In the wake of Friday´s unspeakable tragedy, it is hard to imagine that anyone would be smiling in Newtown, Connecticut. But when the President visited the small New England town where a crazed gunman took 27 innocent lives, he managed to lift the hearts and spirits of some grieving families, who took brief solace in his mere presence. In one emotional meeting, a heart-broken President embraced Robbie Parker, father-to-father, over the senseless death of his six-year-old daughter Emilie. But it was smiles all around when he gathered her younger sisters and some other

Comments:
Does anyone but me find this photo really disturbing? Never let a crisis go to waste. Consoler in chief? The photo of precious Emilie has haunted me all weekend. If you had to pick out what you thought was your perfect little girl she would be that little girl. What a horrible, horrible tragedy.

There is nothing, absolutely nothing, sincere about the pretender in chief.

A good Marxist must be skilled at delivering bad news and counseling the victims.

Bad news and mounting victim lists is all they have.

If I´d lost a loved one under these circumstances, I´d be offended at politicians (of either party) using my loved one´s death to score political points.

Where was Michelle Obama? Oh, that´s right. She´s back home packing for their taxpayer-funded Hawaiian vacation.

So the single victim murdered at random, what, no Presidential visit to his/her family?

BTW, how many young men and boys have been murdered in Chicago so far this year?

Smiling? Smiling!! And the baby isn´t contaminated with anything, Obama. He´s drawing as far away from her as he can and still be holding her. I just don´t have any more words about this man. Someone needs to invent something worse than disgusting.

Emily´s father allowed his family to be exploited.

Oh, let´s all smile for the camera.

Our big sister is not yet buried but we´re have a grand old time.

This family just moved to the town because he was hired as a physician´s assistant.

Wondering why he left his job in Utah?

I agree with poster 3. Looking at these photos, I´m flabbergasted. If I had lost one of my children under any circumstances, the last thing I´d dream of doing, a couple of days later, is mugging for the camera - especially with that worthless character.

Don´t you just love the way Obama has made this all about Obama? With help from our lovely news media, of course. Grieving, devastated parents become stage props in the great Melodrama of Obama.

He sure hasn´t "let this crisis go to waste", has be?

In the meantime, the number of people gunned down on the streets of the Liberal-Democratic Plantation of Chicago this year, as of December 6, 2012, stands at 2,570, of whom 516 have died. When has Obama ever addressed this national tragedy in his home of record?

I refuse to read this. And we turned off his speech yesterday. Had to search to see where the football game had gone.

This story is over except for the hysterical rush to ban weapons. There will be no search for the perp, no trial. It is over.

And those who lost their babies will be left to mourn. If I were one of them - God forbid - I´d prefer to do it quietly and alone with my family.

Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves. Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles? Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit. A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit. Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire. Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them. Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.
Matthew 7:15-23

Freshman Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, suggested to Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., that he no longer represents the majority of Senate Republicans on the issue of increasing the debt ceiling — and he offered a bet to prove it. “There may be more ‘wacko birds’ in the Senate than is suspected,” Cruz said on the Senate floor, recalling the name that McCain once applied Cruz and Sen. Rand Paul, R-Ky., after their talking filibuster against President Obama’s drone policy. To test the hypothesis, Cruz suggested that McCain circulate a letter to the GOP

A bipartisan group of House members introduced legislation on Wednesday to protect journalists from government snooping. “Freedom of the press is a foundational freedom upon which all of our other freedoms and liberties are based and protected,” said Rep. John Conyers (D-Mich.). The Free Flow of Information Act, H.R. 1962, would protect reporters by preventing the government from compelling the disclosure of their source material, except under certain exceptions that must go through judicial review. Those exceptions include cases where it is necessary to prevent an act of terrorism, imminent death, or other harm to national security.

Under President Obama, "justice" is anything but blind. Neither is it deaf. In fact, based on recent revelations, it appears to be watching your every move and listening to your every word. Still, if you happen to be a federal employee, now it´s even listening for your silence. The only thing this Obama White House seems to generate is scandal. Well, here´s yet another to add to the growing list. In addition to the Benghazi cover-up, IRS targeting of political dissenters and the illegal seizure of media phone records, whistleblowers within DOJ have contacted Liberty Counsel

WASHINGTON — The Tea Party wants former Alaska governor Sarah Palin to join their favorites in the Senate, Ted Cruz (R-Texas) and Rand Paul (R-Ky.). They say she can win and they have a poll to prove it. Yikes, is America ready for a Senator Palin? The Tea Party Leadership Fun commissioned a Harper Poll that shows Sarah Palin leads the Republican field in Alaska for the upcoming Senate seat. It is only by 2 points (32 to 30%), but that is without her even saying she is interested. Not that Democrat Sen. Mark Begich is planning

WASHINGTON - Republican Representative Darrell Issa said on Thursday he will call Internal Revenue Service official Lois Lerner back to testify before his committee on the IRS-Tea Party scandal after she asserted her constitutional right not to answer questions. "We are obligated to bring Lerner back because she did not properly take the Fifth (Amendment)," Issa said. "She clearly chose to make her statements and then not open herself up to even any questioning as to the statement she made," said Issa, chairman of the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee.

The dam protecting the IRS scandal began to crack today when Lois Lerner, the IRS official who announced, and apologized for, the improper singling out of conservative-leaning organizations by IRS employees under her command, announced through her criminal defense lawyer that she will not testify as scheduled tomorrow before the House Oversight Committee. Rather, she will assert her Fifth Amendment right against self-incrimination. This marks an enormous milestone in the IRS investigation. It can now be taken as more or less established that crimes were committed by Obama administration employees. Lerner’s lawyer tried to minimize the significance

When you get right down to it, the political targeting and stalling of tax-exempt applications by the IRS was an effort to defund the Tea Party. Rick Santelli, one of the Tea Party founders and my CNBC colleague, was the first to make this point. I’ve taken it a step further: The IRS was taking the Tea Party out of play for the 2012 election, as it looked to avoid a repeat of 2010 and another Tea Party landslide. There are a lot of numbers out there.

The California Republican said Lerner’s Fifth Amendment right to avoid self-incrimination was voided when she gave an opening statement this morning denying any wrongdoing and professing pride in her government service. “When I asked her her questions from the very beginning, I did so so she could assert her rights prior to any statement,” Issa told POLITICO. “She chose not to do so — so she waived.”
