Hoffa predicts ´civil war´ in Michigan
CNN, by Ashley Killough

Jimmy Hoffa, president of the International Brotherhood of Teamsters, said Tuesday he expects Michigan unions and lawmakers to break out into "civil war" after the state legislature passed right-to-work bills that would weaken unions´ power. "This is just the first round of a battle that´s going to divide this state. We´re going to have a civil war," Hoffa said on CNN´s "Newsroom." The Republican-controlled state House passed two bills that had already been approved by the GOP-dominated state Senate. Gov. Rick Snyder, also a Republican, is poised to sign the bill, which would allow workers

The Dems, and Libs want people to do what they tell you to do. Do as they say not as they do. They want people to have rights, Their Rights, no Our Rights. Why should people not have a choice of whether to be in a union or not. They earn their money. Unions take it and use it to Destroy our Country!! They are mad because they are losing the money that goes to the Programs our president wants to supply
Way to Go Michigan!! Oh by the way the Dems don´t like when Republicans use the passing of bills by the politicans of their states. Only they can when they pass gay marriage through the states government like they did in NYS

The Right to Choose only applies to killing babies I guess. If they start rioting... since no one lost their jobs or incurred any personal loss, that would qualify as unfair labor practices... and violates their own stupid laws.

Since the MSM has a blackout on the 2 dock strikes in LA & San Diego.. striking for eliminated sec´y jobs to still be paid to unions... Is that still holding up xmas presents?

They know they have a comrade in arms in the White House. They´re feeling like "it´s time". So almost like it´s been planned and rehearsed, they´re surging, trying to provoke a violent reaction. This time they may be purposely looking for an incident that invites such a response that it would provide justification for a "Red October" type of uprising. Then the comrade´s edicts to supposedly protect the public...martial law, confiscation of firearms, etc.

It certainly has the look and feel of something bigger and more "final" than your typical union thug protest. Be vigilant. Be prepared.

Yes Obe elections do have consequences. One occurs when states can no longer trust or work with feds and baby dictators they resort to state solutions.
Now we have a nation almost evenly divided
right to work free vs right to bow to unions.
incoming makes 30 states not progressive controlled and Obe loses his fake mandate.

I saw some video of Hoffa´s union thugs today, as they beat Steven Crowder´s teeth out of his head.

These are the same jackasses who spent the past two days loudly rehearsing the lines, "We´re not the violent ones."

Scum.

Absolute scum.

What I wish on these scum (and their entire families) isn´t printable in any family-friendly forum.

Heard Tucker Carlson on Brett Bair. He said everybody needs to find the efficient way of doing things, employers and employees alike. Unions are not efficient and are obsolete. If unions were efficient the U.S. Marines would be unionized.

I kind of hope the unions follow through on these threats, and the businesses in MI take a powder to a southern state leaving behind the union´s scum. If nothing else, I hope they strike far and wide and throw us into a recession so Obama´s second term will be one long nightmare for everyone, not just us conservatives.

Tony Camargo has been identified as being one of the union scum to attack Steven Crowder without provocation.

Tony Camargo needs to be charged, jailed and sued in civil court for every dime he has.

That, or Tony Camargo needs to have a busload of right-minded people show up at his home at 20 a.m., and show this fat union coward what´s up.

I don´t know how much difference this will make in Mich. from a practical standpoint. This is a very union addicted state and I´m sure this is causing ripples throughout the community.Union leadership doesn´t understand how much people have turned against them, especially when everybody else is struggling and they deamnd more.Unions can feel their power fading away so they´ll make one hell of a stink about this. It´s too bad republican interests never get this fired up when it goes against us.How many people threw an actual fit over Robert´s Obamacare decision?

But I can see where a new hire will be read the riot act in a parking of at a unionized factory. They´ll find ways to intimidate people into joining the union regardless of what the law says. Afterall, they are union thugs.

Unions aren´t only bad because they donate to dems but their pay and benefit scale is way out of line. On top of that, they do things like slow productivity to protect overtime.

Now in the great Union State of MI, Republicans show they have some guts and role them back. Lets not forget the bravery of Wisconsin´s Republicans last year. Now if we could see some similar courage from Mr. Boehner in D.C.

Hoffa´s union has been closely watched/audited, by order of the congress, for years due to criminal activity. When the present potus and his minions in the congress took control (2007 for congress, 2008 for the leader)they removed the watch/audit process and let the union return to what it does best....criminal activity and funding the dem party.

This is what it looks like when a state has been paying protection money to the mob and decides to stop. Just a bunch of thugs out for themselves and the heck with their neighbors who are out of work....let them eat cake.
These unions have bankrupted the state legislatures and could care less, because they have their man in the white house who can start up the presses and print bail out money.

Unions are now primarily self-serving gangs of thugs, and have long outlived their purpose.

