| NBC News reports that US Ambassador to the United Nations Susan Rice has withdrawn her name from consideration as Secretary of State: “If nominated, I am now convinced that the confirmation process would be lengthy, disruptive and costly – to you and to our most pressing national and international priorities,” Rice wrote in a letter to President Obama, saying she’s saddened by the partisan politics surrounding her prospects. I suspect that she did not want to answer questions about Benghazi or her personal finances. The investments with companies doing business in Iran was sure to come up. Follow the money.
After reading the ungracious, snarky withdrawal letter, one wonders how this person was ever considered for a diplomatic position of any kind. What the heck is she even doing at the UN?

Steve King, Michele Bachmann and other members of the Tea Party Caucus will host a nearly day-long dialogue and discussion on immigration reform. A series of shootings this weekend has Chicagoans on edge. A total of 11 separate shootings since Friday night have resulted in seven deaths and at least 30 injuries in the Windy City. The victims range in age from 16-years old to 40-years-old, according to multiple media reports.
