Boo Hoo Hoo...this man´s wait is comparable to the average wait in any country with nationalized medical care, it will of necessity grow to a longer wait as 0bamaCare has absolutely no provisions to increase the number of doctors.

Clinics already struggle to get private specialists to see Medicaid patients because of the low payments to doctors. This also will get worse when 0bamaCare reduces (again) the rates of doctor reimbursements.

In a year, the headline will be "Healthcare crisis: not enough primary care physicians for anyone." For several decades, the vast majority of medical school graduates have chosen a specialty to earn more (and be able to pay off the loans), the "general practitioners" and "internists" have not been keeping up with population growth...what did they think would happen when they add 30 million newly "insured" patients to the mix?

Perhaps we can kill two birds with one stone. Train the TSA groping specialists to perform prostate exams and mammograms. They are already familiar with most of it so cross training should be easy. It might slow the lines a bit at the boarding gate and require a few more latex gloves but think how safe we would all feel.

Something is definitely wrong with the system. Doctors have priced themselves out of the market. What does it cost to gat a dental crown these days? $600 - $800 - $1000? About an hour´s work for a dentist. How can the average worker afford to have their teeth worked on these days without having to find some kind of free clinic?

What they will do, if they can pass comprehensive immigration reform is open the borders to a huge number of foreign doctors and nurses from countries like India, Pakistan, the Philippines, China and third world countries.

Those foreign medical people, even with the low compensation paid to them through Medicaid will make a lot more then they could earn in their home countries. Unfortunately in a lot of cases, their medical education and skill sets will not be equal to US educated and trained medical people.

What the country will end up with is two different medical delivery systems, one private, staffed by first class doctors and nurses for the rich, the famous and the politicians; and a public government run socialist health care system, where all those foreign medical people will work, to provide health care for everybody else.

What the Obama crew is doing is destroying the health care insurance of about 85% of the country, in order to provide government provided medical services to the 15% who for one reason or another do not have health care insurance.

R U kidding me? He´s 49 & wants his cataracts fixed now! I´m on Medicare, well over 65 & keep being told to wait.

Shortage of specialists? Yeah... because ObieCare has cut reimbursement so low no docs want to participate !I lost my rheumatologist last month... UHC gave me 3 rplcmt docs in Puerto Rico to pick from!

This no crisis. It is just the beginning. I´m surprised they are complaining already, before the problem even gets going. What word will they have to call it when it gets ten times worse?

Maybe go back to Jamaica and have them pay for it? And is the uninsured housekeeper an illegal alien? So many unanswered questions.

We need to go back to the old system of immigration, in which immigrants were not allowed to be a burdern on this country. Harsh, perhaps, but our taxpayers should not be paying for the healthcare of immigrants.

Most of the talented older doctors are running for the exits. Good Luck everyone in finding first-rate healthcare.

#6, the hospital-connected eye institute I saw for three years kept telling me my cataracts weren´t "ripe" too. Fearing Obamacare, last January I sought out an opthalmologist in a surgical group unconnected to a hospital and with its own facilty. (I´m on Medicare too.) I quietly, diplomatically, carefully told the new doc about my fears and he agreed that I needed to get my cataracts done immediately. Could I be ready the next week? Could I!

Because I had been told the cataracts weren´t ripe yet, I had no idea the difference would be so great. From a 2.5 "cheater glasses" level, and looking for 3.0 and above, I went to a 1.0/1.5 depending on the quality. I can now read a lot more without reaching for magnification help.
