scott from Dred Scott.

Wasn´t it last week some news person (female) said Repubs don´t like women and want women to move forward.

Now look! A female Republican Governor appointed a black man as Senator.

Well, well, well. What do you say now, DemoRats?

As another poster said...silence. From DemoRats and MSM.

One-sided and biased. Shame on you all.

1st black senator from the south since 1881. Loved by the Tea Party yet. Things are looking up!

Tim is a great guy and very much a part of our community. I wish everyone would lay off the whole black thing even when it´s supportive. He must be so bloody sick and tired of hearing it. Tim is a fiscal conservative who served his constituents well on county council, in our state house and in the US House. He is smart, funny, articulate, telegenic, charismatic, ethical and persuasive. Forget his skin color.

A good pick. Here´s wishing him well.

If every last Republican was Black the left would still be yelling:"Uncle Tom"...."House Negro"....and any other vile insult imaginable to avoid any discussion of actual policy and it´s repercussions.

Leftists are so......tribal.

Racist GOP?
Democrats held slaves, founded the KKK, hung blacks from trees, kept blacks out of white schools, opposed the Civil Rights Act, etc.
GOP freed the slaves.
Evidently, no good deed goes unpunished.

Tim Scott is an excellent choice by Gov Haley! His skin color has nothing whatever to do with his competence and qualifications. We here in SC can hardly wait until he takes office!

It´s a huge deal but ONLY if the GOP strategizes,, unifies the message and MAKES the appointment of this wonderful African-American man a very big deal. Every single Republican - analyst, consultant, Congressman, Senator, etc., needs to get t his in no matter what else they are being interviewed for. Unfortunately, we are not seeing it.

The GOP has diversity; it is just another MSM myth that it doesn´t. But welcome Senator Scott!

Being true to their actual beliefs, are the demonrats going to make him ride in the back of the bus? Make him drink out of a designated fountain? Black ball him from the Senate gormet dining room? Etc., etc.

Reply 19 - Posted by: Spidey, 12/19/2012 6:52:36 AM     (No. 9073787)

RGIII of the Redskins just broke a single season record of jersey sales which obviously demonstrates his overall popularity. But that wasn´t good enough for a black leftist on ESPN declaring him a "conrball brother" because it´s possible he´s a republican. So no one is immune from the black left´s tirades if you´re a non conformist black. A simple GOP black senator doesn´t have a chance against these haters.

My hat is tipped to the soon to be Senator. He along with Ted Cruz, Jeff Flake and Deb Fischer to make their mark in the Senate and be the leaders. 4 strong conservatives supported by conservatives.

Disarmament: President Obama has proposed targeting cuts in deployed atomic weapons of up to a third below levels achieved in a 2010 treaty with Russia. He wants a world without nuclear arms — specifically ours. Only a shameless politician could invoke the name of President Kennedy in Berlin to announce the nuclear disarmament of America. When Kennedy proclaimed "Ich bin ein Berliner" in June 1963, it was a statement of solidarity with the free people of West Berlin and a pledge of resistance to the tyranny that surrounded it. It was not an act of

War On Terror: President Obama is practically engineering a silent coup against flawed Afghan President Hamid Karzai, with whom we replaced the Taliban in 2001. He´s copying America´s worst mistake of the Vietnam War. A perfect comparison it may not be, but disturbing similarities exist between the Obama administration´s unfolding abandonment of Afghanistan´s corrupt President Karzai and the Kennedy administration´s betrayal of South Vietnamese President Ngo Dinh Diem 50 years ago. Karzai on Wednesday backed out of impending talks with the Taliban after the U.S. announced its diplomats will negotiate directly with the country´s bloodthirsty former rulers.

President Obama insists his policies are driven by a "common sense" approach. He also speaks in terms of "we the people" and "the government is us." Such declarations are reminiscent of old Soviet posters displayed for all to see: "ALL POWER BELONGS TO THE PEOPLE" and "PEOPLE AND COMMUNIST PARTY ARE ONE." But the real power in the USSR was in the hands of Communist Party leaders. They, in the name of the people, defined foes of centralized government as "enemies of the people." Similarly, Obama´s Department of Homeland Security has defined right-wing extremists as "those that are mainly anti-government,

Prostate cancer that was discovered too late. I´m numb sitting here today in a state of shock about this.

