| Less than 1 percent of twins share an amniotic sac in their mother’s womb. The situation is rare and risky and some 20 percent of what are called monoamniotic twins die, often because the umbilical cord becomes entangled, cutting off the blood and food supply. But not Kate and Annie Carlson who were born at Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital on November 7 at only 30 weeks old. These miracle twins defied the odds even though their cords were tied in a dangerous knot. A delivery team led by Dr. Susan Crowe performed a successful cesarean section

I had a very dear friend who had twins late in life. She said the babies didn´t quiet down and want to sleep after they were born until she wrapped them in the same blanket and put then in the crib together. This beautiful picture of the twins snuggled up to each other reminded me of my friend´s story about her babies. Thanks, Ramona, for posting

So the babies survived after 30 weeks of pregnancy but the left continues to say you aren´t human until you´re a full term baby.
According to mr and mrs liberal, personhood starts when a baby can survive on it´s own. Really? can a baby go to the grocery store?
Thank God,these little twins were bought into the world with open arms.

A town in western Sweden has agreed to pay damages to a man who was told he wouldn´t be hired if he refused to shake a woman´s hand for religious reasons. The decision by officials in Trollhättan to pay the man 30,000 kronor ($4,500) means the municipality won´t have to face a review of the case by Sweden´s Equality Ombudsman (Diskriminerings ombudsmannen). The incident stemmed from an office visit by a man who had been offered an internship with the integration division at Trollhättan municipality.

Among the thousands of people who will celebrate the Irish and Ireland this weekend, you´ll find a small group whose accents give them away as natives of the Emerald Isle. They might stand out as the only people not draped in bright green from head to toe. Although members of the most recent wave of immigrant Irish are happy and proud to find Western New Yorkers exuberantly celebrating their culture and heritage, they also are a bit perplexed by some of our traditions.

Within moments of the governor signing a bill Tuesday that drastically reduces her authority, State Superintendent of Public Instruction Cindy Hill and two others filed a lawsuit to stop the action. Gov. Matt Mead signed Senate File 104, a bill that strips most of the duties of the state superintendent of public instruction. (snip). Also on Tuesday, Hill and Kerry and Clara Powers of Wheatland filed a lawsuit in Laramie County District Court that challenges the constitutionality of the bill.

It was early November when Martha Keochareon called the nursing school at Holyoke Community College, her alma mater. She had a proposal, which she laid out in a voice mail message. “I have cancer,” she said after introducing herself, “and I’m wondering if you’ll need somebody to do a case study on, a hospice patient.” (snip) “Maybe you’ll have some ambitious student that wants to do a project,” Ms. Keochareon (pronounced CATCH-uron) said after leaving her phone number. “Thank you. Bye.”

San Antonio, Texas - The top U.S. military appellate court on Monday ruled that the judge presiding over the case of an Army major charged with a 2009 massacre at Fort Hood, Texas is not impartial and ordered him removed. The court also set aside the order by the judge, Colonel Gregory Gross, that accused gunman Major Nidal Hasan be forcibly shaved. The action by the United States Court of Appeals for the Armed Forces further delays the trial of Hasan, 42, who is charged with 13 counts of premeditated murder after he allegedly opened fire on soldiers and support personnel in a room

Just past the gift shop and through doors that swing open like a saloon entrance, there is a work- room strewn with tools. A small crew of men in their 70s and 80s gathers there to joke, build and paint the things that are slowly bringing Allan Herschell’s old carousel factory back to life as a museum. “This was brand-new when I started,” said Mel Brundage, 76, looking down at his apron, gray with paint splatters. “I look like Leonardo da Vinci.” The splatters are from his 14 years as a volunteer . . .

WASHINGTON – The Internal Revenue Serviced scandal today spread further within the White House and closer to President Obama. White House spokesman Jay Carney today disclosed that Obama’s chief of staff, Dennis McDonough, and other top White House officials had advance warning that the IRS was targeting conservative groups. But he insisted McDonough and the other White House officials purposely kept Obama out of the loop.McDonough “rightly chose not to take action” to inform Obama, Carney told reporters at the daily White House briefing.

The Washington Post on Monday reported that Obama’s Department of Justice was investigating journalists before they started wiretapping the Associated Press – for one, Fox News correspondent James Rosen in 2010. Their headline wasn´t "Obama Team Also Spied on Fox News." Fox wasn´t in the headline, on A-1 or on A-12, where the story continued. Newly obtained court documents “reveal how deeply investigators explored the private communications of a working journalist — and raise the question of how often journalists have been investigated as closely as Rosen was in 2010.” Reporter Ann Marimow began:

WASHINGTON – A top IRS official in the division that reviews nonprofit groups will invoke the Fifth Amendment and refuse to answer questions before a House committee investigating the agency’s improper screening of conservative nonprofit groups. Lois Lerner, the head of the exempt organizations division of the IRS, won’t answer questions about what she knew about the improper screening – or why she didn’t reveal it to Congress, according to a letter from her defense lawyer, William W. Taylor 3rd. Lerner was scheduled to appear before the House Oversight committee Wednesday.

The wheels came off the Obama administration yesterday. We learned of a startling assault on freedom of the press by the Department of Justice, following the revelation last week of the unprecedented information-gathering foray by that department against The Associated Press. Then, a few minutes later, the Justice Department’s inspector general released a report declaring that the US attorney in Arizona used the leak of a confidential memo to try to discredit a whistleblower in the notorious “gun-walking” scandal known as Fast and Furious (which got two federal agents killed). The leak was called “egregious.”

A senior adviser to President Obama mounted a combative defense of the administration on Sunday, saying the controversies enveloping the White House were the result of Republican lawmakers’ trying to “drag Washington into a swamp of partisan fishing expeditions, trumped-up hearings and false allegations.”The remarks came from Dan Pfeiffer, a member of the president’s inner circle, as he appeared on all five major Sunday morning talk shows in an effort to move the administration past what commentators have described as a “hell week” of controversy and missteps.

Stuart Varney said this morning on "Varney & Co." that one of his producers was given a questionnaire with some surprisingly intrusive questions on it when he switched doctors. One of the questions was whether he/she was concerned about unsecured weapons in the home. Another asked whether he/she was "in a relationship in which you have been physically hurt or are you afraid of your partner?" Judge Andrew Napolitano explained that the question about guns comes out of a post-Sandy Hook executive order by President Obama, but it will be required under Obamacare. Varney expressed amazement

While many Americans were tuned into news coverage of the massive damage from tornadoes ravaging the state of Oklahoma, Rhode Island Democratic Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse took to the Senate floor to rail against his Republican colleagues for denying the theory of anthropogenic global warming. Whitehouse spent 15 minutes chastising GOP senators and justified his remarks by alluding to states that seek federal assistance in the wake of natural disasters. “So, you may have a question for me,” Whitehouse said. “Why do you care? Why do you, Sheldon Whitehouse, Democrat of Rhode Island, care
