Where are the fathers?
Israel Hayom, by Ruthie Blum

Original Article

Posted By:JumboHC, 12/18/2012 11:14:30 AM

It was inevitable that the mourning of Friday’s massacre in Connecticut would be accompanied by a discussion of the ills of American society. It was to be expected, as well, that the horror of the 27 people shot dead — 20 young children, six adults, and the murderer’s own mother — would lead to renewed calls for stricter gun-control legislation. Other topics examined since the shocking mass slaughter at an elementary school in a crime-free neighborhood

Comments:
We are all outraged and horrified by what happened in Connecticut. But are we prepared to accept the truth? The author points out what too many are afraid or unwilling to accept.

The author should know that Fathers are just sperm donors and after that Women don´t need ´em. Or have the Women changed their minds again?

My only point of criticism would be her reference to Adam Lanza as a "homeschooled social misfit", as though one preceded from the other. He wasn´t homeschooled until late in high school and seemed to always be a social misfit.

But that´s probably just this homeschool Mama´s sensitivity to the "socialization" issue talking.

This is 2012. We don´t need no stinking fathers.
By the way, it seems to me that most left wing loons are raised in single parent families.

In those parts of the world where ammunition is sparse and dear, most killing is still accomplished with a machete.

I´d rather be shot.

It´s a violent world.

We are only just barely out of the caves and jungles.

Nothing has changed.

Another stupid article. There are plenty of in-tact families with Dad very involved and a child has serious mental illness. Psychotic breaks happen in spite of Dad´s presence. Quit trying to change the subject. Those with serious mental illness in our society need easier access to treatment (without the laws putting all sorts of barriers in the way of family and law enforcement in getting them to treatment.) And the seriously mentally ill do not need access to guns any more than 2 year olds need access to guns. The Founding Fathers never intended to arm psychotic citizens.

There are a lot of recent developments that we can point to as potential causes:

* two income households/latch-key kids
* cultural nihilism
* cultural moral relativity
* Socialist policies that take responsibility from the individual and make them dependent (and demanding) on the state
* the ACLU´s push to make it impossible to commit a family member with violent tendencies
* Hollywood´s push to portray any person committed to a mental institution as a victim
* Divorce/single parent homes
* realistic violence in the entertainment industry

They want to talk only about guns because they certainly don´t want to talk about any other factors that might make them uncomfortable about their own choices.

Ruthie, shall we consder the media/culture and itheir continual denigration, criticism of all things white male?

Sorry for the second post, but I really wanted to add another one:

* Was he raised going to church? (if he had been, you know that´d be relevant to the Democrats, so I think it´s relevant if he was)
* If he was an atheist, was he the "live and let live" type or the kind who is full of hate.
* Was he registered to vote? Which party?

I noticed that they started taking out after the mom for being a "survivalist" and then they backed off. I wonder if she was registered Dem. I feel like her registration would be big news if she were a Republican.

She lost me at "home schooled social misfit." Do you always point out when someone is a public school social misfit?

Statistically, these events are not happening more frequently, by the way.

More psycho-babble from the "uninformed but full of speculation" front. Worthless blather.

I don´t understand the criticisms here. The author had a very good point--what kind of man leaves his ticking time bomb of a son with a gun-hoarding crazy mom? It would appear that he wiped the dust off his sandals and started up with his new family.

You can highlight other issues--media, video games, mental issues. ACLU, etc,...but the author´s point is still valid.

As a father of 5, and a man raised by a single mom and two older sisters, this author NAILS it! Despite all of the psycho-babble out there, happy-disciplined-achieving children come from homes where the father has a strong loving presence and influence. Those are the fruits!

If I´m a caring father and my child is mentally unstable, I´m going to be involved and take the lead in ensuring he/she is loved and has the help they need. A responsible father doesn´t walk out on his kid, not have contact with them for a few years and then wonder how and why the child can go on a shooting rampage. The father´s role is essential in the life of his children. That´s why God created marriage and family the way that He did!

"...what kind of man leaves his ticking time bomb of a son with a gun-hoarding crazy mom?"

The kind of man that has been ground up and spit out by the US divorce industry, relieved of his wealth and primary access to his kids [other than the child support.]

Traditional fathers have been reduced to mere money/sperm donors by our RadFem "values."

This article would be best suited to the killings in Chicago...IMHO

In case anyone hadn’t spotted it by now, culture is the vital element in the success or failure of everything: from our sports teams, to our businesses, to our country as a whole. A bad culture is blamed for our failures, but is frequently overlooked as part of success. Yesterday saw it come to the fore again – in the form of Bob Diamond exposing the negatives of banking culture at the Treasury Select Committee, and across the city, David Cameron enthusing us at the launch of another tech start-up initiative ...

