| Eighty nine beautiful women from all over the world have gathered at the Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino in Las Vegas to battle it out for the much coveted title of Miss Universe 2012. This preliminary stage helps to determine the 16 semi-finalists that will be announced on pageant night on December 19 together with results of the ongoing online voting on the Miss Universe website. ´Rounds´ at this stage in the competition included posing in bikinis and evening gowns, but unfortunately for Miss Guyana she became a fashion victim of her floor-sweeping evening dress

This is a very tacky competition with no dignity to it at all. It´s amazing that, in this day and age, women will accept cash to demean themselves in front of men and women.
I´m not saying that wearing a bikini is demeaning. I´m saying it´s demeaning if it´s on a stage for the purpose of ranking. It´s not demeaning if it´s worn at the beach.

Fake boobs? I was fixated on the horizontal tan lines on the legs of the contestants. What´s up with those. One woman had at least three of them ON BOTH LEGS. Ms. Denmark was as pale as a ghost. Bet she seldom sees the sun.

Too bad.
That dress is a menace with too much material close to the floor. But she or her advisers picked it.
The dress is asymmetrical and complex. It distracts your gaze from the wearer.
Notice her head in those four photos.
Even on the floor, on her butt, her head stayed at the same angle. As she was trained.
#4 I think the horizontal bands must be lights unevenly reflected from the floor; it is not a completely flat floor and the lighting is not the same for all.

The day I most proud of my daughter was the day she was invited --no contest- to represent our state for Miss USA -- because she turned the committee down.
Reason 1 she was entering college that that fall and it would be a waste of time.
She has gone on to double science majors B.S Masters and PHD in her field.

Ever since he announced he was stepping down as Tonight Show host Jay Leno has seemingly been harder on Barack Obama. Well on Monday´s Tonight Show with Jay Leno that trend continued as Leno featured a clip of schoolchildren peppering the President with the tough questions that the press should be hammering him with on a daily basis. The Senate Judiciary Committee’s passage of a sweeping immigration bill was expected. But the explosion of chants of “Yes we can! Yes we can!” and “Leahy! Leahy!” came as a surprise. The “Gang of Eight” bill passed by a wide 13-5 margin early Tuesday evening. Amid the cheering, Democratic committee chairman Sen. For a "failed scandal," Fast and Furious sure brought out the heavy hitters at the Department of Justice to deal with a whistleblower. The department´s inspector general has released a report accusing one US attorney, Dennis Burke, of leaking a document that smeared John Dodson, a key witness in the Fast and Furious scandal, and accusing other officials in the department of coming up with a strategy to discredit him. Breitbart: The DOJ IG said it found "Burke´s conduct in disclosing the Dodson memorandum to be inappropriate for a Department employee and wholly unbefitting a U.S. Attorney."

WASHINGTON – The Internal Revenue Serviced scandal today spread further within the White House and closer to President Obama. White House spokesman Jay Carney today disclosed that Obama’s chief of staff, Dennis McDonough, and other top White House officials had advance warning that the IRS was targeting conservative groups. But he insisted McDonough and the other White House officials purposely kept Obama out of the loop.McDonough “rightly chose not to take action” to inform Obama, Carney told reporters at the daily White House briefing.

The wheels came off the Obama administration yesterday. We learned of a startling assault on freedom of the press by the Department of Justice, following the revelation last week of the unprecedented information-gathering foray by that department against The Associated Press. Then, a few minutes later, the Justice Department’s inspector general released a report declaring that the US attorney in Arizona used the leak of a confidential memo to try to discredit a whistleblower in the notorious “gun-walking” scandal known as Fast and Furious (which got two federal agents killed). The leak was called “egregious.”

WASHINGTON – A top IRS official in the division that reviews nonprofit groups will invoke the Fifth Amendment and refuse to answer questions before a House committee investigating the agency’s improper screening of conservative nonprofit groups. Lois Lerner, the head of the exempt organizations division of the IRS, won’t answer questions about what she knew about the improper screening – or why she didn’t reveal it to Congress, according to a letter from her defense lawyer, William W. Taylor 3rd. Lerner was scheduled to appear before the House Oversight committee Wednesday.

Stuart Varney said this morning on "Varney & Co." that one of his producers was given a questionnaire with some surprisingly intrusive questions on it when he switched doctors. One of the questions was whether he/she was concerned about unsecured weapons in the home. Another asked whether he/she was "in a relationship in which you have been physically hurt or are you afraid of your partner?"
