ACLU Killed Connecticut Forcible
Institutionalization Law That Might

While we’re having that whole conversation about wadding up the Bill of Rights and throwing it into the trash, why don’t we have a brief conversation about what might have actually prevented the shooting by dealing with the mental illness of the shooter. Let’s talk ACLU instead of NRA. Connecticut is one of only SIX states in the U.S. that doesn’t have a type of “assisted outpatient treatment” (AOT) law (sometimes referred to as “involuntary outpatient treatment”). There’s no one standard for these types of laws,

The Arizona killer ought to have been committed. The Aurora killer ought to have been committed. Same with this killer.

There are many instances where deranged individuals are walking the streets just waiting to harm an innocent, unsuspecting person.

Wonder just whose rights are being protected.

No wonder the talking heads are trying to shut talk down if its about anything else than gun control. The left set the wheels in motion 40 years ago for the demise of morals and decency in our society. Nature hates a vacuum. When good goes, evil takes its place. Everytime.

It´s an undeniable fact of life libs and you can´t change it no matter how much you want to deny your culpability.

As I wore before, years ago ,the ACLU and others went before the Surpreme court and got a ruleing that in effect shut down all of the insane asylums because they violated the patients civil rights now many of the homelessare mental patients who woud be better off inside the old hospitals.

Let all those who are surprised that the ACLU was on the wrong side of this issue raise their hands.

Though it is not widely known, our friends, the liberals and libertarians have not only made involuntary hospitalization of the seriously mental ill as difficult as possible - they have done their best to make their treatment when hospitalized as hard as possible. They have devoted themselves to the micro-management and regulation of such matters as forcible medication, physical restraints, and behavioral seclusion for the violently agitated. Very few of such social theoreticians and legal do-gooders know any more about mental illness and its treatment than what they see on TV and in the movies. It is entirely a matter of abstract rights and principles for most of them, typical feel good liberal fantasy ideology. Their seriously uninformed agenda dovetails nicely with the need of the private insurance industry and most politicians to spend as little money as possible on inpatient treatment.

It cannot be stated too often that Ronald Reagan as governor of California had nothing, repeat nothing to do with any of this - not unless implementing the most enlightened and expert opinion of his time is counted against him. What he did in California was done in every state in the union, subsequent to the disastrous Federal Community Mental Health Centers Act of 1963, which set the stage for the elimination of adequate institutional care for the chronically mentally ill. It seemed like a good idea at the time. It could have worked as planned, too - had the really mentally ill people been just a tad more rational and therefore cooperative with their recommended community outpatient treatment.

The phonies at the ACLU are just a small part of the hypocrites tha allow MENTAL problems to roam around freely...we have THREE STATES that allow their citizens to freely and LEGALY use halucinogens knowing that it alters thinking, reasoning, and actions...but this is OK. How will the anti gun president, the media and the numerous congresspeople handle the killings by people roaming around getting high...will they be held accountable because the weed was legal??? I bet their victims will remain dead after all is said and done...

In the fall of 2010, the nasty midterms drawing to a close, Michelle Obama was contemplating her next move. Two years into her tenure as first lady, the breathless fixation on guest lists and china selections was subsiding into routine, and she wanted a plan for the rest of her husband’s time in office. Of course, her calendar would never lack for National Hostess duties—the obligatory social functions outlined in binders left by Laura Bush’s team. She had already launched Let’s Move!, the childhood obesity initiative, and Joining Forces, a program to help military families and veterans, was also in

ALBANY — New York, whose status as the most populous state has long been ceded, will soon fall behind Florida into fourth place, a long-anticipated drop that is rife with symbolism and that could carry potentially serious economic consequences in coming years. When the Census Bureau releases its latest population estimates on Monday, demographers expect that Florida and New York will be narrowly separated — perhaps by as little as a few thousand people — and that if Florida does not pass New York this time, it almost certainly will do so in 2014. The census figures underscore immigration trends, as foreign-born migrants continue to

The two tabloid editors at the centre of the phone hacking trial had a secret six-year affair at the end of which Rebekah Brooks wrote to Andy Coulson: “I love you ... You are my very best friend ... I tell you everything,” the Old Bailey heard. It is alleged that Mrs Brooks and Mr Coulson oversaw phone hacking and corruption at two of the country’s biggest newspapers. Details of the clandestine relationship were made public during the second day of their trial, where they are accused of overseeing a decade of illegal activity at The Sun and The News

The Oscar-winning film director Charles Ferguson has cancelled his CNN documentary on Hillary Clinton after what he described as a private campaign against the film by prominent Democrats. Ferguson said he had decided to pull the plug after being met with a wall of silence from more than a hundred people who refused to be interviewed for the documentary. He claimed that aides to the former secretary of state put pressure on CNN behind the scenes, and made clear that Clinton would only co-operate "over my dead body". He also blamed a public campaign by Republicans, who claimed the film would be

When Ted Sarandos put out the word that Netflix would begin producing original shows, he was swamped with story pitches that everyone else in Hollywood clearly had taken a pass on — including some scripts marked with coffee stains, smudged fingerprints and other telltale signs of rejection. That all changed in 2011 after Netflix bought the political thriller "House of Cards" from "The Social Network" and "Fight Club" director David Fincher.

