| TAPPER: The president’s close friend and adviser, David Axelrod, on Sunday evening, after the — watching the president’s speech, was watching a football game, and an ad came on for a violent video game. And he tweeted, shouldn’t we quit — he tweeted an expression of support for banning a certain kind of weapons or regulating certain kinds of weapons, but then he said, shouldn’t we also quit marketing murder as a game? And this touches on the cultural aspect that you seem to be alluding to also being part of the solution. And I’m wondering if the president

Jake should simply write a blog of questions the president should be asked. That would be infinitely more readable without the interspersed blather of Carney. The questions won´t be answered anyway, so why not deep-six the wheezings of his spokesman.

#2 - Bet the White House ´spokesman´ doesn´t know this - (or more accurately, wishes *we* didn´t know it...)
As a freshman at Columbia University in 1970, future Attorney General Eric Holder participated in a five-day occupation of an abandoned Naval Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTC) headquarters with a group of black students later described by the university’s Black Students’ Organization as “armed,” The Daily Caller has learned...
Yeah well...what do you expect from an administration that hustles guns to Mexico illegally in order to try and make US gun ownership look bad?

Tens of millions have played these games without consequence. There is only causality in the minds of those predisposed against this kind of entertainment for their own personal reasons.
The "occupy" movement has provoked more violence and destruction than these games ever will.

So, there were no murders prior to video games? A handful of evil folk (4 or 5) out of 300 mill good folk means we must penalize the millions for the evil of a couple. Wow!

The point is (to follow liberal logic) that if the NRA is to blame, than the entertainment industry is also to blame.
I don´t think for one minute either is to blame of course, I´m just following the liberal logic of correlation equals causation.

You know what else coincides with these mass murders? Two income households (I know they´re a necessity for many people, but they weren´t always), a 50% divorce rate, anti-humanist environmental movements, florescent lightbulbs throughout the home (that´s right, I´m goin´ there), the closing of mental hospitals, huge upswing of hormonal birth control (possibly affecting our water supply and chemically infesting all of us) ... see how it works? Something exists and something else exists. Therefore, the first must cause the second. Sheesh.
I guess it´s a conversation they can try to have, but the reality is the same as guns. The games do not seem to result in violent behavior in the vast majority of those who play them.

There are a lot of mentally ill people in the USA, but only a small percentage of them pose a danger to other people. All those mentally ill people can vote, and most of them most probably vote for the liberal Democrats, because of their support for expansive social programs.
Like all Democrat constituency groups, mentally ill people have a place in Democrat identity politics, and are considered to be part of the disabled community. For those reasons you rarely will hear a Democrat politician blame an individual mentally ill person for committing even the most heinous crime. Instead the Democrat will go off in left field and blame a gun, the lack of gun control, or some past statement made by some Republican or conservative, that will be flipped out of context to use as a basis to demagogue the issue in an attempt to gain political advantage.
Guns have been around in great numbers since colonial times, most of the time completely unregulated, but only after the advent of violent movies and especially very violent video games have mass shootings come about.
Most Democrat politicians, because of the major support that the entertainment industry gives to the Democrat Party, will not admit that those movies and video games clearly over time have a very disturbing and unpredictable influence upon the small percentage of the mentally ill who at anytime could jump off the reality cliff and quickly murder a lot of people. It´s pretty clear that if those violent moves and games did not exist, the mass shootings might not have occurred, and gun ownership would not be an issue.

The dimwit Dems think of themselves as gods who need to micromanage the masses to create an ever elusive Utopia. They are the disgustingly delusional ones who need a reality check. A few years from now no one will remember their names.

The violent games and violent movies probably affect some of our unstable citizens but we don´t need any laws regulating them.
We especially don´t need another government agency meddling with the First Amendment. I can easily see them picking and choosing which games and movies to ban for politically correct reasons.

A religious group spewing what the owners of One Liberty Place call hate speech against women, whites and gays can no longer demonstrate immediately outside the building´s entrance at 16th and Chestnut Streets, a judge ruled today. The owners of One Liberty Place in Center City Philadelphia filed a lawsuit Wednesday against the Israelite School of Universal Practical Knowledge. The group is frequently seen perched on Center City street corners shouting at passersby through bullhorns. Liberty Place Retail Associates, which owns the building, has asked the state court to bar the group from gathering in front of the entrance

WASHINGTON — Schoolchildren from New Jersey shore communities battered by Superstorm Sandy will join Michelle Obama for a garden harvest next week. The White House says the first lady will also be joined Tuesday by students who helped plant the crops last month. The New Jersey students are from Union Beach Memorial School in Union Beach and Long Beach Island Grade School in Ship Bottom. Both schools were damaged in last October’s storm. Both also teach their students about healthy eating, which is one of the first lady’s causes. The students who helped plant lettuce, broccoli and various other crops

TRENTON — President Barack Obama will return to New Jersey on Tuesday to survey Hurricane Sandy recovery efforts with Gov. Chris Christie, according to a statement obtained by The Star-Ledger. The visit will mark Obama´s second trip to the shore since the storm hit about six months ago. “As residents and businesses prepare for a busy summer season, President Obama will visit the Jersey Shore with Governor Christie on Tuesday to view the ongoing recovery efforts after Hurricane Sandy devastated areas of the coastline last fall," the White House statement says.

