| The tight-knit community of Newtown, Connecticut is numb in the aftermath of the heart-wrenching massacre at the Sandy Hook Elementary school on Friday when a gunman killed 20 young students, all aged six and seven, in addition to six adults. As families mourn the lives that were cut short in this unspeakable horror, an extremist group has announced they plan to congregate at the scene of the tragedy and offer praise to God for ´executing his judgement´--an unthinkable act amidst the sorrow overwhelming the quiet town. A member from the Westboro Baptist Church, an unaffiliated religious group that self-identifies as

These are sadistic, mentally ill people. The law is completely unable to deal with their madness, and they are in fact emboldened by that knowledge. The only thing that will stop them is righteous violence. May it be done.

And ask the Patriot Guard to stand down.
It´s time these *ss-hats see what true rage is, up close and personal.
I´m pretty sure everyone will ´see nothing´ and the police will be way too busy directing traffic to respond any time soon.

People who bastardize the Christian faith (think Crusades) have always been exploited by non-Christians and Leftists to represent the true Christian faith, sollowers of which would never do nor say such things as the Westboro BC is doing and saying. They are hate freaks and there is no way they could possibly know what "God´s judment" is or isn´t.
Atheists believe they can use this hate group to smear real Christians but it won´t work because the real Christians will rise up against them.
As to why an all-powerful, all-good God would permit such evils as this latest one, the Holocaust, the Armenian slaughters and other ethnic cleansing outrages, as well as why He would permit such corruption and evil in American politics today, that is a question only God will answer in His own good timing.
None of us may be around to find out but justice WILL be done and God´s purposes WILL come to pass at some point.
The moment we begin asking God why He allows something to happen, we have admitted we do not know His character and we do not personally know Him.

These lunatics simply do not know the Bible. They carried a sign recently that said, "God hates sinners", do they not know that God´s son, Jesus Christ died for sinners!. God hates the sin, but loves the sinner and offered a way to overcome. I cringe whenever the Westboro church is mentioned, the Baptist Convention should sue to have the name "Baptist" taken away from such a hate group.

The Patriot Guard won´t stop anything, that´a not our charter. We provide a shield of members and flags to protect the families from idiots like Westboro, but we do not interact with them as that would actually be counter-productive.
I never supported the Hell´s Angels in the Altamont concert "security" thing for the Stones, but I think maybe it´s time for the Guard to stand down and let the Angels provide for these families, they have no compunction to avoid "confrontation".

Fred Phelps is an attorney. He provokes in hopes of being assaulted so that he can extort a settlement from his victims and fund his hate filled enterprise. Of course the theoretical limit of that business model is that he must survive the initial confrontation.
So far he has chosen his targets with due consideration to his long-term survival, after all, he cancelled that West Virginia adventure after considering how many abandoned coal mines would be convenient graves. He might want to re-think this little road trip as well.

The price of defending your own is defending theirs.
If we are to be allowed to insult Islam we must, in turn allow Christianity to be maligned.
The market-place of ideas will deal with this.

#4,
When some claim that God could not exist because a loving God would never allow these kinds of horrible things to happen, I would counter that nobody could know anything is horrible or not were it not for a sense of morality. And, if morality is simply the product of human opinion (in a Godless Universe) then who can state with authority that one opinion is more viable than another?
Some cultures say "love they neighbor" and some say "eat thy neigbor". Absent some higher authority who can say one is wrong?
Finally, a loving God might just value free will above totalitarian control over the affairs of men. After all, those who freely choose to love are certainly more genuine than those who have been programmed to do so. But there is a risk when humans are allowed to decide for themselves and at times this is painfully evident.

Their sole job is too come out whenever an event like this happen and misrepresent a faith. They are simply doing what they were paid to do. Look at the clown wearing the Jewish flag. What is that? Thank you #26. While there were some abuses during the Crusades as there are in any and ALL wars, the Christians were justified in pushing back the invading Muslims. Don´t buy into leftist revisionism. Of course, no one is perfect and no war goes on without some atrocities, but that is human nature and not a reflection on the concept of Christianity. I cannot say the same for the invading Muslims, however, since their religion/political model is based on force, violence and murder as is outlined in their doctrines.

Let them show up; time everyone, not just the military, felt the pain so maybe they will be driven into the ground once and for all. CT is a blue state; let them be outrages and they already have a so-called assault weapon ban so guess you´ll check your guns when you cross their border so it will be a criminal magnet.

Is the worm turning against Barack Obama? After four-plus years of being given the benefit of the doubt by the bulk of the US media, the President now suddenly feels more vulnerable. Today both the New York Times and the Washington Post have run prominent and angry editorials and columns slamming the administration for its attempt to criminalise a Fox News reporter James Rosen for working a State Department source to obtain a story. The "Rosen Affair"--as it is now known--is poisoning the well in Washington at an alarming rate for Mr Obama, with an indignant White House press corps

The dam protecting the IRS scandal began to crack today when Lois Lerner, the IRS official who announced, and apologized for, the improper singling out of conservative-leaning organizations by IRS employees under her command, announced through her criminal defense lawyer that she will not testify as scheduled tomorrow before the House Oversight Committee. Rather, she will assert her Fifth Amendment right against self-incrimination. This marks an enormous milestone in the IRS investigation. It can now be taken as more or less established that crimes were committed by Obama administration employees. Lerner’s lawyer tried to minimize the significance

The public got its first look Thursday at Lois Lerner, who has gone from faceless IRS bureaucrat to the face that launched what feels like 1,000 congressional hearings and conspiracy theories. But it was only a brief sighting since she didn´t stay long at a House hearing to further probe her role in how some IRS workers came to target conservative groups seeking tax-exempt status. (Snip)She did make a short statement to declare her innocence, however. Lerner´s motivation was more transparent than much of what the IRS has done in connection with this controversy. She was determined to

When you get right down to it, the political targeting and stalling of tax-exempt applications by the IRS was an effort to defund the Tea Party. Rick Santelli, one of the Tea Party founders and my CNBC colleague, was the first to make this point. I’ve taken it a step further: The IRS was taking the Tea Party out of play for the 2012 election, as it looked to avoid a repeat of 2010 and another Tea Party landslide. There are a lot of numbers out there.

House Oversight and Government Reform Committee Chairman Darrell Issa said embattled IRS official Lois Lerner waived her Fifth Amendment rights and will be hauled back to appear before his panel again. The California Republican said Lerner’s Fifth Amendment right to avoid self-incrimination was voided when she gave an opening statement this morning denying any wrongdoing and professing pride in her government service. “When I asked her her questions from the very beginning, I did so so she could assert her rights prior to any statement,” Issa told POLITICO. “She chose not to do so — so she waived.”
