| As protests against Michigan’s right-to-work laws swelled, pro-union Democrat legislator Douglas Geiss took to the state House floor – and Twitter – to promise violence. “We are going to undo 100 years of labor relations,” said Geiss. “And there will be blood. We will relive the Battle of the Overpass.” The Battle of the Overpass was a 1937 clash between the United Auto Workers and security troops for the Ford Motor Company, in which dozens of union activists were beaten up. It has long been considered one of the worst examples of corporate-stooge union busting.

Melodrama.
What a thoughtless remark, overheated, overblown. And in the current conditions in our country where there is too much blood being shed.
Shame on Geiss.

He should be arrested for trying to incite a riot. The unions are no more than the mafi extorting money from you so you can work for someone else. Tired of the union mentality, 5 people for a one person job.

Some female dem leader was on Greta the other night complaining that the Republicans were conducting business behind closed doors and that the public had a right to participate in the hearings. Yeah, we saw how they "participated" in Madison - Lansing promises to be even worse.

There is more to life than what we learned in kindergarten, #7. Sometimes, the bad guys need to be confronted, and on their own terms. That they tend to run soon thereafter is the rule we would do well to remember here.

As a currently unemployed Michigan resident, I applaud Gov. Snyder and Michigan lawmakers getting this through. The time and place for unions are long gone, they are now just thugs using over 90% of the dues collected to make sure Dems get elected.

GRRRRRR ! One of the Dem representatives said it´s such a bad plan ~ the reporter said ~ what about Indiana ~ she replied ~ they have higher unemployment and more people on welfare in Indiana than we have here in Michigan. I heard that and said to myself ~ GOD ~ the look right in the camera and lie through their teeth ! Does she think we are idiots ! ??? We could only hope to be as well of as Indiana is. Get a clue ~ but they don´t want a clue ~ they want that Union $ to keep flowing into their re-election funds ~ the truth be Damned !!!

When the enemy is down in the trenches, sometimes you have to get down there with them and fight as dirty as they do. When the bloodshed is over, there will be no more unions. Bring it on and let´s get it over with. With the demise of the unions will come the end of the democrat party as we know it.

The only function of modern unions is to protect the mediocre worker. That´s all and nothing more.
Michigan teachers call in sick to protest and only 7% of eighth graders are proficient in their ability to read? It seems to be a proper time to fire these teachers who aren´t doing their job anyway.
Union thugs are a slimy scourge of overinflated egos. Their time is over!

#23, boy ain´t that the truth! I had to work in a union environment for a year back in the late 80´s. Protection of mediocrity was everything. They don´t encourage the promotion of good workers over bad. It is all based on seniority, no matter the level of incompetence.

The unions in Michigan tried to amend the State constitution last election, trying to give themselves favored status. Governor Snyder asked the unions to not try that, and he warned them publically that if the union amendment failed, he would pass right to work. The unions went "all-in" for the amendment, but despite $millions of dues spent , they lost by a significant margin. The people in Michigan want right to work, and it looks like they are going to get it.

The left has always assumed that it owns the violence option in America, and the streets, because historically it always has. Hopefully, they´ll experience a lethal teachable moment very soon. We´re getting to that point very quickly.
And if you think that these pukes are ever going to be "prosecuted," you´re delusional.

#7 that used to be true. No more. They win because they act that way and the good people will compromise.
No doing what they do does not make us like them. We are defending liberty and they are destroying it.
There is no moral equivalency. Chivalry is tool of the oppressors to maintain control
I hope there is blood and I hope that union members die

The White House’s explanation of what it knew about the investigation into the IRS’s scrutiny of conservative political groups and how it planned for the eventual release of that information shifted once again Tuesday. Just a day after telling reporters that chief of staff Denis McDonough and other senior White House staff learned of the situation nearly a month ago, press secretary Jay Carney revealed Tuesday that White House officials had consulted with the Treasury Department on how to make the findings public.(Snip) Carney said he hadn’t revealed more information about which officials

Douglas Shulman, the former commissioner of the Internal Revenue Service, said today he was “dismayed and saddened” that his agency had improperly targeting conservative groups, but declined to offer a direct apology and dismissed suggestions that he mislead Congress. The testimony from Shulman, who was making his first public appearance since the IRS controversy broke into the open two weeks ago, did not satisfy members of the Senate Finance Committee. He faced more than three hours of stern questioning from Democrats and Republicans, but said “I don’t believe I was aware” when asked

For a "failed scandal," Fast and Furious sure brought out the heavy hitters at the Department of Justice to deal with a whistleblower. The department´s inspector general has released a report accusing one US attorney, Dennis Burke, of leaking a document that smeared John Dodson, a key witness in the Fast and Furious scandal, and accusing other officials in the department of coming up with a strategy to discredit him. Breitbart: The DOJ IG said it found "Burke´s conduct in disclosing the Dodson memorandum to be inappropriate for a Department employee and wholly unbefitting a U.S. Attorney."