Even before his inauguration, Barack Obama was an imaginary man, the creation of his admirers. Think back to the 2008 Time magazine cover depicting him as FDR, the Newsweek cover of the same year on which he was shown casting Lincoln’s shadow, or the $1.4 million Nobel Peace Prize awarded to him “for his extraordinary efforts to strengthen international diplomacy and cooperation between peoples”—this in 2009, less than a year after he had taken office. It was not that Obama had done nothing to deserve these outsized comparisons and honors—it was not just that he had done nothing

Sanofi cuts fewer French jobs than

French drugmaker Sanofi SA scaled back planned layoffs under pressure from the French government, which has been struggling to contain a burgeoning unemployment rate. Sanofi, France's No. 2 company by market value after Total, said it could shed around 900 jobs in France in the next three years, fewer than the 2,500 predicted in July by trade unions, as part of the company's planned reshuffle of its research operations. The French government, which had strongly criticized Sanofi's cutback plans amid rising unemployment (snip), said it had made Sanofi Chief Executive Christopher Viehbacher listen to reason.

A group of whistleblowers, including a number of aviation experts, have come forward in a new documentary to claim that the official explanation for the crash of TWA Flight 800 was wrong and a gas tank explosion did not bring down the flight off the coast of Long Island 17 years ago. However, the six whistleblowers, all part of the original investigation team, stopped short of saying the plane was shot down. Flight 800, a Boeing 747, had just taken off from JFK airport with 230 people aboard on July 17, 1996 enroute to Paris when it exploded

Amid a steady rise of backlash, Edward Snowden, the 29-year-old former National Security Agency contractor who was the source of a spring of leaks about the agency´s surveillance methods, conducted a live chat on The Guardian´s website Monday morning. Judging from some of the pointed questions he´s been asked and the reaction to newly leaked revelations over the past few days, it´s clear that much of the sympathy and support Snowden had built up for his early exposures is eroding. Many Americans supported his decision to leak information about a pair of National Security Agency surveillance programs, which, he detailed, gathered information

An attorney whose firm represents two Benghazi whistleblowers said Gen. Martin Dempsey, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, lied to the Senate when he said there was never a “stand down” order during the Benghazi attack on Sept. 11, 2012. “What was fascinating is that he explained his lie to them,” Joe DiGenova, an attorney representing one of the whistleblowers, told CNSNews.com. “He actually said they were sent to Tripoli. They were needed in Benghazi,” said DiGenova, a former U.S. attorney, now with the Washington firm of DiGenova & Toensing.

As NewsBusters reported last week, former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin called out vulgarian comedian Bill Maher for referring to her Down Syndrome son Trig as "retarded." On ABC´s The View Monday, co-host Barbara Walters astonishingly defended Maher saying, "I don´t think he intended it to be mean-spirited" (video follows with transcript and commentary): WHOOPI GOLDBERG: At a recent standup show in Las Vegas, comedian Bill Maher apparently called Sarah Palin’s five-year-old developmentally-challenged son Trig retarded. And Sarah blasted him on Twitter as a bully. Is that, is it, is he a bully? Is he a bad, what is he?

Jeb Bush says he’s not worried that his work toward comprehensive immigration reform and his ties to the GOP establishment will alienate conservatives and negatively impact a potential 2016 presidential campaign, referring to critics as “the chirpers.” “If I decide to run for office again, it will be based on what I believe, and it will be based on my record,” the former Florida governor said in an interview with the Christian Broadcasting Network’s David Brody. “And that record was one of solving problems completely from a conservative prospective.” Bush (R) pointed to his conservative

Charlie Rose last night asked President Obama his new Syria policy. The president first objected to it being called a new policy. "I´m not sure you can characterize this as a new policy. This is consistent with the policy that I´ve had throughout," he said. Obama then explained the goal is regional stability, and especially in Syria. "Really, what we´re trying to do is take sides against extremists of all sorts and in favor of people who are in favor of moderation, tolerance, representative government, and over the long-term, stability and prosperity for the people of Syria," said Obama.

Marco Rubio. Paul Ryan. The IRS. Illegal immigration. And fraud to the tune of billions.. Now there’s a combustible mix. Let’s start with the IRS, illegal immigration and fraud. We’ll come back in a minute to Senator Rubio and Congressman Ryan. For those who came in late, a year before the IRS scandals burst onto the scene in early May of 2013, an alert investigative reporter for WTHR-Indianapolis (Channel 13), Bob Segall by name, produced a stunning piece of journalism. Segall’s video report is found here and we will quote from his story for the basics.
