In an interview with Fox News host Bill O´Reilly last year, President Obama claimed he "didn´t raise taxes once." O´Reilly didn´t challenge the claim, and other reporters repeated it as fact. But it was completely false. By the time he went on O´Reilly´s show, Obama had signed more than 20 tax hikes into law with a combined 10-year price tag of more than $500 billion. However, since most of these taxes targeted relatively small and unpopular groups — smokers, tanning salons, insurance companies, the rich — few seemed to notice.
o´reilly has never really contradicted or attacked obama. He always finds either someone else to blame or puts it down to obscure occurrences. The dems must have some really good dirt on him. As for tax the rich? The rich have their money out of this country by now, legally shielded, and can afford to wait out the next four years and not buy/invest in anything. Or they can, as a historically large number of people have done since obama was elected, resign their citizenship and relocate to somewhere where they can make and keep most of their money. And the voters in this country are just that dumb they haven´t figured that out.
Progressives are using Conservatives today like The Nazis used the Jews during WWII. Conservatives are to blame for EVERYTHING.
Everything that Progressives do is GOOD and should NEVER be questioned. Everything that Conservatives do is BAD and should ALWAYS be demonized.
Liberals claim to be compassionate. They are not. What is baked into their DNA is the hypocritical belief that their “ends” justify their “means”. They are happier when Conservatives are demonized rather than when the poor are helped.
Progressivism will collapse under its own weight so the sooner we can help it along, the quicker we can rebuild our Society.
Obama is a serial liar, lying unabashedly to citizens, to joint sessions of Congress, to the military, to anyone who will waste time listening. Just his massive lies over ObamaCare (lower premiums, reduce costs, improve care, not cover illegals, keep your doctor, not pay for abortions, doctors falsely removing limbs) should have subjected him to ridicule and possibly removal from office as delusional. Instead, he´s reelected to continue his lies. As with a previous deceiver, Richard Nixon, nothing good will come from Obama´s next four years.
As to O´Reilly, we stopped watching him 2 years ago due to his lack of research and his preference for bluster over informed argument. Plus, putting on blatant leftist propagandist like Alan Colmes, Juan Williams and the affirmative action beneficiary from Columbia is tedious at best.
O´Reilly is so easily mislead by his guests that it does make you wonder. His main goal seems to be appearing "reasonable", which entails letting libs lie thru their teeth on his show. And let´s not forget his getting audited for three years in a row when he dared ask why Jesse Jackson was allowed to file a tax return with millions claimed as uncataloged "expenses"! He learned not to poke that hornet´s nest again.
I have come to the conclusion that Bill O´Reilly is the spin meister...what he doesn´t say, challenge or bring up is the most sinister type of spin. This story is a perfect example...he panders to many so they will like him and come back to his show...inother words he´s a Lib in Sheeple clothing. I never watch his show anymore, the transparency of his hypocricy is sickening.
The public overwhelmingly opposes any ObamaCare bailout of the insurance industry, the latest IBD/TIPP Poll found, even as the Obama administration is paving the way to do just that. The survey found that 65% oppose a federal bailout of insurance companies that find their profits hit because not enough young, healthy people sign up for ObamaCare plans. Opposition is widespread, the poll of 907 adults found, with 51% of Democrats, 71% of Republicans and 76% of independents against it. It´s opposed by every age and demographic group as well. Although few people knew about it until recently, the health law contains a three-year
Millennials: Having failed to convince the public that ObamaCare is a good thing, President Obama on Wednesday tried selling his snake oil to young people. Turns out they aren´t buying it, either — nor should they. Despite the administration spending a fortune promoting ObamaCare, enlisting celebrities to endorse it, and telling moms to get their kids to sign up, most young people disapprove of the law. A Harvard University Institute of Politics survey of 18- to 29-year-olds found that 57% oppose ObamaCare. More than half think it will increase their costs, and a plurality (40%) believe it will hurt the quality of
Politics: We keep hearing about how the Republican Party is full of radical Tea Party crazies. But our latest IBD/TIPP Poll shows that it´s Democrats who are out of touch with reality and well outside the mainstream. The public overwhelmingly believes the country is headed in the wrong direction, that current economic policies aren´t working, that President Obama is doing a bad job, that government should be smaller and that ObamaCare should be repealed. But not Democrats. On issue after issue, in fact, Democrats are the outliers by wide margins, according to an analysis of the December IBD/TIPP survey.
Maybe the 10th time will be the charm for President Obama and his health care law. "The bottom line is this law is working, and will work into the future," Obama said Tuesday in a speech kicking off a month-long PR blitz for his signature legislation. "We´re not going back." Obama went on to highlight benefits he regularly touts, such as free preventive care, prescription drug savings for seniors, and the like. And he attacked the GOP for pushing for repeal. This is the 10th time the president has made public remarks defending ObamaCare since its disastrous launch on Oct.
