| In completely unrelated news. Between September and December 1929, collectivization increased from 7.4% to 15%, but in the first two months of 1930, 11 million households joined collectivized farms, pushing the total to nearly 60% almost overnight. In the news of the day, in the fabled land of Itcanthappenhere… New legislation that jumps the death tax to 55 percent of estates exceeding $1 million threatens 526,421 family farms, of about 25 percent of all farms in America, according to a Senate analysis. This summer, Majority Leader Harry Reid and Senate Democrats passed legislation
|
Comments: The increased tax rate + dropping the exemption + farm real estate values going up = the death tax could put more than 420,000 additional farm estates at risk.
Easy reading. Chilling. The video at the end is about how happy this makes Soros and Buffett - and there is Obie as Soros´s Charlie McCarthy.

Heartbreaking.
My family is a farm family and my parents have SLAVED since they were married in 1965 to have a successful business in a small farm. They scrimped and planned and reinvested and constantly set goals. They made it through really tough times in the 70´s and early 80´s when fuel prices skyrocketed and interest rates were sky-high.
They didn´t take vacations at all....summer was busy with irrigation and haying and harvest and winter was busy with calving and lambing and sometimes, in the spring, they´d have feeder pigs too.
us kids worked in 4-H and FFA and my brother still works the farm to this day with his wife and two sons.
And THIS is how the US legislators reward hard work? My parents have earned every g-damned cent and THIS is what they think they are entitled to???
Crooks...they´re all freaking crooks!!!!

I wonder how the IRS agents will be greeted when they show up at the family farm after the funeral to collect their tax. I recently drove through Iowa and I wonder how such a farm State could have voted for Obama the US version of Stalin.

That´s ok, Republicans only care about millionaires. If you were head of the RNC, you would have probably been forcing the media to cover the farm/small business angle of the ´tax on the wealthy,´ for months. Photo ops from Iowa, etc. Demonstrations on capital steps, etc. Instead all they give the media is mumbling about no taxes. Don´t give me the whine about the media not covering them. There are many angles that are never explored by Republican ´leadership´ for getting the message out.
Some posters may be upset that I slam Republicans so often, but really, how media stupid do you have to be, how out of touch with flyover country are you, that you aren´t hopping mad about this disaster? I know most urban dwellers think chocolate milk comes from brown cows, but this will affect the world, not just us.

This is pure evil. In some investment circles farm land is considered the new hot commodity, better than gold. With these changes to the inheritance tax a lot of family farms would be forced onto the market and snapped up by hedge funds. Savage is right on.

This will end with government controlling the farms and the food supply. How easy it will be to control the population when government decides when and IF you get access to food.

The key for obama and the corrupt libs is that this is a Net Worth tax (when you die). He´s ramping it up so that he can impose it on living people eventually. That will be game-set-match for the King Obayme.

White House advisor Dan Pfeiffer said “the law is irrelevant” when asked by ABC’s George Stephanopoulos Sunday about whether President Obama thought the IRS’ targeting of conservative groups was illegal: Stephanopoulos: What does the president believe? Does the president believe that would be illegal? Pfeiffer: I can’t speak to the law here. The law is irrelevant. The activity was outrageous (Snip) Stephanopoulos: You don’t really mean the law is irrelevant, do you? Pfeiffer: What I mean is whether it’s legal or illegal is not important to the fact that the conduct doesn’t matter.

Treasury officials were made aware in June 2012 that the IRS inspector general was reviewing the office that handles tax-exempt applications, but a letter from October shows that the inspector general did not highlight the audit as a top concern for the agency. In a memo dated October 15, 2012, to then-Treasury Secretary Tim Geithner about IRS challenges for 2013, Inspector General J. Russell George noted other problem areas, but made no mention of the investigation taking place at the time of the agency´s intense scrutiny of conservative groups seeking tax-exempt status.

It eventually comes down to who — who at the IRS was responsible for targeting conservative and Tea Party groups for special scrutiny. Because, after all, you can’t put a “system” in jail. You can’t put a report in prison. You can’t indict a department for corruption. At the end of the day it’s people who are responsible for using the enormous powers of the Internal Revenue Service to go after other people and groups because of their political beliefs. U.S. Rep. Kevin Brady (R-Texas) told the tale of one of his constituents who applied for tax-exempt status for her Tea Party group in July 2010.

Flesh-eating bacteria amputee Aimee Copeland now uses the latest technology in prosthetic hands to chop vegetables, pick up tiny items like Skittles, and comb and iron press her hair. With the bionic hands, Copeland is looking forward to cleaning her house -- she´s a neat freak, she tells CNN -- and cooking her own food. She´s something of a foodie but has been able to eat only microwaveable foods, she adds. WASHINGTON - There were new questions Saturday night concerning if anyone in the White House was aware of the IRS´ targeting of conservative groups. Inspector General Russell George said he informed a deputy at the Treasury Department in June of 2012 about the probe into the IRS. The Treasury Department confirmed the timeline but said they did not know the details of the investigation until last week.(Snip)Marcus Owens ran the tax-exempt division at the IRS for 10 years. In House testimony Friday, former Acting IRS Commissioner Steven Miller explained that the IRS mistakes in handling applications for non-profit status from tea party groups were due, in large part, to a flood of applications following the Citizens United decision. Miller said the targeting was a botched attempt to centralize the process to account for the increased workload. There were fewer applications in 2010, when the IRS began targeting conservative groups, than the year before, however. (Snip)Moreover, the IRS reportedly abandoned the targeting in early 2012. It presumably had little trouble handling the increased number of applicants

What did President Obama do on the evening of 9/11/12 when our men were under attack in Benghazi? The invaluable Andrew McCarthy reminds us that Obama and Secretary Clinton had a 10:00 p.m. phone call of which many (including, I think, Chris Wallace) have lost sight. This morning when Wallace asked Obama aide Dan Pfeiffer what Obama was up to that evening, Pfeiffer declared the line of inquiry “offensive.” Translation: Obama and his minions would prefer to “move on” and are warning the likes of FNC off:(Snip for video)The Weekly Standard’s Daniel Halper has posted the rush transcript

It began in earnest last Friday. A flash mob of latte drinking, tofu eating media that has done its best to quell, rather than fan the flames of truth, turned on one of their own. Jay Carney lay bludgeoned at the base of the podium, a victim of friendly fire. Ironically, the attack was reminiscent of the one in Benghazi he has repeatedly denied the Administration he represents bears any responsibility for. “Changed twelve times?!” came the cries. And with good reason. We were misled; no, lied to.

Treasury Secretary Jack Lew on Friday urged congressional leaders to raise the debt limit and insisted that the White House is not going to negotiate over the increase because lawmakers have "no choice." "We will not negotiate over the debt limit," Lew wrote. "The creditworthiness of the United States is non-negotiable. The question of whether the country must pay obligations it has already incurred is not open to debate." Lew said that while President Obama is willing to discuss plans to reduce the nation´s deficit with Congress, those talks must be kept separate from any effort to raise the nation´s debt cap.

Washington – Sen. Claire McCaskill, D-MO, issued a video statement Friday in response to reports that the Internal Revenue Service unfairly targeted conservative nonprofit groups. (Snip) “There’s a reason Lady Justice wears a blindfold in America. That is because in America, we don’t apply the law based on who you are, who you know, or what you believe. "Can you see in your mind´s eye a way that this might not have been political, that this was a misguided stupid way to sort, but that they didn´t intend it to be some kind of political attempt to harass the Tea Party?" So actually asked CNN´s Candy Crowley of her guest Sen. There will be lots more hearings coming up this week
