Barbara Walters Performs Extremely
‘Uncomfortable’ Inquisition Of
Chris Christie About His Weight

New Jersey’s Republican Governor, Chris Christie, recently sat down with Barbara Walters for a lengthy interview. In a clip of the interview broadcast on ABC’s Good Morning America, Walters asks Christie repeatedly about the “elephant in the room” which is, in her opinion, the governor’s weight. “I feel very uncomfortable asking you this question when I’m sitting opposite you,” Walters prefaced her inquiry. “You are a little overweight.” “More than a little,” Christie replied. “Why,” she asked.“If I could figure that out, I’d fix it,” he answered.

Christie, if he had any gumption left after that infamous Obama-hug, should have replied: "Babs, you can fix fat. You can´t fix stupid. Now bring me a sandwich."

What´s the matter Barbara, are you afraid he´ll sit on you.

How would she like it if someone asked her about her plastic surgery? Or her real age? Word on the street is that Babs is in George Burns territory. I´m just sayin´.

The governor can lose weight. Walters can´t undo her plastic surgery. Her face is so tight she can barely talk anymore.

Maybe that´s a good thing.

I have no love for Christie, but it his politics, not his weight that bothers me. To ask that question of anyone (especially in a public venue) shows absolutely no class and is extremely rude.

Isn´t this the lump who bragged about cheating on her husband?

How is his weight even relevant? W. H. Taft was at least Christie´s size, and not only did he do just fine as President and Chief Justice, but lived to be 73 (longer than average lifespan then). Whether or not you like Christie (I am definitely not a fan), I think any fair-minded person would agree that he should be judged by the weight of his character, judgment, and record, not percentage of body fat.

Funny, Barbara never asked Rosie O´Donnel about her weight....

Never asked Joy Behar about her enormous butt....

Never asked Whoopi how she acquired that enormous, swinging gut....

Wonder why.

Only liberals can judge which groups are protected and which groups may still be safely humiliated and autopsied for public amusement.

It must take great wisdom to make these kind of decisions.

How do they do it ?

I guess I should have stayed in school.

Remember her interview with Paula Deen? Rudest ever. If CC or his staff can´t do his own due diligence about who he chooses to talk to, or tell that village crone to get back to her knitting, I really can´t feel sorry for him.

Reply 21 - Posted by: billa, 12/12/2012 3:55:18 PM     (No. 9062065)

The questions is somewhat fair game, because Christie has come out several times raising the issue of his rotundity. Aside, from being a rude and classless question, I would like to know if she would ask the same question of MO, who is beyond round, e.g., "Mrs. Obama since you have made child obesity, healthy eating and exercise, changing public school menus and proposing menu and calorie alterations to active duty soldiers the cornerstone of your tenure as First Lady, how is it that you justify consuming highly expensive and ultra fat meals at the WH and your vacays, all the while you are seriously overweight and appear to be expanding with eacch photo op.

If her point was that his lifestyle is putting his health at risk, has she ever asked guests on her show about their risky lifestyles? Has she asked gay actors is they worry about HIV or alcoholics if they´re worried about their liver?

His response should have been "no, "I´m not overweight - I´m fat. And you are a whore, sleeping with married men."

Christie should have replied: "I can do Nutrisystem and lose 40 pounds in a month. Sadly, no matter what you do, you´ll still be ugly."

Christie would have been wise to study up on his Winston Churchill quotes before the debate:

"I may be drunk, Miss, but in the morning I will be sober and you will still be ugly."

Her betrayal consists of being gauche enough to acknowledge publicly a truth that everyone who’s come up through Ivy League culture knows intuitively —

A New York hedge fund manager allegedly swindles $12 million from a prominent Baltimore family. The website, jointly controlled by News Corp and Walt Disney Co, reached out to potential buyers in March after initially contemplating a deal in which one would buy out the other. It is not clear whether that transaction is still being contemplated.

After lengthy investigations, the Pentagon has determined that three Army generals committed misconduct in separate incidents, adding to an unusually long list of senior military commanders who have been censured over the past year.On Friday, defense officials confirmed that Army Maj. Gen. Ralph O. Baker, the commander of a strategic counterterrorism force on the Horn of Africa, was fired March 28 on charges of sexual misconduct. Two officials familiar with the case said Baker was investigated for allegedly groping a female civilian employee after he had been drinking.

President Obama´s biggest gaffe yesterday when speaking of California Attorney General Kamala Harris was not in flirtatiously complimenting her as "the best-looking attorney general," but in introducing an observation from the system of beauty into a forum that was about the system of power. What´s that, you say? Irin Carmon does a great job in Salon in laying out the bounds of propriety for when it´s appropriate to talk about a woman´s looks as a general matter. But I´ve long felt we lack a solid theoretical underpinning for easily discussing these issues, and why precisely it is that

Political scientist Charles Murray has never backed away from controversy, but usually his opponents have been liberals. Friday, however, he managed to upset conservatives at the annual conference known as CPAC, where thousands of bewildered Republicans gathered to figure out the way forward after their party’s 2012 electoral defeat. Murray ditched his prepared remarks on “America Coming Apart” in favor of an impromptu admonition to fellow conservatives to accept the legalization of both gay marriage and abortion.

The public got its first look Thursday at Lois Lerner, who has gone from faceless IRS bureaucrat to the face that launched what feels like 1,000 congressional hearings and conspiracy theories. But it was only a brief sighting since she didn´t stay long at a House hearing to further probe her role in how some IRS workers came to target conservative groups seeking tax-exempt status. (Snip)She did make a short statement to declare her innocence, however. Lerner´s motivation was more transparent than much of what the IRS has done in connection with this controversy. When you get right down to it, the political targeting and stalling of tax-exempt applications by the IRS was an effort to defund the Tea Party. Rick Santelli, one of the Tea Party founders and my CNBC colleague, was the first to make this point. I’ve taken it a step further: The IRS was taking the Tea Party out of play for the 2012 election, as it looked to avoid a repeat of 2010 and another Tea Party landslide. There are a lot of numbers out there.

Conservative radio host Mark Levin is very skeptical of the idea that President Obama had absolutely no idea about the IRS tea party targeting before the story broke in the news mere weeks ago. Levin declared adamantly that it is a “flat-out, bald-faced lie” that Obama didn’t know beforehand, citing prior reports by a few conservative news outlets picking up on the news well before the 2012 presidential election.