Reply 42 - Posted by: MamaD, 12/12/2012 8:25:00 AM     (No. 9061092)

Only 18% of all Michigan employees belong to a union. This includes both public and private sector unions. I grew up in Michigan in the heart of UAW country, and I was surprised the number was so small. However, the influence of unions on the psyche of many is huge. Even though much of the state runs moderate to conservative politically (which is reflected in our republican governor and republican-controlled state house & senate), the southeast region, which includes Detroit, Ann Arbor, & Flint, has for decades supported primarily the democrat party and has been strongly pro-union, despite the fact that the majority of people here aren´t union members. I am a visiting RN, and I try to keep a "neutral" position when patients bring up political topics. I´m there to help people heal, not to recruit them to the conservative cause. But even my neutral statements about the tensions in Lansing were met with vehement denunciations of Gov. Snyder and the evil republicans. Needless to say, I quickly changed the subject.

Reply 43 - Posted by: Rinktum, 12/12/2012 8:25:39 AM     (No. 9061095)

The union says that people who are not members should not receive the benefits that they have "negotiated." I say fine, let the non-union workers work on the merit system and we will see just how much they can EARN in the way of benefits. The unions have done more harm than good in last few decades. They have done nothing to increase the productivity of their members, and have promoted an adversarial environment between labor and management. Union workers do not make up of the majority of the work force and amazingly, companies can still prosper and treat their employees well. Most of us don´t need bullies on our behalf to negotiate our wages and benefits. A person of good character and honesty with a good work ethic can do just fine. They will be more productive and produce better products and results. That is their leverage unlike the threat of violence or work stoppage.

Reply 44 - Posted by: M2, 12/12/2012 8:26:02 AM     (No. 9061096)

Hoffa also argued that those who don´t pay union dues will be considered "free riders,” as they’re getting the same benefits from union representation without the cost.

Free riders? You mean like the welfare slugs who ride on our backs as WE pull the wagon?
Or the free riders who enjoy the benefits of lifetime pensions on OUR tax dollars?
Or maybe the free riders who flit about on Air Force One and Two on OUR tax dollars on their myriad vacations?
Or the Teachers Unions who are permitted to teach nothing and get paid for it on OUR tax dollars?
Or the free riders in Congress who get generously paid for life after they retire on OUR tax dollars?

If there are any "free riders" in this labor issue, it´s the union pensioners, thugs and enforcers who funnel OUR money into electing Democrat (never Republican) officials, Presidents, Congressmen and Senators.

The reason the unions are so hot over workers having a choice is that union dues always, always go toward electing Democrats. It´s a huge candy store and the Democrat Party can´t afford to have the flow of dollars for Democrats stopped or slowed.

For Democrats, unions hold the piggy bank.

I view unions as a necessary evil especially in the skilled trades (carpentry, plumbing, electricians, welding, pipefitting, etc.). But the union has to make the case that their activities benefit the workers and the best measure of their (union) effectiveness is the voluntary payment of dues. The unions oppose Right to Work for the same reason that the IRS would oppose the elimination of Payroll Tax With holding. Its means that the ultimate payer will suddenly subject them to additional scrutiny.

Wasn´t it just the other day that Obama was in Michigan politicking against State elected officials because they were considering the ´Right to Work´ law that was passed. That is blatant federal interference in legal Michigan business and you can blame the resulting rioting on the WH.

If I was the state of Michigan, and any other state for that matter, I would deny the President any security normally provided by State and Local police when he´s flying in to purposely cause rioting and unrest. He should just butt out. Why pay for the expense of having to pay for Presidential protection and to pay for the ensuing rioting and law breaking encouraged by the Administration.

A lot of people voting for Obama realized that their current financial plight is due to the unions. This is the disconnect that Democrats have long feared. There are plenty of Democrats who personally dispise unions for their power and privlege and have no problem with Michigan becoming a right to work state as long as it stays Democratic. The union proposition was defeated with the help of Democratic voters. The message is clear, belong to a union if you want but it has nothing to do with me or my party and by the way you are the problem.

Odd, isn´t it? Michigan went for Obama, yet has a legislature and a governor that are willing and able to pass a right to work law just a month after the big election. And the protests come, not from the outraged citizens of Michigan, but from thugs and goons brought in from other states. (As they were in Wisconsin.)

Not rocket science. Union chiefs want to manipulate the market to the unions´ advantage, then take their dues, pay themselves astronomical salaries and bribe democratic politicians to support them. Any other questions?

When I was in high school I worked for $1/hr. doing semi-skilled labor. My unionized classmates made $4/hr. doing utterly brainless labor at a manufacturing plant. Guess what--the plant went out of business. The unions´ top principle: it´s good while it lasts.

Unions are a bad 19th century European idea that was imposed into an attempt to solve a problem that arose in early-to-mid 19th century Europe - especially in Germany and France. The problem was the mass migration of millions of illiterate peasants off the land into the cities to take jobs in factories under horrendous conditions.

Many of these peasants and their advocates - (syndicalists, socialists, communists, etc.) emigrated to the U.S., bringing their problems and their attitudes with them.

We are over a hundred years past this stage, yet the Union Movement is still stuck back in the 19th century at the Homestead Mine with immigrant firebrand Mother Jones.

Stay safe Steven Crowder. Breitbart taught you well.