Thursday morning on Chris Jansing´s MSNBC show, Politico Senior Reporter Lois Romano referred to Guantanamo Bay as a "really bad political tar baby" for President Obama: JANSING: Lois, let me start with Guantanamo Bay. Everybody knows [Obama] made this campaign pledge the first time he ran. Again to the question ´why now?´ -- was he pushed by the hundred prisoners who are on hunger strikes? ROMANO: I think it just came to another boiling point right now. [Obama] ran on this in 2008, and if you recall, when he came into office, there was a lot of turmoil

There have been a number of new revelations this week in the ever expanding scope of the IRS scandal. However, even with so many developments in the investigation of this egregious scandal, there was extremely limited coverage of the unfolding of this affair in the morning news of many more liberal stations like ABC, NBC, and CBS. In contrast, Fox News devoted almost 15 minutes in their programming on Thursday morning’s Fox & Friends show to enlighten the public of all of the new information in the scandal. The only other station to provide any coverage

In a long-awaited speech at the National Defense University, Barack Obama claimed that the nature of international terror attacks threatening the United States has changed since Sept. 11, 2001, with ´no large-scale attacks´ on America occurring since then. But his definition of ´large-scale attacks,´ his speech made clear, doesn´t include the 2013 Boston Marathon attack that wounded hundreds, the 2012 Benghazi terror attack that injured dozens and killed four, and the 2009 attack at Fort Hood that killed 13 and injured 30. All those attacks had the potential to leave far more American bodies in their wake than they actually did.

Another major political speech, another Code Pink heckling. During President Obama‘s counterterrorism policy speech at National Defense University on Thursday afternoon, Code Pink co-founder Medea Benjamin interrupted when the topic turned to the closing of the military detention facility at Guantanamo Bay. “I’m about to address it, ma’am,” Obama said as Benjamin went off about the hunger strike currently taking hold amongst Gitmo detainees. “Why don’t you sit down? But you’ve got to let me speak.” “You are commander-in-chief! You can close Gitmo today!”

Former Rep. Anthony Weiner, whose career in public life came to an abrupt end when he sent lewd pictures to a college student on Twitter, jumped back into politics on Wednesday by announcing a bid for mayor of New York City. “Look, I’ve made some big mistakes and I know I’ve let a lot of people down,” the Democrat said in a 2-minute video announcing his bid. “But I’ve also learned some tough lessons. I’m running for mayor because I’ve been fighting for the middle class and those struggling to make it for my entire life.

The dam protecting the IRS scandal began to crack today when Lois Lerner, the IRS official who announced, and apologized for, the improper singling out of conservative-leaning organizations by IRS employees under her command, announced through her criminal defense lawyer that she will not testify as scheduled tomorrow before the House Oversight Committee. Rather, she will assert her Fifth Amendment right against self-incrimination. This marks an enormous milestone in the IRS investigation. It can now be taken as more or less established that crimes were committed by Obama administration employees. Lerner’s lawyer tried to minimize the significance

The public got its first look Thursday at Lois Lerner, who has gone from faceless IRS bureaucrat to the face that launched what feels like 1,000 congressional hearings and conspiracy theories. But it was only a brief sighting since she didn´t stay long at a House hearing to further probe her role in how some IRS workers came to target conservative groups seeking tax-exempt status. (Snip)She did make a short statement to declare her innocence, however. Lerner´s motivation was more transparent than much of what the IRS has done in connection with this controversy. She was determined to

When you get right down to it, the political targeting and stalling of tax-exempt applications by the IRS was an effort to defund the Tea Party. Rick Santelli, one of the Tea Party founders and my CNBC colleague, was the first to make this point. I’ve taken it a step further: The IRS was taking the Tea Party out of play for the 2012 election, as it looked to avoid a repeat of 2010 and another Tea Party landslide. There are a lot of numbers out there.

What´s so interesting about 60 tea partiers protesting the IRS in San Jose, California on Tuesday, May 21st? The fact that this bit of information was conveyed to the protesters by a Department of Homeland Security officer who was also in attendance. What was a DHS agent doing at the San Jose Tea Party protest? (snip) they weren´t just spying on us in San Jose and monitoring us in San Francisco, they were watching us throughout the entire state
