Put me down as one as a Cuban-American who voted for Romney. Yes, we saw that "hope and change" movie before and it does not end well. Trust me: Very bad ending! Just ask my parents and all of those Cubans who came here in the 1960s! Today, I saw a poll that 77% of Latino voters support raising taxes on the rich. Here is a message to the GOP: Amnesty or immigration reform had nothing to do with Obama carrying Hispanos by a huge margin.

I don´t know. H. Clinton got pretty far by using "I don´t recall."

The "Hispanics" we´re all talking about came here to rip us off for all they can take. Period... no respect for our laws or our Country. Their motto is "Tu casa es mi casa." Disgusting.

This isn´t 1960, and Castro doesn´t look so threatening anymore, especially without the Russian bear standing behind him. The USA lost its chance to free Cuba after the Soviets fell...should´ve just opened the floodgates of American tourists south. Castro would have been gone in a few weeks, overrun by his own people rushing to provide goods and services to tourists and adventurers.

I can promise you, Mr. Canto, that the latinos who have invaded the American Southwest and swamped our services to the point of self-extinction and financial disaster care not one whit about what Cubans think. These ´´hispanics´´ are an entirely different animal, entirely.

Come live out here for awhile, and learn. Failing that, look up MS13, or Reconquista, or MEChA. There are multiple levels of invasion out here. Check out California prison populations, research drunk-driving offenders and sexual assaults in Arizona.

I trust you that Cubans came here for freedom and better life. Mexican latinos believe they STARTED here, that Americans ´took it´ from them, and THEY WANT IT BACK.

Not only that, but look up OTM´s as well. There are ´o´ther ´t´han ´M´exicans coming over our border for purposes of nothing good. There are training camps in Mexico for al qaeda-related groups on how to blend in and look and act like the Mexicans. They´re even learning Mexican Spanish so they can hide with the native Indios who steal across the border. Then they kill the poorer Mexicans who spend their entire life savings for a coyote to get them here, and then lose their lives in the desert when one of these OTM´s kills and beheads the whole group.

We are facing much different issues out here, where the majority of the Democrat votes were cast (some through coercion and threat by their union bosses..... oh don´t get me started on THAT).

Hispanics? Aren´t they the descendants of the conquistadors who brought disease to the natives and stole all their gold?

Reply 7 - Posted by: whyyeseyec, 12/12/2012 2:10:44 PM     (No. 9061885)

What is the purpose of immigration reform Mr. Canto? We already have immigration laws on the in place for becoming a citizen legally. We don`t enforce our laws an adding new `reforms` won`t be enforced either.

Latinos couldn´t make their own countries work.
Why expect them to be any different once they washed up on America´s shores?

1. Superb post, #4. Simply superb. Thank you.

2. Here illegally? Get out.

3. Anyone who votes or takes policy decisions or supports candidates on the basis of race and/or group identity is a danger to the country, an enemy of our institutions, and a moron. Any questions?

#4, absolutely true. We own land in Cochise County and it´s awful the way the realtors, police departments, city officials keep insisting facts like yours are BOGUS.

HIGHLANDS, NJ — New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie said Monday that President Obama "has kept every promise he´s made" about helping the state recover from Hurricane Sandy. Speaking on MSNBC´s "Morning Joe" program on the 6-month anniversary of the deadly storm, the Republican governor said presidential politics were the last thing on his mind as he toured storm-devastated areas with Obama last fall. "The president has kept every promise he´s made," said Christie, widely considered a potential candidate for the republican presidential nomination in 2016. "I think he´s done a good job. He kept his word."

In the wake of this week´s false AP tweet about explosions at the White House, Bloomberg´s Jared Keller and Evan Applegate offer a look at how "false tweets" can move markets, sending stocks spiking or crashing in an instant. "The AP hack highlights the potential pitfalls of relying on social networks for tradable information, but false tweets have been affecting markets and companies for the past few years," they write. "In some cases the impact of false tweets can be immediate. On August 6, 2012: A Twitter account claiming to be that of Russian Interior Minister Vladimir Kolokoltsev

Tamerlan Tsarnaev was on welfare, sponsored by tax payers. Tsarnaev, now dead, is suspected of bombing the Boston Marathon last week. "Marathon bombings mastermind Tamerlan Tsarnaev was living on taxpayer-funded state welfare benefits even as he was delving deep into the world of radical anti-American Islamism, the Herald has learned," reports the Boston Herald. "State officials confirmed last night that Tsarnaev, slain in a raging gun battle with police last Friday, was receiving benefits along with his wife, Katherine Russell Tsarnaev, and their 3-year-old daughter.

“He looks like me,” my son, Shibli, 10, said as we looked at a photo of a young Dzhokhar Tsarnaev flash upon the TV screen Friday night. Indeed, with his innocent eyes and rumple of dark curly hair, he did. As an American, a Muslim, a mother, and an aunt to a nephew on the cusp of manhood, my heart just broke for yet another boy lost in our Muslim community, taking with him the lives of others. Enough, enough, enough, I say, with the CYA—Cover Your A**—strategy in our Muslim communities.

This is a real thing that is really happening. For real. Former Rep. Anthony Weiner, whose career in public life came to an abrupt end when he sent lewd pictures to a college student on Twitter, jumped back into politics on Wednesday by announcing a bid for mayor of New York City. “Look, I’ve made some big mistakes and I know I’ve let a lot of people down,” the Democrat said in a 2-minute video announcing his bid. “But I’ve also learned some tough lessons. I’m running for mayor because I’ve been fighting for the middle class and those struggling to make it for my entire life.

The dam protecting the IRS scandal began to crack today when Lois Lerner, the IRS official who announced, and apologized for, the improper singling out of conservative-leaning organizations by IRS employees under her command, announced through her criminal defense lawyer that she will not testify as scheduled tomorrow before the House Oversight Committee. Rather, she will assert her Fifth Amendment right against self-incrimination. This marks an enormous milestone in the IRS investigation. It can now be taken as more or less established that crimes were committed by Obama administration employees. Lerner’s lawyer tried to minimize the significance

The public got its first look Thursday at Lois Lerner, who has gone from faceless IRS bureaucrat to the face that launched what feels like 1,000 congressional hearings and conspiracy theories. But it was only a brief sighting since she didn´t stay long at a House hearing to further probe her role in how some IRS workers came to target conservative groups seeking tax-exempt status. (Snip)She did make a short statement to declare her innocence, however. Lerner´s motivation was more transparent than much of what the IRS has done in connection with this controversy. When you get right down to it, the political targeting and stalling of tax-exempt applications by the IRS was an effort to defund the Tea Party. Rick Santelli, one of the Tea Party founders and my CNBC colleague, was the first to make this point. I’ve taken it a step further: The IRS was taking the Tea Party out of play for the 2012 election, as it looked to avoid a repeat of 2010 and another Tea Party landslide. There are a lot of numbers out there.
