Senate Democrats Urge
Undoing of ObamaCare

Breitbart´s Big Government, by Dr. Susan Berry

Original Article

Many powerful Democrats, even some of the most liberal among them, are supporting what amounts to a dismantling of President Obama’s signature health care law. Using “Republican” language to make their case, these Democrats are attempting to repeal some of the funding mechanisms as well as the cost-containment measures that were purportedly inherent in the law. With some of their most influential constituent groups facing onerous tax increases that are slated to help fund the law’s mandates and regulations, Senators like Al Franken (D-MN), Dick Durbin (D-IL), Charles Schumer

Take really bad law and apply some bandaids, duct tape, bailing wire, spit, glue and, no doubt, a zillion more bureaucrats to square things up. Buckle up, it´s gonna be a bumpy future.

If these geniuses are involved in effecting any changes, the worst legislation in history will get even more complex, more intractable, less efficient, less fair, less effective, and more costly than it is today.

Where were these idiots when the law was passed if it is so bad? Following orders and that´s all.

I guess the people responsible for passing this bill (all democrats in the Senate) finally read what´s in it. Hopefully this will catch on and the other dims will recognize the err of their way. Or are they already thinking 2014.

Each party has the other by the short ones...the GOP is losing the "fiscal cliff" issue no matter what...and the Dems hammer the other 98% with taxes and cost hikes to cover Obama´s "Affordable Care Act." Frankly, both going over the cliff works for me.

How about repealing the bill and starting over?!

S-o-o-o, how about any senator who voted for this [pre-deleted] dog´s breakfast of a "law" and is already pushing to hack chunks off it and make major changes like these gets assessed for costs and sent to jail for malfeasance?

Oh, and how did Breitbart manage to skip over the critical tort-reform the bill provides? Oh, that´s right! There are none!

Reply 9 - Posted by: terror118, 12/13/2012 12:06:09 AM     (No. 9062683)

Let the law go on, just as "written" by the pizza- and beer-swilling gaggles of 19-year-old pages that were really responsible for it. No one, not even Pelosi, knew what was in it when it was passed. Now we do, and we know that elderly people with chronic, life-threatening conditions are going to die. Well, I´m one of them; I´ve set my affairs in order and I want to go. I know where I´m going, and I´m looking forward to it.

Well, folks, let´s not be tooooo hard on the Dems. Remember, they had to pass it to know what was in it. Idiots.

Sham senators who knowingly voted for a sham law endorsed by a sham president, justifying their sham vote with a sham "concern" for a sham "fairness".

Their party affiliation is enough evidence to judge them incapable of thinking one single clear thought. That they would consider undoing Obamacare is a sham.

To assure the repeal of Obamacare simply require that all those Congressmen who voted for it must use it as their sole health care coverage.

I just read about this on another news site and it sounded like the dems were concerned about the tax on medical devices. It didn´t mention undoing the whole Obamacare. I certainly wish they would throw the whole thing in the garbage. No one mentioned the 3.5% tax on the sale of your home after January 1 or other goodies they threw in. What a nightmare.

Zippycare will be in full force in the next Senatorial election in 2014. The chit will hit the fan when everyone feels what it means.

Too many will wake up one day, finding that they are working 2 jobs part time, and have to report there health insurance status to the IRS, and will start to realize the pain of ObamaCare taxes.

Just like everything else, Obozo will pick & choose who he wants to exempt. It´s just God Obama´s way! Oh... BTW, AARP´s UHC, who was a strong supporter of ObieCare, has now reduced reimbursement rates to docs & hospitals so much, they´ve been dropped by several Tampa hospitals & affiliated docs.

Again, I expect to see retired gov´t workers HC bills. as well as MediCaid, to be paid at a higher rate than regular folks like me. It´s just Obozo´s way!

There has to be a catch to this. Maybe some liberals are figuring out Obamacare will cost THEM money.

#12, you´ve got it. The GOP should have made the most of that issue. Take about "fairness" when the people who voted to impose the law on us have exempted themselves from it.

The dims are indeed dim. I´ve got plants in my yard smarter than them. The rocks are smarter than Franken.

Nothing in this article wasn´t known YEARS ago. Smart people pointed out all these points and their consequences well before this bill was law.

But, no, nothing will change this. Our health system and our economy will crater and unemployment will be greater than 50% before any single dim will admit that this was, indeed, the mistake the GOP and every person with a brain said it was.

This will make the depression look like a vacation at Club Med.

17 Democrat Senators are asking for a waiver or exemption for certain of their constitutants. All others can bear the burden. Is this the "fairness" the Democrats are always talking about?

