GOP senator slams USDA for not
answering questions on policies
contributing to record food stamp use

Following news that participation in the food stamp program hit another record high in September, Alabama Republican Sen. Jeff Sessions took to the Senate floor Tuesday to lambast the Department of Agriculture for failing to respond to an oversight request regarding USDA policies that have likely contributed to the expansion of the program. “America is a generous and compassionate nation. We do not want to have people hungry in our country,” Sessions, the Ranking Member on the Senate Budget Committee said.

At least somebody is asking questions. Jeez.

Those on food stamps should be asking the WH "where are the JOBS", instead of blindly voting.

Once they get on the "dole" - they never come off.

USDA should require each state to take one letter of the alphabet and verify the "qualifications" of recipients in a rolling cycle.

The USA´s newest Olympic ice hockey chant:

EBT! EBT! EBT!

Would be accompanied by dufus looking people waving Obama flags, talking on Obamaphones and wondering where they can vote again for the Awesome One.

A nice looking young lady in front me in a check out lane one day was going to be baking cookies, thanks to the taxpayers. It was all I could do to keep my mouth shut to her, but I didn´t to the check out chickie, who just rolled her eyes at me.

Not only are there too many people getting food stamps, but they are getting too much!

A teacher told a family member that she was getting $800 per month food stamps. That is $9600 TAX FREE per year.

The re-selling of the extras is a black market bonanza.

Cut them all in half and phase them out!

Why should our food stamp program have anything to do with Mexico? This is a sham. Let them feed and support their own grifters.

For the 1st time I can recall, The Farm Bill was not renewed. The USDA then went to meet with farmers and lambasted them for whining... and told them their future was to focus on exports not American consumers...

Huh?!!!!

For the first time ever, our local TV channel is encouraging everyone to sign up for food stamps. Around here, the grifters go to food pantries, then sell their food stamps.

On “The O’Reilly Factor” on Tuesday night, Washington Post columnist Charles Krauthammer criticized President Barack Obama for his foreign policy but downplayed the effects of Obama’s interview with Zach Galifianakis in a Funny or Die video on Russian President Vladimir Putin of Obama. “I think it’s a kind of arrogance,” Krauthammer said. “He thinks he has a good foreign policy. I think he is semi-delusional about the results of these five years. There is not a spot in the world you -- can go from Syria to Libya to Iran to China, to Russia to Ukraine

A failure to properly supervise a Department of Veteran’s Affairs employee led him to use VA resources for sexting, misuse official time, and inappropriately spend thousands of dollars in travel funds, according to a recent report. In a redacted report — first highlighted by the Military Times — the Department of Veterans Affairs Office of Inspector General reveals a plethora of cringe-worthy offenses perpetrated by an unnamed VA employee. Despite the employee’s bad behavior, his supervisors allowed him to continue his unauthorized activities and even promoted him.

In 2011, the Department of Justice raided Gibson Guitar facilities in Memphis and Nashville, alleging a violation of the so-called Lacey Act, a law that bans the importation of certain kinds of wildlife, plants and wood. At the time of the raid, Gibson Guitars CEO Henry Juszkiewicz told Hugh Hewitt on his radio show that the feds confiscated tonewood imported from India for the guitar Gibson manufacturers which would result in a cost of $2 to $3 million for his company. At a great expense in legal fees and time, Juszkiewicz fought the federal government tooth and nail.

One of former President Bill Clinton’s favorite restaurants has eliminated its Friday buffet due to Obamacare. “We regret we had to make this decision but unfortunately we face new expenses as a result of the Healthcare reform and the Friday Buffet, though wonderful, was not profitable and required extra staff which we can no longer sustain,” a notice at the Georgetown Italian restaurant’s website reads. The Friday Lunch Buffet ended on Jan. 1.

