Former Nebraska Senator Chuck Hagel is apparently the prospective Obama nominee to replace Leon Panetta as the Secretary of Defense. Earlier this week my daughter Eliana reported how he has been lobbying for a senior position in the administration. With Chuck Hagel at Defense and John Kerry at State, we would have a one-two punch aimed squarely at our own head.

Fairly unusual article, it provides data to allow you to draw your own conclusion.

My recollection of Hagel is that he was an angst-filled, sort of anti-american, conflicted over the vietnam war and his service there.
President Zero is putting together quite a team, hey?

All indications here are that Chuck likes the burka. He looks like Morsi, grizzled and gruff. Being Obama´s pick also confirms that he would be the worst choice for the country. Defense or Dhimmitude department? Muslims are coming out of fhe closet.

Hagel would fit perfectly with Kerry and Obama. They are all terribly unfunny jokes.

NY Times explains why Obama wants Hagel - "Mr. Hagel voted for the resolution that authorized Mr. Bush to take military action in Iraq, but he soured on the war. In a Senate hearing in 2007, he denounced Mr. Bush’s plan to send more troops to Baghdad as “the most dangerous foreign policy blunder in this country since Vietnam.’´ He also co-sponsored a resolution with two Democratic senators, Carl Levin of Michigan and Joseph R. Biden Jr. of Delaware, that declared the increase to be not in the national interest"

Hagel can be Flip with Kerry as Flop to prove that two wrongs rarely get it right.

Hagel will gut DoD while Kerry guts our alliances.

I´m looking for a return of Van Jones, either on the Supreme Court or Chairman of the Joint Chiefs.

Sure, put in Hagel.

Brings the military coup much closer.

Well, more than half the voters in this country knew full well what kind of a President they reelected! We should no be all surprised when he installs like-minded, anti-American MarxistCommunists in these critical positions. I fear this country is going to reap the whirlwind over this foolish election!

A wise dictator neglects the enthusiastic good will of the military at his own considerable peril.

I´d rather it not come to that.

OK...I´d rather it had not come to this.

Just found this at Breitbart´s site:

"Hagel sits on the board of a bank that is under investigation for allegedly violating United States sanctions on Iran."

..Germany´s Deutsche Bank, is being investigated for alleged violations "of a trade embargo on Iran´s oil and energy sector."

Government by traitors. It´s anybody´s guess whether the existing pirate ship that is the obama administration will sink before the country falls apart.

Hagel is quite the favorite of CAIR.

Guess we will have to allow more young men to die in a "sons of Hagar" war or go into depression for our Republic to wake up. If we do not come back to our beginnings we will be toast on the pages of history. Sorry to be so pessimistic but there are not enough conservative Senators to vote against these two traitors! Does this mean that there is some truth to the tin foil hat rumors that Obama and his handlers hanker for WWIII? Makes me shudder.

I think Hagel was always a fake republican in order to get elected in his state. His true colors came out when he attacked Bush. Both these clowns are anti-war which the left has to love.

In addition to all Hagel´s other accomplishments and attributes, he is dumb as a stump.

Chuck Hagel is a RINO who would attempt to give President Obama the political cover that he needs to transform the military into a very limited fighting force in the future.

Hagel has been lobbying for a job with the Obama Administration since that crew was created.

Recently when liberal Democrat Bob Kerrey, a New York city resident for more then the last decade went back to Nebraska, at the behest of Harry Reid, in an attempt to win and save an open US Senate seat for the liberal Democrats, Hagel made a number of television commercials claiming to be a lifelong Republican who was endorsing Kerrey over the Republican candidate Deb Fischer.

The people of Nebraska realized that if Kerrey were elected, that he would immediately return to live in New York city, essentially giving the State of New York three liberal Democrat Senators, with Nebraska, for all intents and purposes, being left with only one US Senate seat.

Kerrey lost the election by over 15 points to Fischer who has always lived in Nebraska. Apparently Kerrey has already returned to New York city.

The Real Danger From the Fiscal Cliff

Americans are told that they face a fiscal cliff if automatic spending cuts and tax increases occur at the end of the year.I´m not in favor of jumping off a cliff, but the logic of the proprosed threat needs to be questioned. The fiscal cliff narrative assumes that spending cuts are bad for the ecconomy. It follows then, that more spending (and therefore more government debt) are good for the economy.

The public got its first look Thursday at Lois Lerner, who has gone from faceless IRS bureaucrat to the face that launched what feels like 1,000 congressional hearings and conspiracy theories. But it was only a brief sighting since she didn´t stay long at a House hearing to further probe her role in how some IRS workers came to target conservative groups seeking tax-exempt status. (Snip)She did make a short statement to declare her innocence, however. Lerner´s motivation was more transparent than much of what the IRS has done in connection with this controversy. She was determined to

When you get right down to it, the political targeting and stalling of tax-exempt applications by the IRS was an effort to defund the Tea Party. Rick Santelli, one of the Tea Party founders and my CNBC colleague, was the first to make this point. I’ve taken it a step further: The IRS was taking the Tea Party out of play for the 2012 election, as it looked to avoid a repeat of 2010 and another Tea Party landslide. There are a lot of numbers out there.

Longoria, 38, took home a real degree (not an honorary one) in Chicano studies from Cal State Northridge, where she physically attended classes for three years, according to TMZ. "Big day today!!! Very excited to graduate for my master´s degree in Chicano studies! You´re never too old or too busy to continue your education!" the actress wrote on her Who Say site Wednesday, sharing loads of pics of her big day, posing with her family, cohorts and diploma.

What´s so interesting about 60 tea partiers protesting the IRS in San Jose, California on Tuesday, May 21st? The fact that this bit of information was conveyed to the protesters by a Department of Homeland Security officer who was also in attendance. What was a DHS agent doing at the San Jose Tea Party protest? (snip) they weren´t just spying on us in San Jose and monitoring us in San Francisco, they were watching us throughout the entire state

President Obama on Thursday nominated Victoria Nuland, a State Department official involved in the editing of the administration´s talking points on Benghazi, to be the next assistant secretary of state for European and Eurasian affairs. Nuland, a career foreign service officer who was until recently State´s top spokesperson, had long been expected to be nominated the post to replace Philip Gordon, who Obama picked to serve as Middle East coordinator for the National Security Council. Nuland´s nomination -- which requires Senate confirmation -- could come under scrutiny from Republicans who see her as playing a central role in shaping

On “Fox News Sunday” last weekend, White House aide Dan Pfeiffer was asked about President Barack Obama’s whereabouts the night of the Sept. 11 attack in Benghazi. This was the night when we lost our first ambassador in 30 years, and when three other Americans were killed in an attack that lasted all night long at multiple locations within the eastern Libyan city. Since the president is commander in chief, one would think where he was and what he did during such an event would be of obvious public concern.

House Oversight and Government Reform Committee Chairman Darrell Issa said embattled IRS official Lois Lerner waived her Fifth Amendment rights and will be hauled back to appear before his panel again. The California Republican said Lerner’s Fifth Amendment right to avoid self-incrimination was voided when she gave an opening statement this morning denying any wrongdoing and professing pride in her government service. “When I asked her her questions from the very beginning, I did so so she could assert her rights prior to any statement,” Issa told POLITICO. “She chose not to do so — so she waived.”
