| A high profile announcement by Mexico’s newly inaugurated president has put energy reform on the front burner. In an interview with the Financial Times, Mr. Enrique Peña Nieto outlined the historic reforms he intends to push for Mexico’s energy sector: Mr Pena Nieto said the reform proposal could be sent to congress in the first half of 2013, and approved before the end of the year. “It is about giving space so that the private sector participates with the idea of strengthening the capacity of the Mexican state,” he said.

Mexico´s carbon fuel reserve are huge and well know. Their natural market would be the USA. Could go a long way to help bring down fuel costs here. Unless, of course, Obama lets the Chinese sneak in and take it all.

Thinking about the discussion a day or two ago, ...re: Ballard and the flood, ...I note that all around the world the political classes are waking up to realize that there is tight gas and oil...everywhere. When I say that, it is clear that the deposits which make black shale are lumped together as debris gathers in floods. All around the world, China, Britain, Mexico, Africa...carbonaceous shale. Something to think about.

A pair of centrist senators introduced a bill Wednesday to soften the employer mandate in President Obama´s healthcare law. The healthcare law requires employers to offer coverage to employees who work more than 30 hours per week. Some employers have said they will reduce workers´ hours to avoid the mandate. Sens. The popularity of Obamacare has crashed to its lowest level in nearly two years, according to a new Kaiser Family Foundation poll. Kaiser´s monthly tracking poll found that just 35 percent have a favorable view of the health reform being put into place Jan. 1 while 43 percent view it unfavorably. The favorability rating of Obamacare has been worse only once, in October 2011, when it fell to 34 percent. An attorney whose firm represents two Benghazi whistleblowers said Gen. Martin Dempsey, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, lied to the Senate when he said there was never a “stand down” order during the Benghazi attack on Sept. 11, 2012. “What was fascinating is that he explained his lie to them,” Joe DiGenova, an attorney representing one of the whistleblowers, told CNSNews.com. “He actually said they were sent to Tripoli.