Reply 21 - Posted by: ocjim, 12/13/2012 7:57:11 AM     (No. 9062993)

But the insurance companies and the AARP liked ObamaCare... Actually, they´re all insurance companies. He needed there help to bring this all off so deals were cut. Another fine hour for Obama style crony capitalism. We really do need to get a handle on the behind closed door wheeling and dealing Obama and the Donks had with the various special interests.
Deals were cut, arms were twisted... What were they?

And I still will never understand the quiet, even the complacency of the doctors on this monstrous coup of our medical care. Imagine the outcry from lawyers if Obama tried to make huge changes to the legal biz and the lawyer-client relationship.

I have always been skeptical of electric vehicles, mostly because of my perception that electric car makers are more interested in subsisting on government subsidies than in competing on a level playing field for my business. So I was intrigued when I got an email this morning from Jeff Evanson, Tesla Motors’ Vice-President of investor relations. Evanson, a long-time Power Line reader, pointed out that the company raised over $1 billion last week, and will use a portion of those proceeds to pay off its loan with the Department of Energy ahead of schedule. This will make Tesla

Here is a woman we will need to learn much more about in the coming weeks. Sarah Hall Ingram is a highly valued employee at the IRS. Under her leadership, groups that expressed a fear of large, out-of-control government were systematically crushed by her branch of our large, out-of-control government. An exasperated Rep. I was on Hugh Hewitt’s radio show last night, talking about the Benghazi talking point emails. Near the end of the segment, Hugh asked whether I thought the presidential election might have turned out differently if Obama and Clinton had not succeeded in covering up the truth about Benghazi. I was skeptical. The story of the election, I said, was the Obama campaign’s ability to turn out, once again, a large majority of the low-information voters who swept Obama into office in 2008. Few of those low-information voters, I said, would either have understood, or cared about, Benghazi

As tax collector for the nation’s second-largest state, I know it’s a necessary function — from the fire station to the space station, nothing government does is possible without taxes. But it’s sure no path to popularity. Tax collectors have had a rotten reputation since biblical times. For all the services and all the people that depend on it, our work has to be viewed as fair and even-handed. It’s a basic bond of trust, and once that trust is lost, it’s hard to get back. Our entire nation was born when the colonists decided Britain’s taxes were unfair

While many Democrats have joined Republicans in public shaming of the Internal Revenue Service for singling out conservative groups, others say the scandal is just a byproduct of muddied rules about nonprofits and political activity in the wake of the Citizens United ruling — and they’re hoping that they can steer the conversation from outrage over political targeting to fuel for campaign finance reform. But senior Dems may have much more than an opportunity to try to turn scandal to their advantage: they may have a degree of culpability as one especially vocal proponent

What did President Obama do on the evening of 9/11/12 when our men were under attack in Benghazi? The invaluable Andrew McCarthy reminds us that Obama and Secretary Clinton had a 10:00 p.m. phone call of which many (including, I think, Chris Wallace) have lost sight. This morning when Wallace asked Obama aide Dan Pfeiffer what Obama was up to that evening, Pfeiffer declared the line of inquiry “offensive.” Translation: Obama and his minions would prefer to “move on” and are warning the likes of FNC off:(Snip for video)The Weekly Standard’s Daniel Halper has posted the rush transcript

In the wake of one of the worst abuses of government power in recent history, many are rushing to frame the Internal Revenue Service scandal as simply an attack on conservative activists. That view risks creating a partisan political football and misses a fundamentally scarier abuse that exceeds the scandals of Watergate or any other prior government abuse. The IRS has admitted that since May 2010 it targeted grassroots-conservative organizations that had applied for tax-exempt status, unfairly subjecting them to rigorous scrutiny due to their political leanings. Such groups were told they were required to comply with IRS requests,

Treasury Secretary Jack Lew on Friday urged congressional leaders to raise the debt limit and insisted that the White House is not going to negotiate over the increase because lawmakers have "no choice." "We will not negotiate over the debt limit," Lew wrote. "The creditworthiness of the United States is non-negotiable. The question of whether the country must pay obligations it has already incurred is not open to debate." Lew said that while President Obama is willing to discuss plans to reduce the nation´s deficit with Congress, those talks must be kept separate from any effort to raise the nation´s debt cap.

It began in earnest last Friday. A flash mob of latte drinking, tofu eating media that has done its best to quell, rather than fan the flames of truth, turned on one of their own. Jay Carney lay bludgeoned at the base of the podium, a victim of friendly fire. The Internal Revenue Service´s watchdog told top Treasury officials around June 2012 he was investigating allegations the tax agency had targeted conservative groups, for the first time indicating that Obama administration officials were aware of the explosive matter in the midst of the president´s re-election campaign. The disclosure to the Treasury general counsel and the deputy secretary was a cursory one, according to J. Russell George, the Treasury inspector general for tax administration.