After court documents revealed that the Department of Homeland Security has been ferrying illegal alien children detained at the border to their illegal alien parents living in the United States, Louisiana Republican Sen. David Vitter is looking for answers. “I am shocked to learn that the federal government is a participant in an international human smuggling conspiracy,” Vitter wrote in a letter to Homeland Security Secretary Jeh Johnson Wednesday. “I cannot imagine a case in which such a policy would be in accordance with the established mission of the Department, particularly since this encourages additional smuggling and sometimes extreme abuse

According to a Gallup survey released over the Thanksgiving holiday, the percentage of adults reporting that they ate healthy all day “yesterday” has been consistently lower all 2013 compared to 2012.

Neurosurgeon Ben Carson says the White House wanted him to apologize for “offending” President Obama after he famously delivered a conservative message at the National Prayer Breakfast last year. Carson, the former director of pediatric neurosurgery at Johns Hopkins Hospital, recalls the events surrounding his 2013 speech in his new book, One Nation: What We Can All Do To Save America’s Future. The Daily Caller obtained an advance copy of the book, which is set for release May 20. “He did not appear to be hostile or angry,” Carson writes of Obama, “but within a matter of minutes after the conclusion of

Megyn Kelly’s "Kelly File" is a great news show. She’s incisive, informed and customarily handles the toughest guest with aplomb. But her lengthy interview of Facebook C.O.O. Sheryl Sandberg about her second book in the Lean In series Lean In: For Graduates was a head shaker. Amazing that she of all people allowed Sandberg to restring the same old, same old, shamed, and shopworn feminist myths about women and girls and then jangle it in front of her viewing audience like something new out of the box. Indeed Kelly all but genuflected in front of this woman. Kept her on thru

On Saturday, I wrote about the standoff at Bundy Ranch. That post drew a remarkable amount of traffic, even though, as I wrote then, I had not quite decided what to make of the story. Since then, I have continued to study the facts and have drawn some conclusions. Here they are. First, it must be admitted that legally, Bundy doesn’t have a leg to stand on. The Bureau of Land Management has been charging him grazing fees since the early 1990s, which he has refused to pay. Further, BLM has issued orders limiting the area on which Bundy’s cows can

Like him or hate him, there is no disputing that Rush Limbaugh’s very special brand of mixing right-wing politics with his flare for entertainment has produced one of the most successful radio programs in the medium’s long history. Whatever the burning political question of the day, millions of Americans have relished the opportunity to tune into Rush’s program, knowing that he would quickly take that hot potato, throw a few gallons of verbal kerosene into the mix and elevate the matter into a five alarm fire with a just a few well-chosen words spoken in the style only Rush Limbaugh could

Less than a minute into his speech at the Boston marathon bombing memorial on Tuesday, Vice President Joe Biden went tragically off script and told the crowd of Boston bombing survivors that "it was worth it." After expressing how impressed he was with the tribute, he said somberly, "let me say to those ´quote survivors,´ my God, you have survived and you have soared. It was worth it. I mean this sincerely - just to hear each of you speak. You´re truly, truly inspiring." The audience sat in stunned silence until Biden declared, "I´ve never heard anything so beautiful than

Casual marijuana use may come with some not-so-casual side effects. For the first time ever, researchers at Northwestern University have analyzed the relationship between casual use of marijuana and brain changes – and found that young adults who used cannabis just once or twice a week showed significant abnormalities in two important brain structures. The study’s findings, to be published Wednesday in the Journal of Neuroscience, are similar to those of past research linking chronic, long-term marijuana use with mental illness and changes in brain development. Dr. Hans Breiter, co-senior study author, said he was inspired to look at the effects of casual

Look, everyone loves Sean Connery, particularly Sean Connery. That’s why he plays Sean Connery in every movie he’s in. People love that Scottish brogue so much, they don’t mind that he has it when he plays Juan Sánchez Villa-Lobos Ramírez, an immortal Spaniard in Highlander. The guy even won an Oscar for playing an Irish cop with a Scottish accent. Talk about sexist double standards: Meryl Streep has to master foreign dialects to get her golden statuettes. Connery just has to show up on time. In economics you devalue a currency by printing too much of it. In film you