A massive twit-storm washed over your humble columnist yesterday, set off by our Wall Street Journal op-ed defending an Obama nominee and the rights of criminal defendants. To recap briefly: Sen. Claire McCaskill has placed a "permanent hold" on the nomination of Gen. Susan Helms to be vice commander of the Air Force Space Command. McCaskill is punishing Helms for having granted clemency to an officer under her command, Capt. Matthew Herrera, who was convicted of aggravated sexual assault. We reviewed the facts and concluded that Helms was correct in holding that the prosecution case was so

A group of whistleblowers, including a number of aviation experts, have come forward in a new documentary to claim that the official explanation for the crash of TWA Flight 800 was wrong and a gas tank explosion did not bring down the flight off the coast of Long Island 17 years ago. However, the six whistleblowers, all part of the original investigation team, stopped short of saying the plane was shot down. Flight 800, a Boeing 747, had just taken off from JFK airport with 230 people aboard on July 17, 1996 enroute to Paris when it exploded

An attorney whose firm represents two Benghazi whistleblowers said Gen. Martin Dempsey, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, lied to the Senate when he said there was never a “stand down” order during the Benghazi attack on Sept. 11, 2012. “What was fascinating is that he explained his lie to them,” Joe DiGenova, an attorney representing one of the whistleblowers, told CNSNews.com. “He actually said they were sent to Tripoli. They were needed in Benghazi,” said DiGenova, a former U.S. attorney, now with the Washington firm of DiGenova & Toensing.

Amid a steady rise of backlash, Edward Snowden, the 29-year-old former National Security Agency contractor who was the source of a spring of leaks about the agency´s surveillance methods, conducted a live chat on The Guardian´s website Monday morning. Judging from some of the pointed questions he´s been asked and the reaction to newly leaked revelations over the past few days, it´s clear that much of the sympathy and support Snowden had built up for his early exposures is eroding. Many Americans supported his decision to leak information about a pair of National Security Agency surveillance programs, which, he detailed, gathered information

Likening religious schools to segregation--a racist system that forced blacks to attend different schools and use different facilities than whites in the American South--President Barack Obama told a town hall meeting for youth in Belfast, Northern Ireland on Monday that there should not be Catholic and Protestant schools because such schools cause division. "Because issues like segregated schools and housing, lack of jobs and opportunity--symbols of history that are a source of pride for some and pain for others--these are not tangential to peace; they’re essential to it,"

Listening to Barack Obama give his speech in Belfast on Monday, it was hard not to stifle a yawn. I kept waiting for the part when he would say something interesting, but, about three quarters of the way through, realised it wasn’t going to come. Judging from television pictures some of his young audience felt the same, after the initial rush of euphoria of receiving the rock star president in their midst had passed. This is not surprising, for we had already heard this number about the inspirational role of the Northern Ireland peace process and the Emerald Isle’s

Charlie Rose last night asked President Obama his new Syria policy. The president first objected to it being called a new policy. "I´m not sure you can characterize this as a new policy. This is consistent with the policy that I´ve had throughout," he said. Obama then explained the goal is regional stability, and especially in Syria. "Really, what we´re trying to do is take sides against extremists of all sorts and in favor of people who are in favor of moderation, tolerance, representative government, and over the long-term, stability and prosperity for the people of Syria," said Obama.

Marco Rubio. Paul Ryan. The IRS. Illegal immigration. And fraud to the tune of billions.. Now there’s a combustible mix. Let’s start with the IRS, illegal immigration and fraud. We’ll come back in a minute to Senator Rubio and Congressman Ryan. For those who came in late, a year before the IRS scandals burst onto the scene in early May of 2013, an alert investigative reporter for WTHR-Indianapolis (Channel 13), Bob Segall by name, produced a stunning piece of journalism. Segall’s video report is found here and we will quote from his story for the basics.
