Battered by Benghazi, Rice
withdraws as State candidate

Embattled U.N. Ambassador Susan E. Rice withdrew her name Thursday from consideration to succeed Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton after months of criticism over her comments about the terrorist attack that killed four Americans in Benghazi, Libya, in September. Although the decision had been building for weeks, Mrs. Rice’s request was a stunning setback for President Obama, who angrily defended her in a November news conference and challenged the Republican critics that “they should go after me” over the handling of the Benghazi attack. Mrs. Rice has been

The false narrative is that the mean racist Republican Senators kept her from being Secretary of State, but they had no means to stop her. It is clear that influential Democrats behind the scenes wanted her out.

Forget Rice she was just a diversion from Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton who should have been the target by McCain and the other silly senators.

Such idiots those Senators are but then they are all part of the good old boys club which includes Clinton. She got a pass.

This country is a mess. How any GI/or good American could serve this country anymore is beyond me.

This gives His Majesty a great opportunity to throw another name in the ring - Barack´s favorite communist/Truther Marxist subversive (and MSM heartthrob!): Van Jones. Who better to represent the current anti-American state of State than Van the Man? Granted, Hillary the Miracle Worker is a hard act to follow, but Jones´ seething, white-hot hatred of the US Constitution qualifies him well for whatever mission Dear Leader would assign him.

Rice is in the full martyr mode and will hope to be elevated to Sandra Fluke´s level as she was criticized. She will now be used as a tool against the right.

When tossed against the wall, accusations of GOP racism didn´t stick this time, and that is a dangerous thing for the left.

Nothing is ever as it seems in Washington and I don´t believe for one minute that she ´voluntarily withdrew´. Since when has this bunch ever cared about anything being costly and devisive? Obama´s own party was going to balk on this one. And they can shove their racist card. Being black does not sheild you from any and all criticsm.

Let´s look at character - Obama defended her saying the Republicans were talking badly about her. (he´s defending someone who lied - lack of character). She´s the one who went on tv and lied to the nation. If she was just a mouth for someone else, then she doesn´t deserve to serve the country in any way. She should have looked into it. Again, the death of the 4 people are being side tracked by this circus.

#1 is correct. The story isn´t about the Republicans who recently criticized Rice. It´s the silence from Senate Democrats.

I wish this was about incompetence but I suspect it is mostly about personality. Over the last 20 years Rice has rubbed too many people the wrong way. It was reminiscent of what happened when Bush 41 named the abrasive John Tower to Defense.

Yeah, agree it was a group decision for her to withdraw. Bamster is off the hook, avoided the sausage grinder confirmation fiasco and Rice didn´t have to go through rejection. It´s that soft approach for getting rid of a liability.

Word had it on Foxy news that pubs sent a message to Biden last week that it was a "no way" confirmation and even democrats had contested her. Did the DC fool learn anything, that once you hire a henchwoman to make the rounds with lies and spin, they´ve lost all credibility once exposed? Probably not. His affirmative action mindset of hiring people with no record, a poor record or recently discredited is on full power. The less the nominee has done the more eligible they are.

I love the way it was spun as "taking herself off of the list", as if she had the list for the day, like a library book someone checks out! ha ha ha ha.

Hillary is/was a disaster and frankly flying all over the world doing what she does(exactly what have been the results of her tenure there)really hasn´t helped the US at all. We are being ruled by morons and children and we have to figure out a way to stop this. I guess demandining answers from the Preezy is the first step. No more letter writing. He needs to be stopped. The Social Security Administration announced Monday that it will immediately cease efforts to collect on taxpayers’ debts to the government that are more than 10 years old. The action comes after The Washington Post reported that the government was seizing state and federal tax refunds that were on their way to about 400,000 Americans who had relatives who owed money to Social Security. In many cases, the people whose refunds were intercepted had never heard of any debt, and the debts dated as far back as the middle of the past century. “I have directed an immediate halt to further

Democrats have had a recurring problem in special elections this year: Their voters aren’t turning out. If a weak economy and continued Obamacare problems persist, the November elections could be a disaster for Democrats. Last week, Democrats lost two special elections they weren’t planning to. Arlington, Va., is a classic wealthy ObamaTown, filled with government workers and limousine liberals. Mitt Romney won only 29 percent of the vote in 2012. But last Tuesday, Democrats lost their first election for the five-member Arlington County Board in 15 years when John Vihstadt, a Republican running as an independent, won a vacancy on

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid said little as federal agents seized and then released cattle last week from the Bundy ranch, but there is little doubt that the highly charged episode was threatening to become a political headache for the Nevada Democrat. The Bureau of Land Management is headed by former longtime Reid aide Neil Kornze, who was confirmed by the Senate as BLM director on Tuesday, just as federal authorities descended on the cattle ranch outside Mesquite, Nev. Mr. Kornze issued a statement Saturday saying that the bureau would return the cattle and withdraw its agents from the ranch

On the defensive about their prospects in the midterm elections this fall, congressional Democrats have spent all of April savaging the Republican budget proposal, decrying the Koch brothers and championing a series of bills meant to ingratiate themselves to struggling middle-class voters. In promoting legislation that would extend unemployment benefits, increase the minimum wage and promote equal pay for women, the Democrats have declared themselves the party that will ensure a “fair shot” for all. Republicans, they insist, are the party of special interests. It has been a classic Washington messaging campaign for these partisan

On a trip to Moscow early in her tenure as secretary of state, Hillary Rodham Clinton played the role of international saleswoman, pressing Russian government officials to sign a multibillion-dollar deal to buy dozens of aircraft from Boeing. President Obama addressed the White House press corps today, announcing that with the final numbers in, Obamacare´s exchanges have attracted eight million sign-ups -- 35 percent of whom are "under the age of 35," he said. Several elements of his comments were misleading: (1) At first blush, the 35 percent stat is both significant and impressive. As recently as last month, the share of "young invincibles" signing up for plans was struggling in the 25 percent range, far short of the actuarial target of nearly 40 percent. A leap into the mid-30´s, while still shy of the goal, would constitute a major step, and would bode well for the risk pools'