It’s a Duck Nation, and we’re all just living in it. Last week, A&E Network’s reality show “Duck Dynasty” catapulted to become the biggest unscripted show in cable history with its fourth season premiere. With nearly 11.8 million viewers, the show about a Louisiana family that has made millions from its duck call fabrication business is on the brink of toppling “The Walking Dead.” If it does, it will become cable´s biggest show. The A&E Network, as Duck Commander patriarch Phil Robertson would say, is “Happy, happy, happy.” The show premiered in March 2012 and finished its first cycle with an average

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. -- Democrat Anthony Weiner said that the new sexting firestorm that set his City Hall campaign reeling last week will in the end make him a stronger mayor and better able to deliver for Staten Island and the rest of the city. "I´m going to be a successful mayor because of it, because it´s going to give me a level of independence," he told the Advance in an exclusive interview. "I´m not constructing a campaign around the approval of my peers. I´m constructing a campaign around the aspirations of my neighbors."

The Obama administration is poised to entertain a flood of new clemency applications from thousands of federal prisoners who were given harsh sentences under mandatory-minimum laws following drug convictions, Attorney General Eric Holder said Monday. Holder said in a short videotaped statement that he wants to shrink the federal prison population by a modest amount while ensuring ´that those who have paid their debts have a chance to become productive citizens.´ At the center of the move is a set of old sentencing rules that punished crack-cocaine offenders with more time behind bars than users or traffickers of powder cocaine.

Former Sen. Bob Dole (R-Kan.) said a number of junior GOP senators considering a presidential run in 2016 do not yet have the experience — specifically naming Rand Paul (Ky.), Marco Rubio (Fla.) and Ted Cruz (Texas). The former 1996 GOP presidential candidate sounded particularly skeptical of Cruz in an interview this week with The Wichita Eagle. "A number of the younger members, first-termers like Rand Paul, Rubio and that extreme-right-wing guy, Ted Cruz — all running for president now. I don´t think they´ve got enough experience yet," Dole said. The 90-year-old former senator said, however, his main concern about 2016 is living

The Citizens Commission on Benghazi, a self-selected group of former top military officers, CIA insiders and think-tankers, declared Tuesday in Washington that a seven-month review of the deadly 2012 terrorist attack has determined that it could have been prevented – if the U.S. hadn´t been helping to arm al-Qaeda militias throughout Libya a year earlier. ´The United States switched sides in the war on terror with what we did in Libya, knowingly facilitating the provision of weapons to known al-Qaeda militias and figures,´ Clare Lopez, a member of the commission and a former CIA officer, told MailOnline. If Jeb reaches for the nomination, there will be a titanic battle between the party establishment and the Tea Party. Steve Schmidt, McCain’s strategist in 2008, insists that in the end Republicans usually settle on the most electable candidate. To get by, this Bush may be forced to trim his positions, although the cautionary tale of Romney suggests that he would have to tack artfully and carefully for the sake of the general election. Certainly he will have the resources to outlast, discredit, and disqualify his rivals.

Washington - Michelle Obama said "splurging is the key to life" if you regularly eat right and stay active. Her biggest guilty pleasure: French fries. "How would you appreciate vegetables if you never had chocolate?" she asked. "You couldn´t live without a little chocolate, a little French fries." The first lady took questions from children reporters Monday after appearing at the White House Easter Egg Roll. She told the children that if they eat right the majority of the time, then a splurge or snack is not going to hurt them. "I still splurge when I can, but that's why I try to exercise almost every day," she said.

There’s a pattern of falsifying statistics throughout the entire Census Bureau. And anyone who attempts to blow the whistle on the fraud is either retaliated against or ignored, according to two new sources who have experienced the process firsthand. As I’ve been writing for more than six months, the Census Bureau office in Philadelphia uncovered a case of fraud in 2010, did nothing about it and allowed the practice to continue. In that instance, a data collector named Julius Buckmon was faking reports that went into the nation’s all-important jobless tally and consumer-inflation survey. Because the Census Bureau’s surveys are scientific — meaning

Public Trust: Sixty-one percent polled say President Obama lies "some of the time" or "most of the time" on matters of national importance. Americans have to ask: Why do we let him get away with it? It´s no surprise that a Fox News poll of 1,012 registered voters last week found immense distrust of a president whose main domestic initiative was based on a lie. The shock is that the same poll found his disapproval level down to its lowest since last fall. Asked, "How often do you think Barack Obama lies to the country on important matters?" 37% replied "most of