Report goof offs" And then an employee number and an 800 number.
Then we can see some correction.
My relative works for a big public entity, is in a union, finishes his job in about 3-4 hrs and then he and the others hide out in an eco-preserve where there are large trees until the end of their shift.
Get this, they don´t even have a time clock in the dept for them or any one !
This is what is wrong with unions

We are looking at the future of the Republican Party. Forget trying to form a conservative third party. It´s not necessary.

After all the fretting about the lack of a bench at the national level of the Republican Party, this should give us all hope. While the entire current crop of would-be Republican presidential candidates at the national level are busy trying to figure out ways to not lose, there are literally thousands of conservative men and women playing take-no-prisoners triple A political hardball out in the boonies, and they´re not afraid to get their uniforms dirty. This is how the Tea Party takes over the Republican Party. From the ground up.

How many UAW, SEIU, AFL-CIO, UMWA and teachers union members want to finance the losing side of the next civil war? Even with the DOJ and IRS gestapos on your side you won´t fare well if a civil is what your leaders are calling for. And you can be sure none of them will be on the front lines.

Can the Republican Party pose the question:

Why should union members get paid more than the rest of us? Why should they have government power to enhance their own standard of living while the rest of us don´t?

The Unions add no value to the products the workers make- so we are paying higher prices so they can have higher wages. Why should this be?

I read or heard an article a couple of days ago that companies searching around for some other place or state to relocate to have told the searchers to NOT even consider ANY state that in NOT a right to work state. Now, I just wonder if the unions have heard about this? My guess is that they have and are scared ****less because of it. And for all the uproar caused by unions, it´s amazing that unions only make up 8% of the non-public sector work force. Yet they cause a large amount of trouble.

And if memory serves me, I seem to recall that a some time in the past that most of the large labor unions were controlled by the Mafia. Have the Dims simply evolved into them?

Statism: Pope Francis seemed to have an economic blind spot, to say the least, when he urged more "state control" to cut global poverty Thursday. On the contrary — the biggest poverty-killer in history is free enterprise. Before we go further, let us say that we know that the pope does seem to have the best intentions and his devotion to the poor is indisputable. But it appears he has been infected by the local economic pathologies of his homeland, Argentina, and its liberation theology among the Jesuits, at least when he warned ambassadors about "the tyranny of money"

Democracy: The IRS targeting of Tea Party groups is mind-boggling not only for its abuse of government power. It´s also disturbing for what it intended to do: destroy civil society, opening a door for tyranny. The formation in 2009 of hundreds of Tea Party groups at the rallying cry of CNBC news editor Rick Santelli, from places as diverse as Lowell, Mass., Pleasanton, Calif., Asheville, N.C., Yuma, Ariz., and Lincoln, Neb., among hundreds of others, was a spontaneous reaction by ordinary American citizens to an overspending, oversized government whose overreach called into question its constitutionality.

Many observers have pondered if the United States is following the same troubled path as Argentina. In the 1940s, Argentina’s Juan Domingo Perón used government agencies for political gain and created a popular form of fascism called Perónism. In the United States, the recent revelation of the Internal Revenue Service targeting political enemies is a bad omen. Are we on an Argentinean course? The road to decay in my native country, Argentina, began with the implementation of one of the most powerful collectivist doctrines of the 20th century: fascism.

CARACAS, Venezuela — First milk, butter, coffee and cornmeal ran short. Now Venezuela is running out of the most basic of necessities — toilet paper. Blaming political opponents for the shortfall, as it does for other shortages, the embattled socialist government says it will import 50 million rolls to boost supplies. That was little comfort to consumers struggling to find toilet paper on Wednesday. "This is the last straw," said Manuel Fagundes, a shopper hunting for tissue in downtown Caracas. "I´m 71 years old and this is the first time I´ve seen this." One supermarket visited by The Associated Press

Venezuela in 2012 became a net importer of gasoline as a result of escalating problems at its refineries and increasing demand for fuel in its internal market, joining a growing list of countries that struggle with fuel supplies despite ample oil reserves. Venezuela exported 30,000 barrels per day (bpd) of gasoline and naphtha last year, according to state oil company PDVSA annual report. But it imported an average of 66,300bpd of the same fuels from the US alone, according to US energy department data.

What did President Obama do on the evening of 9/11/12 when our men were under attack in Benghazi? The invaluable Andrew McCarthy reminds us that Obama and Secretary Clinton had a 10:00 p.m. phone call of which many (including, I think, Chris Wallace) have lost sight. This morning when Wallace asked Obama aide Dan Pfeiffer what Obama was up to that evening, Pfeiffer declared the line of inquiry “offensive.” Translation: Obama and his minions would prefer to “move on” and are warning the likes of FNC off:(Snip for video)The Weekly Standard’s Daniel Halper has posted the rush transcript

The Washington Post on Monday reported that Obama’s Department of Justice was investigating journalists before they started wiretapping the Associated Press – for one, Fox News correspondent James Rosen in 2010. Their headline wasn´t "Obama Team Also Spied on Fox News." Fox wasn´t in the headline, on A-1 or on A-12, where the story continued.