Nearly four in 10 seniors worry ObamaCare will cause them to lose doctors they like, despite President Obama´s repeated promise to the contrary, according to the latest IBD/TIPP Poll. That translates into nearly 16 million people age 65 and over. Their concerns appear to be justified. Many seniors are, in fact, already losing access to their doc tors, and more than half a million are losing access to plans they liked this year, as $200 billion in ObamaCare-mandated cuts to the popular Medicare Advantage program start to take effect. Earlier this month, seniors learned that UnitedHealth (UNH) is dropping thousands
Just 18% of the uninsured have bothered to go to one of the ObamaCare exchange websites, according to a recent Gallup survey. And only 22% say they plan to buy an ObamaCare plan next year. That same week, a Reuters poll found that 56% of the uninsured oppose ObamaCare. Just 44% view it favorably. In other words, the uninsured are, if anything, more opposed to the law than are the public at large. Given the mounting fury over millions of policy cancellations and the federal exchange website debacle, these findings garnered little public attention. But they should.
Recovery: The latest GDP report shows that President Obama´s policies continue to weigh down the economy. Now 51 months old, his recovery is by far the weakest since the Great Depression. At 2.8%, real growth in the third quarter was higher than expected, a rarity. But the latest government data also hinted at weakness, as consumer and business spending slowed. In short, the strong growth everyone predicted at the start of the year is a no-show, just as the previous predictions of prosperity just around the corner proved false. It also means that Obama´s recovery — now more than 4 years old — Byline corrected to site style.
More young men in California rise in pitch at the end of their sentences when talking, new research shows. This process is known as "uptalk" or "valleygirl speak" and has in the past been associated with young females, typically from California or Australia. But now a team says that this way of speaking is becoming more frequent among men.The findings were presented at the Meeting of the Acoustical Society of America in California. "We found use of uptalk in all of our speakers, despite their diverse backgrounds in socioeconomic status, ethnicity, bilingualism and gender," said Amanda Ritchart, a linguist at the University of
The question all week long was this: Who are you going to believe, an illegal alien or the president of the United States of America? Obviously, if it’s a president who once went by an alias, Barry Soetoro, you go with Uncle Omar, 100 percent, no questions asked. And so it was that the White House finally admitted to another, uh, misstatement — despite previous denials, Barack/Barry did sleep on his beloved Uncle Omar’s couch in Cambridge when he first moved here to attend Harvard Law School (speaking of which, we’re still waiting to see the president’s grades and his LSAT scores). But the
How do you get your arms around the catastrophe known as Obamacare? Is it even possible? At this point, I’m not sure it is. The list of individual disasters which threaten to ruin one-sixth of the U.S. economy and what has been, up until now, the best healthcare system in the world is exhaustive, and exhausting. The examples I will identify here barely scratch the surface. First but by no means foremost, we have the supposedly new and improved HealthCare.gov. Except it’s not, even the visible part. Stories still abound of people still failing to get in or to get through the enrollment
DAVID CORN: I saw a president who remains frustrated with the political-media culture that he has to work within, and that he´s looking to rally people, students here, and supporters, and people within the media. CHRIS MATTHEWS: But David Corn, you skeptic. He came to us today. He came amongst us. CORN: He´s trying to rally people behind this vision that he´s been promoting for a couple years. FINEMAN: By the way, he did it the end here, today, Chris, not by defending specifics, but by explaining why he´s in the game to begin with. And I don´t know about you, he´s
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has announced a new five-year strategic plan to improve safety for elderly drivers and passengers. Although they are statistically among the safest on the road, the number of older drivers is increasing dramatically — and with it, that group´s numbers of injuries and deaths. Since 2003, the population of older adults, defined as age 65 and older, has increased by 20% and the number of licensed older drivers increased by 21% to 35 million in 2012, according to NHTSA. Last year, NHTSA reported that 5,560 people older than 65 died and 214,000 were injured
The most curious thing of all about the November jobs report released on Friday was the huge drop in the unemployment rate — and the fact that the Labor Department chose not to disclose that the data going into that figure are under investigation for falsification. On Nov. 19, I broke the news in my column that the Census Bureau, which collects data that goes into the jobless rate on behalf of Labor, had caught one of its enumerators fabricating interviews in 2010. The culprit said back then (and to me during an interview) that he was told to do so by
Denver - A baker who refused to make a wedding cake for a same-sex ceremony must serve gay couples despite his religious beliefs or face fines, a judge said Friday. The order from administrative law judge Robert N. Spencer said Masterpiece Cakeshop in suburban Denver discriminated against a couple "because of their sexual orientation by refusing to sell them a wedding cake for their same-sex marriage." The order says the cake-maker must "cease and desist from discriminating" against gay couples. Although the judge did not impose fines in this case, the business will face penalties if it continues to turn away gay
