| Reports have emerged that Adam Lanza had visited Sandy Hook Elementary the day before Friday´s massacre during which he was involved in an altercation with four members of staff at the school - three of whom are now dead. The fourth teacher - and only survivor of the altercation - wasn´t at school yesterday and is currently being interviewed by investigators. It hasn´t been revealed what the argument was over or if it was reported to authorities. The staff member’s testimony might be an ´important piece of information´ for discerning motive in this case, reports NBC. Scroll down for video

If they got into an altercation with Lanza last Thursday, you have to wonder why the teachers did not call the police. If they did, the ensuing police intervention might have saved a lot of lives. It is easy to Monday morning quarterback!

"Another victim has been named as six-year-old Jesse Lewis. His father Neil Heslin told the New York Post that he dropped his son off at school that morning and planned to return in the afternoon to join parents in the holiday tradition of making gingerbread houses."
This precious little boy looked so happy in the photo. I just saw clips of his grieving father from yesterday on FOX News. My heart is terribly heavy today.
A press conference just took place. The coroner just said that most of the victims were shot twice.

All schools are surrounded with windows. Even if they had had a reinforced door that he could not have broken down all you have to do is shoot out a window. Or even stand outside the classroom and shoot through the windows. If a school is to be reinforced so no one could ever possibly breech it´s security it would have to be run like a prison. I have to assume that all people who do something this hideous has some type of mental condition. I feel that Chicago thugs shooting each other on street corners is much different than this kind of murder. We threw open the doors of mental institutions in the 60´s and 70´s and pretty much have left these people to fend for themselves. While medication has allowed millions to lead normal productive lives it is not the answer for all. Some people need to be in locked facilities to protect themselves and others. I don´t know who draws up the guidelines or how they are enforced or who pays for them but something needs to be done.

This is crazier by the minute. They´re saying he shot out a window to get in but the day before he casually walks in and argues with 4 people and they don´t call the cops.So that means the kid got buzzed through at the front door. Why wouldn´t the accosted people tell the person at the front desk not to allow him in anymore?
There´s someting coming unglued in white America and i think it´s the poison of liberalism creeping in.We keep hearing about young suburban kids getting easy access to black tar heroin and of course pot is readily available now after the big left declared it a safe drug.
Then you have to look at the degrading career opportunities in Obama´s anti capitalism movement and the war on job creators.Kids are becoming disillusioned about their future so what the hell,go shoot up a theater or school.

What is a mystery to me is why that mother had assault weapons in the house, in the first place, and worse, not under lock and key.. A hand gun for protection I can see, but not the arsenal she had. And knowing her son had serious issues and had been in trouble many times, it seems to me she is culpable as well, and she sure paid the ultimate price for her stupidity/malfeasance.

This woman had a right to own guns, but she had extremely poor judgment to allow her mentally-challenged son to have access to them. As someone pointed out here yesterday, responsible gun owners don´t allow two-year-olds to play with them and they don´t put them in the hands of Alzheimers patients. It´s extremely irresponsible to allow mentally ill/mentally disabled people to get them as well.

It´s possible he held a knife to her throat, forced her to open the gun case, and then shot her. Let´s wait and see what the facts are.
I´m suspicious marijuana played a factor - it certainly has in the last five or six spray shootings. I will wait for the reports, of course. But I´d be willing to put money on it that it did.

Once upon a time in America, the criminally leaning mentally ill could be institutionalized. It was in their best interest and society at large. I know everyone has rights, but there are some people that just can´t function. They need 24/7 supervision. When the time comes and they prove a "danger to themselves or others", it usually is too late. And try to understand the perverse world mentally ill people live in. Reality is unknown to them. They have mental pain and anguish we can´t begin to empathize with.

Absolutely heartbreaking, tears bring no relief from this. Children so young they still had baby teeth slaughtered in a mutilating way by a maniac whose incompetent parents couldn´t/wouldn´t control. I cannot get my mind around this.
Yesterday a blonde girl of about 6 ran in front of my cart at the supermarket; tears just started steaming down my face. Cannot imagine how the families of these kids will get through this.

Washington - Veteran journalist Bob Woodward accused Obama administration officials of invoking the worst instincts of former President Richard Nixon in their response to last year’s deadly attack on two U.S. compounds in Benghazi, Libya. “This is not Watergate, but there are some people in the administration who have acted as if they want to be Nixonian, and that’s a very big problem,” he said on NBC’s “Meet the Press.” The longtime Washington Post journalist, whose reporting on the Watergate burglary led to the resignation of Mr. Nixon in 1974, questioned the Obama

White House Senior Adviser Dan Pfeiffer made the Sunday show rounds this week, including a stop at Fox News Sunday, where Chris Wallace pressed him on the administration’s handling of and response to the Benghazi attack. Wallace persisted on the topic of the emails about the talking points in particular — but the two couldn’t manage to agree. Wallace began by questioning Pfeiffer about what President Obama did the night of the attack and whether he was in the situation room — but Pfeiffer said Obama was kept updated, and didn’t provide specifics, contending that which room

Pfieffer did admit, however, the the IRS´ conduct was wrong and should be fixed. "It´s inexcusable conduct that needs to be fixed," Pfeiffer said. "It was an incredible breach of the public´s trust, and we have to repair that breach; no question about that." But "this is a Republican

Even as his administration has faced intense scrutiny over a trio of controversies, President Obama’s approval rating hasn’t suffered, according to a new CNN/ORC International poll released Sunday. Fifty-three percent of Americans said they approve of the job the president is doing, while 45 percent said they disapprove. That’s virtually unchanged from an early April survey in which Obama’s approval/disapproval split was 51 percent to 47 percent. The poll is one of the earliest indicators of how Obama’s image has been affected during one of the worst weeks of his presidency.

