| Richard Engel, NBC’s award-winning chief foreign correspondent, was kidnapped in war-torn Syria and held for five days before being released unharmed, the network announced today.The network said early today that Engel and his crew had been kidnapped by "an unknown group," but that are currently out of the country.A Turkish media report yesterday that Engel and Aziz Akyavas, a Turkish journalist working with Engel, had been missing since last week quickly went viral and fueled fears they had been killed in the fighting.

He probably blamed and trashed the U.S. for every conceivable ill toward Syria, just like that other lefty so-called journalist did several years ago during Operation Iraqi Freedom.

Once again the Times gets it wrong. They weren´t released, they escaped during a firefight between the people holding them and the rebels. Yeah, that´s right, they weren´t abducted by the rebels, but by the supporters of the regime. Imagine that...

When you get right down to it, the political targeting and stalling of tax-exempt applications by the IRS was an effort to defund the Tea Party. Rick Santelli, one of the Tea Party founders and my CNBC colleague, was the first to make this point. I’ve taken it a step further: The IRS was taking the Tea Party out of play for the 2012 election, as it looked to avoid a repeat of 2010 and another Tea Party landslide.There are a lot of numbers out there.

WASHINGTON – The Internal Revenue Serviced scandal today spread further within the White House and closer to President Obama. White House spokesman Jay Carney today disclosed that Obama’s chief of staff, Dennis McDonough, and other top White House officials had advance warning that the IRS was targeting conservative groups. But he insisted McDonough and the other White House officials purposely kept Obama out of the loop.McDonough “rightly chose not to take action” to inform Obama, Carney told reporters at the daily White House briefing.

Conservative radio host Mark Levin is very skeptical of the idea that President Obama had absolutely no idea about the IRS tea party targeting before the story broke in the news mere weeks ago. Levin declared adamantly that it is a “flat-out, bald-faced lie” that Obama didn’t know beforehand, citing prior reports by a few conservative news outlets picking up on the news well before the 2012 presidential election.