Officials in the White House discussed how and when the Internal Revenue Service would tell the public that the agency had targeted political groups, White House press secretary Jay Carney said Tuesday. Carney said that Mark Childress, the White House deputy chief of staff, twice spoke with officials at the Treasury Department about the strategy for revealing conservative targeting. Childress and the Treasury officials discussed the possibility that Lois Lerner, the IRS official who oversaw the agency´s tax-exempt organization, would reveal that an inspector general´s investigation had found

Tiger Woods and Sergio Garcia can finally agree on something. "He called me a whiner. A federal court in San Francisco Tuesday struck down Arizona´s ban on abortions after 20 weeks of pregnancy. The 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals ruled that the law violates a string of U.S. Supreme Court rulings starting with Roe v. Wade that guarantees a woman´s right to an abortion before a fetus is able to survive outside the womb. That´s generally considered to be about 24 weeks. Normal pregnancies run about 40 weeks. Several states have enacted similar bans starting at 20 weeks. But the 9th Circuit´s ruling is binding only in the nine Western states

WASHINGTON – The Internal Revenue Serviced scandal today spread further within the White House and closer to President Obama. White House spokesman Jay Carney today disclosed that Obama’s chief of staff, Dennis McDonough, and other top White House officials had advance warning that the IRS was targeting conservative groups. But he insisted McDonough and the other White House officials purposely kept Obama out of the loop.McDonough “rightly chose not to take action” to inform Obama, Carney told reporters at the daily White House briefing.

The Washington Post on Monday reported that Obama’s Department of Justice was investigating journalists before they started wiretapping the Associated Press – for one, Fox News correspondent James Rosen in 2010. Their headline wasn´t "Obama Team Also Spied on Fox News." Fox wasn´t in the headline, on A-1 or on A-12, where the story continued. Newly obtained court documents “reveal how deeply investigators explored the private communications of a working journalist — and raise the question of how often journalists have been investigated as closely as Rosen was in 2010.” Reporter Ann Marimow began:

The wheels came off the Obama administration yesterday. We learned of a startling assault on freedom of the press by the Department of Justice, following the revelation last week of the unprecedented information-gathering foray by that department against The Associated Press. Then, a few minutes later, the Justice Department’s inspector general released a report declaring that the US attorney in Arizona used the leak of a confidential memo to try to discredit a whistleblower in the notorious “gun-walking” scandal known as Fast and Furious (which got two federal agents killed). The leak was called “egregious.”

WASHINGTON – A top IRS official in the division that reviews nonprofit groups will invoke the Fifth Amendment and refuse to answer questions before a House committee investigating the agency’s improper screening of conservative nonprofit groups. Lois Lerner, the head of the exempt organizations division of the IRS, won’t answer questions about what she knew about the improper screening – or why she didn’t reveal it to Congress, according to a letter from her defense lawyer, William W. Taylor 3rd. Lerner was scheduled to appear before the House Oversight committee Wednesday.

A senior adviser to President Obama mounted a combative defense of the administration on Sunday, saying the controversies enveloping the White House were the result of Republican lawmakers’ trying to “drag Washington into a swamp of partisan fishing expeditions, trumped-up hearings and false allegations.”The remarks came from Dan Pfeiffer, a member of the president’s inner circle, as he appeared on all five major Sunday morning talk shows in an effort to move the administration past what commentators have described as a “hell week” of controversy and missteps.

One of the questions was whether he/she was concerned about unsecured weapons in the home. Another asked whether he/she was "in a relationship in which you have been physically hurt or are you afraid of your partner?" Judge Andrew Napolitano explained that the question about guns comes out of a post-Sandy Hook executive order by President Obama, but it will be required under Obamacare. Varney expressed amazement