DAMASCUS, Va - At least 50 people were injured Saturday after a car struck a crowd of hikers in the Appalachian Trail Days parade in Damascus. A Virginia State Police reconstruction team has closed off the bridge where the incident happened and is investigating it as a crime scene. According to authorities, a green Cadillac was traveling on Route 91 in Damascus around 2:15 p.m. when his vehicle cut through a nearby car wash located off Third Street, where the parade was taking place. President Obama spoke of the importance of fathers to their sons on Friday after a young man he met at a community center in Baltimore mentioned wanting to provide for his sons. “You know, one of the biggest challenges – I grew up without a father,” Obama said at the Center for Urban Families, which serves fathers and their families. A man named Marcus Dixon had just told him about the center´s key role in helping him learn to provide for his family after being released from jail. WASHINGTON There´s an irony in the Internal Revenue Service´s crackdown on conservative groups. The nation´s tax agency has admitted to inappropriately scrutinizing smaller tea party organizations that applied for tax-exempt status. But the IRS largely maintained a hands-off policy with the much larger, big-budget organizations on the left and right that were most influential in the 2012 elections and are organized under a section of the tax code that allows them to hide their donors. "The IRS goes AWOL when wealthy and powerful forces want to break the law in order to hide their

Obama administration officials who were in key positions on Sept. 11, 2012, acknowledge that a range of mistakes were made the night of the attacks on the U.S. missions in Benghazi, and in messaging to Congress and the public in the aftermath. The officials spoke to CBS News in a series of interviews and communications under the condition of anonymity so that they could be more frank in their assessments. They do not all agree on the list of mistakes and it's important to note that they universally claim that any errors or missteps did not cost lives and reflect "incompetence rather than malice or cover up.

WASHINGTON - There were new questions Saturday night concerning if anyone in the White House was aware of the IRS´ targeting of conservative groups. Inspector General Russell George said he informed a deputy at the Treasury Department in June of 2012 about the probe into the IRS. The Treasury Department confirmed the timeline but said they did not know the details of the investigation until last week.(Snip)Marcus Owens ran the tax-exempt division at the IRS for 10 years. What did President Obama do on the evening of 9/11/12 when our men were under attack in Benghazi? The invaluable Andrew McCarthy reminds us that Obama and Secretary Clinton had a 10:00 p.m. phone call of which many (including, I think, Chris Wallace) have lost sight. This morning when Wallace asked Obama aide Dan Pfeiffer what Obama was up to that evening, Pfeiffer declared the line of inquiry “offensive.” Translation: Obama and his minions would prefer to “move on” and are warning the likes of FNC off:(Snip for video)The Weekly Standard’s Daniel Halper has posted the rush transcript

In the wake of one of the worst abuses of government power in recent history, many are rushing to frame the Internal Revenue Service scandal as simply an attack on conservative activists. That view risks creating a partisan political football and misses a fundamentally scarier abuse that exceeds the scandals of Watergate or any other prior government abuse. The IRS has admitted that since May 2010 it targeted grassroots-conservative organizations that had applied for tax-exempt status, unfairly subjecting them to rigorous scrutiny due to their political leanings. Such groups were told they were required to comply with IRS requests,

Treasury Secretary Jack Lew on Friday urged congressional leaders to raise the debt limit and insisted that the White House is not going to negotiate over the increase because lawmakers have "no choice." "We will not negotiate over the debt limit," Lew wrote. "The creditworthiness of the United States is non-negotiable. The question of whether the country must pay obligations it has already incurred is not open to debate." Lew said that while President Obama is willing to discuss plans to reduce the nation´s deficit with Congress, those talks must be kept separate from any effort to raise the nation´s debt cap.

Washington – Sen. Claire McCaskill, D-MO, issued a video statement Friday in response to reports that the Internal Revenue Service unfairly targeted conservative nonprofit groups. The Internal Revenue Service´s watchdog told top Treasury officials around June 2012 he was investigating allegations the tax agency had targeted conservative groups, for the first time indicating that Obama administration officials were aware of the explosive matter in the midst of the president´s re-election campaign. The disclosure to the Treasury general counsel and the deputy secretary was a cursory one, according to J. Russell George, the Treasury inspector general for tax administration. He said he didn´t reveal conclusions of the probe, which was in its early stages, and his disclosure came as part
